“Well place and not expensive for this place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

We spent few days here. It is mid town, near all restaurents, easy to rent golf car and visit the Island. Services is good, helpfull to find car rent. Near the diving center as well.
The room was quite big with commodity to prepare lunch or dinner if you do not want to go to restaurent.

We booked at this hotel as it was one of the only properties on Harbour Island that had rooms available, and it was definitely the most affordable option. First the positives: the staff were so friendly and helpful, and treated us very well - they were approachable and made good recommendations for restaurants. The location is also great - very close to everything. The room was very basic but spacious and had a kitchenette. However, a couple of things made our stay unpleasant. The handle on one of the windows in our room was broken so the window couldn't be closed (it was already open when we got to the room) and a screen with tons of rips in it was just rested on top of it. We tried to fix the window because there was quite a bit of noise coming into the room from the street, but to no avail, and unfortunately by the time we noticed this problem (around 6 pm), the hotel office was closed so we couldn't get a hold of anyone who might have been able to help us or relocate us. The bathroom was very shabby - the shower water took forever to warm up and never really got hot, the taps were all rusted and the water pressure was really low. There were also no toiletries other than a bar of soap. We really didn't spend too much time in the room but I was glad we were only there for 1 night.

I knew this was a budget option so wasn't expecting much but it just seemed sloppy to have a broken window with a ripped screen on top of it, and the bathroom is worse than what you'd expect in a hostel (our rate was about $150/night). If I return to Harbour Island I plan to splurge on one of the nicer places.

I enjoyed my stay at Royal Palm. Great location, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. The rooms are big and decorated in lively island colors. The beds are comfortable and the furniture is new. My room had a kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator. The location was the best… only 2 blocks from bay side and I could walk to the beach daily. I will return to Royal Palm Hotel for another visit to Harbour Island.

This hotel is very basic though at least was clean. The room had a noisey airconditioner badly fitted in hole in the wall. No shampoo or shower gel. The room had a broken lamp and a toilet that wobbled! In the evening hoards of ants appeared from a hole in the wall. The reception desk was sparsely manned, most of the time it was locked. This gives cheap and cheerful a new name!

Room Tip: Don't choose a standard room!

Thank you for your comments on Trip Advisor.com, we appreciate your feedback. Royal Palm Hotel has since replaced all of its air conditioners with new remote control units. Additionally, we have renovated most of the hotels with lovely tropical or modern decor -- please check us out on Facebook. As for the ants, we have made it a point to continue to work hard to avoid ants; however if guests continue to leave accessible food items -- regardless where you stay in the Caribbean, those wonderful insects will find a way to your room. We will continue to do our part, and you should do yours to avoid such experiences.

Again, thank you for staying at Royal Palm Hotel -- an affordable island style boutique hotel.

I checked all locations in internet, and most of them are very expensive. Since I travelled with family the price is important. The location is quite good, at walking distance from all major restaurants, and the Hotel, even with basic furniture is very clean and confortable. So it worth the money if compared with others. Rooms also have a small kitchenet and very big.
