“Lovely room good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

We stayed overnight here We had a lovely room (husbands comments "it's too big" It overlooked the water, was clean, fresh, nice decor
Down side:
Reception not manned three times I went to ask something,
Room had very poor lighting Very dull and not all lights worked (on ceiling)
Breakfast was a little cold

However to end on a high - very good value,Staff excellent especially the young man and woman waiting evening meals, good parking, very good breakfast variety
Well done!

Room Tip: Room 5 was spacious family room could sleep 4 easily

We got married in the Lauriston hotel in July 2010. We had our ceremony, meal & reception there and it was fantastic. The staff were tremendous. The manager at the time Kenny was superb I'm sad to hear he no longer works there. It was a fabulous day and the staff at Lauriston helped make it a great day as nothing was too much bother thanks to all of you xxx

Four of us went for the Friday steak dinner and were staying the night at hotel too. Each of us were very impressed with the choices on the menu, plus the portion sizes. Steaks were to die for, totally amazing. You have got to try them. Compliments to the chef for the full dinner. Bar staff and Jennifer made our night, thank you. Our stay was just as enjoyable, everything was clean and spotless in rooms. Rooms were so spacious with the view looking over the beach and coast line. Would definitely return. A must for when the weather improves in the spring /summer months.

visited this hotel for the first time today for lunch...reasonably priced for two course lunch at £8.95..ordered chicken tempura which was ok but did take some time to arrive...waited another long time for second course (and trying to make cold drink last out for this) my order of macaroni and cheese arrived in a bowl with large slice of crusty bread sitting on top which meant it was a bit soggy! the cheese sauce was very runny and tasteless which I highlighted to the waitress...was asked if I would like something else but by going by my husbands not very appealing food either I declined....disappointing day spoiled by ruined lunch...wont be rushing back!

We stayed here the night before our crossing to Arran. After a long drive with small children it was just perfect - friendly welcome, easy dinner, lovely room with sea view and good value incl breakfast. There was a very clean cot made up for our baby with bedding and room for our toddler's blow up bed. We slept well and it made for a very easy morning having breakfast, then a play in the park opposite, a bit of a walk then catching the ferry 5 mins drive away. Easy parking at the hotel and really fantastic service all round. Food was average but we didn't need much and again the staff were so accommodating with the kids we almost didn't care! Highly recommended.

Excellent dinner. Beautifully presented and reasonably priced. Only fault was we were in the conservatory and although it was a cloudy day the heat was unbearable. There was only one fan and it was to far away to be effective.

I ate in the restaurant at night, nice food, reasonable prices. The staff were very friendly and it was quick service. The room was clean and yummy cookies in a jar for tea and coffee. The tv was tiny but could live with that. Heater/fan provided in room which was good. Would go back, overall a nice stay.
