I stayed at the Auberge Godard while cycling the Ptit Train du Nord trail, as it is one of the recommended properties on their site and has a three star rating (http://www.laurentians.com/parclineaire/info_membre.asp?num=213).
Before you stay at Auberge Godard you should be aware it is no longer owned and managed by the Godard family, but by a couple who speak limited English or French. The property is horribly run-down, the pool was nonoperational (overflowing?) on the day we arrived, the 'sap' or outdoor hot tub was filled with yellow water and had an oily slick across the top (though we were told it was 'ok' to use) and the facility stank of old cigarette smoke. We stayed in rooms 117 and 118, both were dark, dirty and like the rest of the motel - smelled of old cigarette smoke (the rooms are designated non-smoking).
As we were traveling by bicycle, we had no option but to eat in the Godard restaurant. At $25 per entree, I do not expect to hear the sound of a microwave bell to signal the next course.
*** Buyer beware, this property is not as advertised on the internet. ***
