“Absolutely fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

This is a trip not to be missed. We went with Billy Shields from Seahouses and spent an hour on the island. It was amazing how close you can get to the birds and we got some amazing photo's. May is their breeding time so there were plenty of birds to see, my favourite has to be the Puffin.

“Seal and Puffin watching!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013 via mobile

Worth every penny, but do ring first to check sailing times. On the day we went out from the harbour at Amble, at 2:30, we weren't sure until about n hour beforehand that we'd actually sail as there were no other bookings. Fortunately a party of four joined us and at £7 overhead for adults and just £3 for children this was a bargain.
The skipper told me he set up in 1969 and has been taking folk out around Croquet island ever since to see the grey seals, puffins and other seabirds.
He is knowledgeable about the local history and the wildlife. We were out for over an hour and it was a gentle and pleasant experience. They took us really close to birds on the water - lovely to see the famous Puffins in their habitat, although as he explained, numbers have dwindled lately and will probably take years to recover. Well worth a look but ring first!
