“paradise found”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

I have just returned from Kuredu, and have to say its wonderful. I flew into Male and was ushered to the sea plane transfer, where the Kuredu lounge offers a drink and a cold towel which is just what you need after a long journey. The seaplane flight was great, and a real experience. Then landing at the jetty, being met by the managers, greeted with drums and the claim of "welcome to paradise" which was found to be justified.
The island is just beautiful. Everything is clean and tidy, from the ladies that sweep up the fallen leaves, to the man that rakes up the sea grass that floats upto the jetty, nothing is left to spoil the pristine island. I didnt wear shoes for the whole holiday, it was wonderful to have that kind of carefree feeling.
The flora and fauna is fantastic especially the sea life, I thoroughly enjoyed the snorkelling, although the wind was a bit strong and for three days snorkelling was not possible. I had some snorkelling trips cancelled, because the sea was to choppy, but I would rather be kept safe. So it was the only disapointment, but could not be helped.
The food was varied, very tasty, and plentiful, I was all inclusive and thought it was really good value for money. The restaurant was nice and my waitress (who's name escapes me) was wonderful.
The room was clean (thank you to my room boy Mahmoud) and the bed comfy. The outside bathroom was very cool. I stayed in a garden bungalow and thought again it was good value for money.
There are lots of trips and activities, so there is no need to be scared of boredom, there is always something to do. I travelled solo, but never felt like an outsider, everyone was really friendly.
I went to swim with turtles, and its definately the place to do that, they are in the lagoon grazing on the sea grass, beautiful graceful creatures.
Overall Kuredu is a beautiful, well run, efficient, and happy place.I would have no trouble in recommending it. Im planning my next trip, ive only been back one day!

Dear Angela,
Thank you for posting a review of your stay at Kuredu Island Resort & Spa last month.
I am delighted that you have recognised the hard work done by our wonderful sweeper ladies and beach cleaners.
Sounds like you had a fantastic time snorkelling with turtles.
As a single traveller we are pleased that you felt comfortable in a resort predominantly occupied by couples.
We look forward to welcoming you back next time.

I spent 10 glorious days on the island to celebrate the marriage to my beautiful Wife in May 2012
It could not have been more idyllic. From the small yet noisy sea plane that took us to our holiday paradise to the greeting team playing drums and singing local songs
The whole island is covered in sand even the restaurants' and bars, so wearing shoes was not only impractical but difficult to, (we found out on our first visit to dinner)
We absolutely adored our beach bungalow with the the netted 4 poster and the outside shower and toilet.
Fabulous special evening thai meal on the beach which will be remembered forever.
Could not recommend it enough

Room Tip: We asked to be relocated as we were 15 minutes from the bar/restaurants', too far to walk at bee...

We´ve been in Kuredu second week of January this year and I have to say " I don´t want to go anywhere else"! We were accommodated in beach villa with beautiful seaview. Our villa was cleaned twice a day. Our room boy was Hassan and he did his job great - I´d take him home if possible:-).
Nice sea, everywhere was tidy, nice staff....nice food. We´ve spent in Kuredu 10 days and every day was some new delicious suprise in kitchen for us.
We went on several excursions: snorkeling with mantas, luxury sailling with amazing crew when we´ve seen mantas, dolphins, had great lunch...
I hope next year I´ll write similar rewiev - just with different date :-))).

Room Tip: Beach villa on the south side

I was lucky enough to spend 9 days on Kuredu last October with my teenage daughter. Initially concerned that we wouldn't find enough to keep us occupied, I can honestly say that we could have easiily stayed for another 9.!! The snorkeling was fantastic, so cool to be able to swim with turtles, rays and sharks right off the beach.
The resort is amazing. It runs like clockwork with friendly, efficient staff, that are clearly happy in their work. The management team are fantastic, you see them trooping down the jetty everytime a plane comes in so that every guest gets a personal welcome committee, as well as a send off on departure too. Nice touch!
The food was amazing - again with fears of 9 days "all inclusive" and the usual repetition this would mean....not at all on Kuredu. Variety was in abundance and never the same meal twice. Great value if you want to stray away from the standard inclusive restaurants and have a la carte, Francos was awesome and worth the small additional charge. Although our nominated restaurant was Bonthi which we loved, it was good to be able to experience the O and Sangu restaurants too for a change of scenery.
The pool bars were my second home, unfortunately I got persuaded by the super friendly bar staff to trade my usual coffee in the morning for a cocktail....well it would have been rude not to!
Special mention to the dilligent locals who keep the island paths and beaches so clean - top job ladies!
All in all, a fantastic island holiday that ticks all the boxes and delivers beyond expectation.

Room Tip: No bad rooms available!

This island is magical we have just got back on monday from our honeymoon I have to say that these fabulous remarkable people are incredible so polite, helpful, friendly nothing is a problem they bend over backwards to help you...the resort is breathtaking we stayed in an o beach villa for a week and our room boy Zakki was a great guy he did everything for us and our waiter Ahoo was a great laugh, he seemed to know just when we needed something we enjoyed his company, Fikry the resort manager was also a real
ly helpful and comical character.
I would recommend the sunset cruise we saw dolphins which almost moved us to tears and the snorkelling is superb anywhere on the island.
We need to mention our first choice rep Consi who met us at Male airport and helped us onto the seaplane he was extremely helpful and rang us twice throughout the week to check we were ok.
I cannot praise all involved enough and this holiday was without doubt our best ever and we are definately booking again

We've just returned from our third trip to Kuredu and are considering booking the fourth for next January.
We stay in the O beach villa and as usual, the standards were very high (although we did try 2 days in the Sulthan Pool Villa and can confirm that they are amazing!). The staff at the O restaurant and bar were excellent, especially the bar staff. One of whom has been there every year we've visited, (Jayantha?), he always remembers us and always makes us feel special.
My husband has dived all over the world, but feels that the quality of the safety and instructors here is far superior.
The cleanliness of the island is great, the food is lovely (although do bring back the non seafood curries, they were my favourites) and the staff invariably delightful. What more could you want?

Room Tip: We have tried the beach bungalows - ok, but we had a restricted view due to the water villa's an...

Dear Dawn,
Thank you for writing a review of your recent 3rd stay at Kuredu Island Resort & Spa.
The Team Members that you mention, will be delighted with your words of praise, especially Barman Jayantha.
With probably the largest and most professional dive operation in the Maldives based at Kuredu, it is a credit to the Prodivers Team that so many diving guests return year after year.
We look forward to welcoming you back for your 4th stay next time.

Have just returned from Kuredu for our fifth time which tells its own story. We took friends with us this year and they were wowed! 137 returners were at the repeaters party.... Need I say more. The beauty of this island is stunning and the friendliness of the staff outstanding. For me there are three parts to the island giving three different experiences so there has to be something for everyone- Central island is the main hub for small shops, reception and the main bar for evening entertainment plus two restaurants, Sangu is the stunning white sand spit with a quiet , calm restaurant and O resort is more windy with the sound of the crashing ocean whilst you eat in another stunning restaurant. There are some restrictions on restaurant usage so be sure to check out what package you are on. There is a great dive centre and for me- a snorkeller- stunning fish just off the island- rays, reef sharks and beautiful fish. We saw dolphins on the sunset cruise just off the lsland! New improvements in the last two years are- free wi if in your rooms, free soft drinks in mini bar and afternoon tea in the main bar- not that you need this! Every night there is a themed night for dinner and the chefs are there cooking " live time" for you. There are also two luxurious spas on the island too! A behind the scenes tour is well worth while - no surprises they have happy staff when you see how the Management do so much for the staff facilities. We tried another island once but for us nothing can come close to Kuredu. It is paradise and has so much to offer. I can't recommend it highly enough. Kuredu- already looking forward to our next trip back! Thank you.

Room Tip: Read the choices closely as packages do vary - you need to be very clear what you are booking as som...
