Historic hotel, very unusual room layouts. Almost like camping since the wind blew rain thru the angled blinds on to our bed while sleeping. No actual windows installed. INCREDIBLE VIEWS FROM YOUR ROOM. Staff is lazy and incompetant but that is to be expected in barbados. Everything takes forever! Hour to eat breakfast...etc. i even asked the manager to schedule a snorkeling trip and he forgot. beach is gorgeous. Bring lots of reading material. ZERO RESTRAUNTS/STORES/NIGHTLIFE, if anyone does open whenever they get around to it be prepared and keep track. We were charged 80$ american = $160 barbados for lunch! Drinks put on bill we ordered but were never brought to the table. beach was closed for swimming entire time we were there.

This Hotel is nealy 200 years old (built 1832) so don't go there if your expecting spa pools and tennis courts. Its absolutly charming and rustic . We first of all stayed in room 2. Then moved to room 3 diffently worth the extra money views from 3 and 4 are stunning. Its a quiet part of the island about 50 ft above the beach, which is a rugged surf beach- stunning the sound of the surf. Catch a taxi from the airport about $35us cheap. Maps of the island lack detail so upon arrival better to catch a cab. Rental car companies will deliver the car to your hotel for no extra cost. Ken the hotel manger and Bob the owner were very friendly and helpful. We found the food fine 7 of us had dinner there the last night , its not cheap and not dear- about right. Full bar as well.
