Can I begin this review by asking you to ignore the one from a previous reviewer headed "swindle". To label a hotel dishonest on the basis off one simple error is, in my view, a hasty and unnecessary act. And to close this subject - I can state that we were also charged 50% on booking, as is hotel policy, and this was properly deducted from the final bill. At all times the staff were polite, friendly and helpful.
Having cleared that up (I hope!) let me get on with the review:
The hotel is situated in a tiny, but lovely village so you should be aware that, other than the hotel, there are no other facilities. As the hotel is absolutely lovely however, that should not be considered a problem.
The hotel and rooms are typical "Alpine chalet" style and the standard of décor and furnishing is very high. The rooms are all individually styled and are of a good size and perfectly comfortable. There is also a very nice, spacious veranda with a selection of tables, chairs and loungers, so it is an ideal place to relax and enjoy views of the village and its lovely church.
There is no separate bar as such (it is just part of the dining room), but there is draft beer on tap. On our stay the dinner menu was limited to the "menu du jour" but it was of a very good quality and very good value.
Breakfast could perhaps be considered a tad expensive, but was also of very good quality with a selection of hams, cheeses and boiled eggs, all served with lovely fresh bread and croissants, as well as the usual selection of fruit, cereals, juice etc.
We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay here and our only disappointment was that we hadn't booked for longer.
