We stayed here for 3 nights during the Monza Grand Prix in September. We were greeted by the hotel manager and another member of staff and welcomed to the hotel. We were asked if we wanted a hand with unloading our car and if we wanted a parking space closer to the hotel. I think they liked our car! Incidentally, there’s plenty of free off road parking in front of the hotel with lots of nice cars, so feel safe bringing along a nice sports car along.
The hotel receptionist then explained they had a small fleet of brand new Range Rover Evoques laid on during the race weekend – courtesy of Land Rover. They were chauffeur driven and would take us up to the lakes, the mountains or to the circuit (Monza is about 30 minutes drive away). This service was completely free! The hotel staff promptly helped us up to our room with our bags and agreed to take us to Monza to watch the practice. What service! Each day we booked the Range Rover to take us to the circuit and collect us when we were ready. The driver was very interesting and had some great stories to tell us.
The rooms are built to a very high standard and are very minimalist and modern in design, yet packed full of features. Interactive light and blind control panels by the front door and by the side of each bed to dim lights and raise the blinds, a very high specification bathroom with a wonderful shower, lots of stone and glass, a mini bar, large LCD TV and incredibly comfortable beds! I liked the floor to ceiling, wall to wall window, although it’s a bit revealing to those outside! The room was very clean, in fact, it all looked brand new. I would like to know how they keep all the glass so clean! You wanted for nothing in the room, it was perfect.
We used the spa once. There is a charge for the spa, but we couldn’t find the receptionist on duty so used it anyway. Unfortunately the outdoor Jacuzzi pools were cold, and as we were there in the evenings during September the temperature wasn’t that warm, so we didn’t use them. This was the only thing that let the hotel down. The indoor Jacuzzi pool and sauna was lovely though, large and very warm. There was also an outdoor sunbathing area. There were no other customers in the spa when we were there.
The breakfasts and evening meals were superb! A real credit to the hotel. The breakfasts are huge and can be eaten in the restaurant or delivered to your room for no extra charge. It’s all prepared to order, so make sure you get your order in the evening before. There was a very large selection of food and drinks, freshly squeezed orange juice, the best peaches I’ve ever tasted, lovely cheese and tomato muffins and croissants. The even meals were reasonably priced for a high end restaurant and were beautifully presented. We were very impressed and the level of service in the restaurant was excellent. It’s worth noting the restaurant in the hotel is closed on Sunday evenings, but the hotel staff will recommend a fantastic local restaurant a 5 minute drive away, which really is worth visiting! I had a beautiful huge pizza for about 8 Euros! Beer is good there too!
It is a very small hotel with probably only around 20 or so rooms. The staff are incredibly attentive and have a very personal one to one feel. The atmosphere is very relaxed and calm, everyone is very friendly. It’s a very different place to the larger chain hotels. The staff are all ready and willing to help, or to just chat. Never will you see the staff complaining or looking fed up. There is free wifi in the lobby and after having a Skype conversation with my girlfriend, I chatted to the staff at reception for a couple of hours into the night! The hotel has the feeling of a small business where the staff are very highly motivated, and are striving to be the best in a very competitive market.
I would highly recommend a visit to this hotel, especially for the Italian Grand Prix! The building is so well designed it’s well worth a look round, the rooms are large, comfortable, very clean and modern and the staff were so attentive, helpful and friendly.
I don't think there are any differences in the rooms in the hotel, but best check with the hotel...
