My husband & I stayed at Kuredu for 6 nights and it was the most amazing and best experience we've ever had. It really was the best, peaceful and relaxing holiday we've ever had I think! We stayed at the Bonthi Beach Bungalow, which is a good bungalow. The island is beautiful! We loved it so much. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. So, so excited and thrilled to be able to go back to Paradise :)

We stayed in Kuredu for 10 nights all inclusive and stayed in beach villa 306 at the O Resort from Jan 5th - 15th, the whole island is amazing, we had a wonderful view of the reef from our room, the room itself was very spacious and clean and had a really nice decking area. The outside bathroom is very private and a really nice experience!

The food available on the all inclusive option was outstanding, there was always plenty of varieties of food options for all different tastes and we often ended up going up 2 or 3 times to the buffet! At first i was sceptical of how good the food would be as it was buffet but I was instantly proved wrong once I tasted it! We ate at the O resort restaurant each day and this is by far the nicest restaurant on the island in my opinion, it's got a lovely vibe and atmosphere, and you can sit out on the outstretched decking which overlooks the tranquil sea. At night they switch on underwater lights which attracts big fish including reef sharks, you could literally watch them for hours!
There are other a la carte restaurants on the island but we never felt a need to use them as the all inclusive option was more than suffice as this included breakfast (8am - 10.30am), lunch (1pm -2.30pm) and dinner (7pm - 9.30pm). Each night there would be a different theme in regards to food at the restaurant i.e. Arabic, Mediterranean, etc. which was also a nice touch.

The all inclusive alcohol options were also very good, the beer options were Carlsberg and Lion, i'm not sure what brands the wine and spirits were but they were still of very good standard, either way we made good use of them all!
For those guests on all inclusive you can now use the beer (4 small cans included in mini-bar), Sprite, Coke, Iced tea and coffee and water free of charge in the mini-bar which was great!

The Kuredu resort base themselves 1 hour ahead of local Maldives time, i'm not sure why they do this as it can make things more confusing as my Iphone would auto adjust to Maldives time only!

We did the sunset cruise and we were lucky enough to see up to 8 dolphins together, other guests we spoke to didn't see any.
We also did the sailing cruise on a boat called Muna, this was a great day out, we stopped off at 5 excellent snorkelling spots including Komandoo resort and got to swim with Manta rays and turtles. We also spotted 2 dolphins!
We also had a massage treatment at the spa which was very relaxing!

We were never once bored on the island as they have a range of activities such as volleyball, football (on a full sized astro pitch), pitch & putt which you can play at night also, pool, fusball and kayaking as well as other water sports such as kite surfing, wind surfing, etc.
They also show Premiership football games live on the weekend on a big screen which was great for me!
We snorkeled in different areas around the island, the visibility wasn't great at the time we were there due to windy conditions so i'd recommend doing the snorkeling trips that are offered there if you are disappointed with the snorkeling available on the island.
The sand bank on the west of the island is the real wow factor on Kuredu, it's absolutely beautiful, we went for walks on it as much as we could, make sure you do this too!

Each night there would be entertainment offered in the Bahuna bar, live band, DJ, Maldives night, were some of the options we had seen but as we were in the O Resort we were never informed of what the entertainment was going to be that night. Even if they had a notice up in the O Resort reception it would have been helpful as we ended up missing the "white night" which is supposed to be one of the best nights there.

The only negative thing I have to say is that we were waiting almost 3.5 hours for our seaplane transfer when we arrived at Male. Luckily enough Kuredu have their own lounge there which has wi-fi and air-con, they provide drinks and snacks also. We felt that we missed out on half of the day because of this wait.

All in all we had an amazing honeymoon at Kuredu and would highly recommend this resort.
The staff were always very friendly and offered a great service.

Hopefully one day we'll get back again to visit again!

P.s Useful tips on what to bring:
- Torches, as it can be quite dark when walking back to your beach villa at night
- Snorkel and mask, to save you paying $5 rental each day
- Pack light, no need for jeans, shoes, etc.

Kind regard,
Andy

Room Tip: Rooms in the O Resort are quieter as they are away from the sea plane arrival and departures.

Dear Andy,
Thank you for the wonderful review of your Honeymoon vacation spent at Kuredu.
It sounds like you had a great stay and got to experience so many different facilities and activities that are available here, which is one of the unique features of Kuredu, over other, smaller resorts in the Maldives.
The +1 hour time difference from Male allows our guests to benefit from a longer day as it stretches the sunkissed afternoons up until sunset at between 7.00pm-7.30pm at the expense of an earlier sunrise.
We hope to welcome you back one day perhaps to celebrate a special Wedding Anniversary.

Regards,
Ken Flockhart,

This is my 2nd review of Kuredu - we were lucky enough to visit the island back in December 2011, and we loved it so much, that we decided to return for Christmas 2013.

The island was even more beautiful, more amazing than I'd remembered. I was so blown away last time, that it was almost overwhelming. This time we knew what to expect, we knew where everything was - and so we just switched into "relax" mode immediately :) It really was the best holiday we've ever had I think!

There was a food "street market" put on halfway through our holiday to raise money for a charity - and I have to say it was definitely a highlight of our trip. There were so many different stations representing all different countries - from Sri Lanka to Paris, to India, China and even England! The food was absolutely amazing, and all the staff worked so hard to make it such a wonderful evening.

The wildlife on the island never fails to amaze me - and we once again got to experience seeing Tropic birds flying over you head everyday, huge pods of dolphins, big fruit bats smiling at you in the trees just a few feet away, countless baby (very harmless!!) sharks, lizards and the cutest geckos ever! I was so happy to hear the Kohl bird again with their crazy monkey-sounding call! Love it!!!

in 2011 when we stayed in Kuredu, we stayed on the Sangu side of the island, where all the watersports are taking place, and close to all of the main bars and restaurants - which is fantastic. Absolutely stunning part of the island, with the widest, and prettiest beaches.
However, we did realise this time that we actually prefer the O resort for an even more peaceful and relaxing holiday.

The food was brilliant again. Breakfast has every choice you could possibly think of. For lunch I usually ate salad of some description, although there of course were other options, and the evening meals vary with a different country theme each night.

When we did find ourselves tiring a little of the buffet, or wanting a more romantic meal - we ate at Francos restaurant. We LOVE Francos, and don't mind paying a little extra for such fantastic food. Prices for a meal for 2 people (inc drinks of course) we found to be approx. £15 - £20.

The staff at kuredu really make your holiday extra special, and nothing is too much trouble for them.
A special thanks also to Darshan - the best barman on the island! He remembered us immediately from our previous visit 2 years ago, which was lovely :)
Our room boy Hassaan, who did a fantastic job for us while we stayed at the sangu side,
And Lailith who has the friendliest smile, and always made us feel welcome. Manmun from the O resort shop who gave us new puzzles or riddles to solve.. and kept us busy ;) and everybody else that I haven't mentioned. Thanks for everything guys!

We had so much fun in December 2013 ....that when we returned from our holiday in the first week of January this year, we actually already booked our next holiday. For Kuredu AGAIN in December 2014! YAY!! We can't wait. So, so excited and thrilled to be able to go back to Paradise!!

Only 337 days until we return *stares at calendar* ;) haha!!

See you then Kuredu!

Gemma & John Harrison.

Thank you for giving a special mention to your Room Boy Hassaan, the very popular Mamun in the Gift Shops and the likeable Bar duo of Darshana and Lalith.

My wife & I stayed at Kuredu for 4 nights and it was the most amazing and best experience we've ever had. Since we had the All Inclusive we were able to eat as much as we want during the breakfast, lunch and dinner hours and also drink as much as we wanted. We stayed at the Sulthan Pool Villa, which is the highest accommodation and Kuredu. We had our own pool which was nice. The island is beautiful! We had such an awesome time. We had a complimentary 30 minute photography session, massages, and had access to watersports. There was also a DJ night by the main pool the 2nd night we were there.

The views from the seaplane are breathtaking! The transfers there and back were organized very well. All the staff were welcoming and helpful.

We highly recommend Kuredu to anyone and everyone who loves an island getaway!

Dear Tom,
Thank you for the concise review of your recent stay at Kuredu Island Resort & Spa.
It is a pity that your stay was so short especially as you would have experienced the height of luxury in one of our Sulthan Pool Villa's.
It looks like you may have travelled a long way to come to the Maldives but we hope to have another opportuntiy to welcome you back.

This was our 3rd visit to Kuredu however this time it was for our honeymoon!

We booked to stay between the 23rd December and 4th January meaning we got to experience the island over Christmas and New Year.

We had a few issues getting to Kuredu as it was very windy when we arrived at Male and the sea planes were cancelled and we were put in a speed boat to Meeru for the night. This was tone of he worst experiences I have ever had, we were told the journey was 15 minutes and it was an hour in pitch black and very rough sea, there were grown men crying and screaming it was horrific.

Meeru seemed lovely but we just wanted to get home to Kuredu and even though we arrived a day late we were so glad to be back.

We stayed in water villa 520 which was greathaving baby reef sharks swimming by during the day and our friendly Trigger Fish who came to see us everytime we went in the water, speaking to the Pro Divers team they said that he was probably looking for food as some guests feed the fish from the Villas which is not allowed.

Christmas in the Maldives was awesome, from watching Santa arrive by spped boat, the street party, White night, to New years eve everyday was brilliant.

As everyone else has said again the food is fantastic so much choice I wish I could eat there everyday.

As other guests have said though the main reason Kuredu is so good is the staff they are all so friendly and it was a pleasure to sit and talk with them each evening.

Just a few names I would like to mention-
Shiham in Sangu Restuarant was a diamond he made us laugh everyday and went out of his way to make us happy.
Also special mentions to Nirosh, Lesley, Darsh, Pradeep, Iresh, Sarath, Lucky, Lilaith, Bobin, Nicky, Krishna, Jaya, Bandura and I am sure loads more that I have forgotten.

Pro Divers - Mueen and Yaafish always a pleasure to see you both. Swen thanks for the dive.

Also a massive thanks to Ken for looking after us and putting our honeymoon back on track.

So many happy memories from Kuredu and hopefully we will be back again someday, we miss you already.

Room Tip: All acomodation is great I would sleep on the beach just to be back there

We started going to Kuredu back in May 2007 and we have been hooked ever since and have returned every May since then. This year, as they were celebrating their 25th Anniversary, we decided to bite the bullet and book again for December 2013. We landed in Paradise on 9 December and were there for two weeks. Like always, as soon as you step onto that jetty, you just go into "relaxation mode". The celebrations ran from 9 - 14 December and there was something special organised for each of those days. When we landed on 9 December, that was the beginning of the celebrations which kicked off in style with the "Street Market" and "Kuredu's Got Talent" - what a way to start our holiday! Fantastic food stalls were set out with food from every part of the world you could think of and then Bangladesh won "Kuredu's Got Talent". The next day, a "Repeater's BBQ" had been arranged on a uninhabited island and we were all taken across by boat by transfers that were arranged every hour. There were only about 70 of us and there were different food stations to chose from dotted around the Island and you could even get a free neck and shoulder massage by the girls from the Spa! Boat transfers back to Kuredu were organised every hour - and we got to the island around 11am. We decided to stay there for the whole day and get the last boat back at 4pm - and how glad are we that we got the last boat back, as this meant we had to be transferred back to Kuredu ..... ON THE MONSOON!!!! Gayan gave us a tour of this beautiful boat and it took us about 40 minutess to get back to Kuredu - what a way to finish off such another perfect day - but to top it even further ..... we had DOLPHINS escorting us back to Kuredu - such a wonderful day! Then the next day we had "Gladiator Night" where staff members dress up and try and knock each other of their podiums - we all bought tickets for the Gladiator we wanted to win and all the money raised went to the charity that Kuredu sponsor - we raised quite a bit of money that night :@) Then the next night was an 80s Pool Party around the Main Pool which was great fun - everyone loves 80s music hey? Then the next night was Silver Night where you had a Gala Dinner provided for you in your allocated Restaurant followed by a "Silver Night Party" in the Barbuna - which was AMAZING ..... the decorations were fantastic and everything was drenched in silver - such a great night. Then the next day was the "Six aside Cricket Match" - my hubby had been on to Ken, the GM, for quite a bit about getting a set of cricket nets erected so that the staff could use them in their free time. True to his word, the nets were ready for opening on the Friday and my hubby was asked to cut the ribbon and open the nets - he felt really honoured to do this. Then he bowled the first ball to Chef Owen, and then it was time to start playing the matches. Sri Lanka won (no surprise there!) and my hubby presented Suresh, the Sri Lankan Captain, with the winning trophy which was, appropriately, a cricket stump. Then to hubby's surprise, he was also presented with a cricket stump, which they actually had engraved from him - what a lovely touch! A great afternoon was had by all. Then on the Friday evening it was "White Party Night". They guys work sooooo hard to decorate the Bar - they finished work at 3am after the "Silver Party Night" and before they went off to bed, they were putting up decorations for the next party. WOW - what a first week :@O Our second week we just chilled and sat back and appreciated how lucky we were to be there for the second time in one year ;@) Our main reason for returning to this wonderful Island is the Staff ...... they are truly amazing and we are soooo lucky to call them our friends. In fact, as Ken put it at the Repeater's Party, it's our "Kuredu Family" :@) The food is just fantastic - so much choice, the Island is kept so clean, the Staff can't do enough for you - nothing is to much. They work so hard and always have a smile on their faces :@) It doesn't matter what accommodation you stay in - they are all lovely and we always say, so long as we can afford to get back to see our friends/family in Paradise, we would be quite happily to sleep on the beach ;@) If you have never been before - BOOK IT - you really won't be disappointed. For those of you who have been before, you'll know what I'm talking about. Thanks to Ken and his wonderful staff for what was our best ever holiday to Kuredu ...... we can't wait to see you in May ...... 111 days and counting :@D Luv Tina & Pete xx

Room Tip: You won't be disappointed with any accommodation you are allocated

Dear Tina & Pete,
Wow! what can I say, other than "thank you" for sharing with others the wonderful expereince you had in Kuredu during our 25th Anniversary celebrations last month.
Probably the opening of our cricket nets was the highlight for Pete and I am very grateful for the pressure he put on me to introduce such a facility for our Team Members. Just like with our FIFA standard football pitch, we probably now have the best practice cricket facility of any resort in the Maldives. Perhaps we should invite the England Cricket Team for some off season training!
As you have so kindly expressed, it is the people that you meet here that become friends for life, whether they be other guests or our amazing Team Members, that makes a vacation at Kuredu so special.
Your family here are eagerly waiting your return visit in May.

Regards,
Ken Flockhart,
