I would only recommend staying at this guesthouse if you are happy to deal with owners wearing stained and dirty clothes. The rooms are very small and dated. The 'room with a view' has a view of a carpark. Cleanliness is clearly optional and includes dusty clutter on every surface. Views of the kitchen from the reception area are far from encouraging. Anyone thinking of staying here should check out The Schooner at nearby Alnmouth which is far nicer for not much more money and has friendly staff, clean rooms and is in a far nicer part of Northumberland. A last resort resort.

A very uncomfortable bed (I could feel the springs in the mattress) and a poor breakfast with bad quality ingredients. There was good bike storage. I think you could get better value for money further up the coast.

We stayed here for one night as we were going on the boat trip from the harbour the next day, right on the doorstep virtually for this activity, room was good, everything nice and clean, travelcot was provided on request, we were able to store the pram downstairs which was handy, the breakfast was good, location good for seeing most of amble and on a weekend lovely big car boot sale very closeby, the only recommendation I wouls advise is rooms could possibly do with a booster signal for the tvs as signal strength isn,t great.

Over night stay on the way to tour Scotland.
We were welcomed by the owners and settled on an en-suite twin room, which was both comfortable and spotlessly clean.
After a good nights sleep we had a full English breakfast (highly recommended).
The B&B is in a quiet area and although there is pub across the road we did not notice any noise at all.
Plenty of local eateries including a good fish & chip shop only yards away.
With friendly owners, comfortable rooms and great breakfasts - a great place to stay.

This was the my second stay.Last year I stayed with three friend whilst on a cycling trip.It was very clean and the breakfast was exellent. They provided a place to keep our bycycles.Owners were very friendly they remembered me even though it was a year later.
.There is two pubs across the road. Two chip shops the one next door is awful, but the one up the road that we used last year was good.

Stayed 1 night on business trip to North East and wanted somewhere on the coast.
When I arrived, I was greeted at the door and made the usual check-in, I asked about evening meals etc in the area and was told about the local Italian and a Pub (also owned by the Italians).
I was also given the option to buy a take away meal and eat it in the dining area of the Guest House (they have a Tea Rooms business that is a part of the guest house) I got myself a fantastic portion of Fish & Chips from the chippy that is to the left as you leave the guest house, I ate them in the Tea Rooms and had a few drinks to boot.
Breakfast was excellent, both by quality and choice.
The room that I had was big enough with a large bathroom, it was clean, felt clean and no strange odours, the bed was comfortable.
All in all, a good stay and I will return.
