we spent a week and a half at the "moulin rouge" .It was the best vacation we had in France .the location is in the center of Perigord , and each day we drove in different direction to another dreamy attraction.Misha and Rosette are very nice , very friendly and helpfull.the breakfast is rich and tasty , the vieuw is splendid.
before arriving there I had reserved only 3 nights thinking that we would continue to another location for the rest of the vacation. When we got there we changed our mind and luckily for us it was possible to stay there the whole week and a half.

Room Tip: the Rosalie room is pure heaven

We went to the show there and it was awesome! We didn't do the dinner show just champagne but it was so worth it! I would defiantly go back again! It was well worth the money we spent. Before that we toured the area around the theater which was very interesting!

Rossete was standing outside, waiting our arrival on the narrow way between the private lake and the house.
Since we me hert every evening and morning we were happy to meet her. Sheis very kind and speeks English. She like to give an advise.. you can get her help in any quastion you have.
There us a very big garden arround the house an although it seems to be on the main road you dont feel it at all.
a nice place to stay in the dordogne. comfortable to reach a lot of intersting places.
If you speak French you can comunikate with her husband too. for us it was difficult although he tried.
There is a place to park your car in the garden.

Me and my husband went to France this June (2010), first we'd stay in Paris for a couple of days and then we went to the Dordogne walley in Southwest France. We've been there 2 times before and wanted to go again, there is something about this area and we'd fell in love with it many years ago. Well we'd stay in the same B&B as 2006 and as then it was perfect. The hosts, Micha and Rosette are so friendly and helpful they are always willing to assist and point out some interesting places in the area and their lovely old house and its surrounding garden are just so beautiful and charming. The rooms are beautiful and each one has its own entrance. There is a little lake in the garden with some fishes in it, Micha offered us to swim in the lake, well we didn't but surely some might like it.
The breakfast, which is served on the terrace by the little lake if the weather is good, was so great. Rosette's cakes and waffles are mouthwatering and she even packed a walnut cake and some pear pie for us to take with us to the train on our day of departure.
We loved staying at the Moulin Rouge and we hope we have a chance to stay there one more time.

We found the Moulin Rouge on the internet and it was exactly in the area we wanted to explore - near the Dordogne River in the Perigaux region of France. Arriving was the first wonderful surprise - the property is large, beautiful, spacious and yet, right in the center of the little town of Cenac. We were two couples, and we were given two lovely rooms that opened out onto such a beautiful view that we are still talking about weeks later. There is a lovely, long pool for swimming or just sitting beside that was created by the damning of a stream. Over one end of the pool sits a wooden deck with well kept lawn furniture and this is where breakfast is served. And breakfast is amazing. Madame Rosette, the lovely proprietress is an amazing cook, providing incredible baked goods, fresh bakery breads, home made jams, eggs, fresh fruits, juices, coffee and tea and more every morning. Her husband Micha is there to help with any need from making restaurant reservations to helping start the barbeque if you wish to make your own lunch or dinner on the property. He even treated us to a bottle of wine with our dinner one night. I have rarely enjoyed a B&B as much as we did this one. Though Micha is not an English speaker, Rosette is, and both are so friendly and helpful that even without a common language they will manage to make themselves understood. We spent five wonderful nights at the Moulin Rouge and did a lot of traveling in the area including a lovely canoe trip down the Dordogne - the starting point is walking distance from the B&B. A great place to stay!
