We had no idea what to expect when we arived with our four small children (4, 6, 8, and 10) for a summer vacation. We spent five nights at the Pink Sands before continuing on to Reef at the Atlantis. Pink Sands and Harbour Island became some of our favorites in the world. We stayed in a two-dedroom cottage right on the dunes, steps from the beach. Our view was beautiful, the cottage was private and comfortable. We didn't want to leave. I loved this place like I love all of our trips to the Greek islands (two of my kids and husband are there right now!), and we plan on returning this fall. Every night I slept like I was in heaven and woke to one of the best views I have ever experienced.

The staff was very nice and we hardly ever saw other people on the beach or at the small pool. The hotel is close to town. We rented a boat and a golf cart and had an amazing trip. Renting a boat is a great way to spend your days. We just went to the government dock and started asking around. Every day a boy was waiting on us to arrive to go out, and when we returned in the afternoon, he was waiting again. The children, my husband and I snorkled on reefs out in the bay, swam with dolphins and chased and watched the sea turtles. The children caught huge star fish and we took them to Angela's Starfish to have them "cured" so they could bring them home. They are now at our beach house here and they love to tell everyone their story.

The food was good at the hotel, though I thought breakfast was way over priced ($200 for the six of us) and we began taking the cart to Arthur's Bakery each morning. Arthur's had a nice breakfast, great pasteries, and a pretty decent cappucinno. Our favorite dinner and lunch find was a new Italian place at the furtherst marina down the beach. Ask and someone will direct you. It reminded us of Mederteranean places that we love. Often in the afternoon or at lunch, we ate at Valentine's (good for an afternoon cocktail too) and really enjoyed the laid-back vibe.

Pink Sands is wonderful. I can't say enough good thinks about it.

“Recharge and rejuvenate”

Pink Sands

May 27, 2008

I have been visiting Harbor Island for over ten years and I am now a devotee of the pink sands .On both of my last weekend trips I ended up staying extra days.

I say this having traveled to over 90 countries and stayed in some of the best hotels on earth i can easily say that the pink sands despite the laid back bahamian attitude is making a well earned reputation for itself under new owners.

individual cottages footsteps away from the one of the best beaches in the world make you feel like you hit the lotto. The staff remembers your name and the restaurant provides excellent food and wine.

i highly recommended it to those that want to recharge and rejuvenate

The Pink Sands is one of the finest hotels I have visited in the Bahamas. Our stay was first class from start to finish. Many personal touches make this destination really stand out. From the fresh flowers and welcome basket that greet you in the very tasteful room to the extremely friendly staff, this has the makings of a truly special vacation. The beach is like none other. You have to see and feel the pink sand to believe it. The Blue Bar is the perfect place to enjoy a sunrise breakfast or a sunset dinner and live entertainment. I highly recommend the Pink Sands.

We stayed here as the first part of our honeymoon, mainly because my new wife loved the idea of riding a white horse on the pink beach.

The beach certainly lived up to expectations, and was the most amazing colour, and softness.

The suite in the hotel was large, very clean and with a number of small luxuries, including a hot tub we used every evening.

We enjoyed dinner one night in the hotel resturant, which was very good, although I thought dinner in the Rockhouse restaurant was slightly better. I also thoroughly enjoyed lunch at SipSip overlooking the beach.

Overall we had a great time, and thought the hotel delivered what it promised.
