When we stayed in Syvota for the third year running, we couldn't wait to visit the Ionian Taverna again and experience wonderful fresh seafood and traditional Greek cooking - at it's very best. On previous visits we had enjoyed lobster, literally fresh from the sea, selected from a basket in the water at the quayside - and we weren't disappointed this time because it was just as fresh and as always, cooked to perfection. Although there are many very good restaurants in Syvota, we ate at the Taverna 10 out of our 14 night stay in the village. Why? Because every dish whether it be seafood, meat, spaghetti, moussaka, in fact anything from the menu..... Was amazing. We have our own favourites, fish being the main one and I think you would struggle to taste tuna or swordfish as good as they serve it here. Sadly, we couldn't eat our way through all of the choices on the menu, as the phrase "Too many options, too little time" applied. But the food isn't the only thing that draws us back - the staff are lovely and the "ladies of the family" that do the cooking and look after the kitchen, deserve to be supported as they obviously have such pride in the excellent dishes they produce. The restaurant itself is very relaxed as it is located at the more quiet side of the bay and the setting is very tranquil as you look out over the yachts towards the other side of the harbour. All in all, a wonderful Greek dining experience that hopefully we can return to time and time again - thank you for enhancing our wonderful holiday in beautiful Syvota.
