Where to start?
We were celebrating our Silver Anniversary and wanted somewhere in the Maldives, we chose Kuredu Island Resort and Spa and we weren't disappointed.
Prior to leaving we e mailed the island to request a Beach Bungalow with an uninterrupted view for which we got a prompt reply that our request had been noted.
We arrived at Male and transferred to their lounge to await our seaplane transfer, we we given cold water and flannels to freshen up which was most welcome.
Transfer was perfect, upon arrival we were met at the seaplane by staff members and then walked down the jetty towards reception where we were met by staff playing drums and clapping which was a pleasant welcome.
We were given room 437 and then taken to our Beach Bungalow by golf buggy. The location was perfect, even if we had the option to upgrade we would have said no thanks, 24 paces to the sea and just a couple of trees in our view, a stunning view to wake up to every morning.
As we were celebrating our 25th as was the resort, we were given a 1 hour spa for which we chose the Balinese and over water, we did this the day after arrival and was just fantastic, a great start to the holiday, the ladies were great...gents make sure you wear something under your shorts otherwise you get to wear a pair of unflattering black paper pants:)
We ate at the Bonthi restaurant every meal time, the choice was excellent and enough to suit everyone's taste.
Kiron was the chef that did eggs for breakfast, toasters for lunch and pasta and he is great, always has a smile on his face.
We spent most of our evenings drinking at the pool bar, and the guys there we friendly, helpful and funny, so thanks to Pradeep, Musharaf aka Mr President, Thushan, Shahin and Jewel for keeping the drinks flowing and being a big part of our holiday.
Snorkelled every day outside our bungalow and saw turtles, large black tip sharks and plenty of fish.
We did some trips, Dolphin Safari was fantastic, lasted an hour and we saw dozens, well worth the $44 each, also did the Manta Ray snorkel, saw a couple from the surface, plenty more Dolphins and then snorkelled at Komandoo Reef (their sister resort) which again was simply stunning.
Prodivers were also excellent, did the free introduction to snorkelling followed by a reef snorkel with them and then did a night snorkel the next evening - money well spent.
Adam our room boy looked after our room exceptionally well, twice a day and always immaculate.
Sorry to go on but finally, I have never seen so many people keep the island tidy and clean, the ladies that rake the sand and leaves, the men that clean the sea grass off the beach and all the staff that always said hello.
Would we go again, yes, there are other places I would also like to visit, but Kuredu was superb and I'd definitely like to return. If you're thinking of going I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this resort.

Our second visit to the Maldives and a Great Holiday, Sea plane transfer was a little long but amazing views
Food was Good and plenty of choice for a weeks stay
Inner island water was crystal clear however where we stayed in water villas it was very cloudy at times due to pumping of sand, not the end of world but just took the edge of if your are a keen snorkeler
Themed nights were good with music and dressy evenings
As its a big Island it is quite busy but never had any issues finding quiet spot to relax
We stayed in a water villa which was spacious and well equipped
Only small downsides, WIFI is a real pain to use as signal poor in most places and not free in rooms, Thought it would be a bit smarter dress code in evening but shorts and bare feet are sufficient in restaurants most of the time.
Overall a good choice and would definitely recomend

Kuredu is the perfect holiday destination. We spent our honeymoon here in September 2012 and have dreamed of returning ever since. The seaplane transfer is fantastic and you receive brilliant service as soon as you land. We were welcomed with cocktails and directed into the restaurant for lunch which is exactly what we needed when we arrived. We were then taken to out beach Jacuzzi villa number 157 and wowed by the beautiful presentation of the room. Our Jacuzzi had sented oil and fresh flower petals ready to use by the Jacuzzi and where told our bags would arrive shortly after as they'd been taken by boat. (Lucky we both packed swim where and bought shorts and a dress at Gatwick so we had something to change into )
our welcome meeting was great not to long to take time away from the holiday but enough to give us the perfect information for making the most of out time there. We used the garden spa which was the perfect way to begin the holiday with champagne and beautiful aromas and you are not rushed to leave ,we stayed at least an hour after our treatment sipping champagne and really relaxing. We made use of the free snorkelling Lesson they provide, and they are very good at calming anyone who might be nervous in deep water. It's amazing to see the marine life out there and you can lose yourself for hours in the sea. Kayaking was also great ,brilliant way to see turtles feeding on the seagrass. We also did the Robinson Crusoe trip. If you have chance it's out if this world ,they packed up more than enough food and drink and took us by speed boat to the most interesting little island. We had a mobile phone with the receptionist number in case we wanted to ring back and be picked up early but other wise it was just the two of us for the day. Well worth the money.
In the evening they're great at giving enough entertainment or if you fancy someplace quite the tea house at the end of the pontoon serves delicious liqueur coffees and is peaceful watching the sea life swim by as the flood lights attracted the fish. We regularly seen turtles ,nurse shark ,tuna , rays and plenty more exotic fish of an evening.
The arts and craft classes and food classes by the pool are fab , we paid about $2 each as a donation and they really get you involved with making bits and Bob's.
The villa was cleaned twice a day and also by friendly staff. The surrounding areas of the island where beautifully cleaned .
The food in all restaurant was just fantastic and the sunset cocktails in coconuts where a must have.
All in all if your wanting to visit the maldives but concerned you won't have enough to do and might be bored kuredu is the perfect island ,there is always something going on or water sports to do alternatively if you want to relax and not see a single sole all day it's easily achieved to keep yourself to yourself.
We will be returning to this fantastic island and would recommend to any one who wants the perfect honeymoon

Room Tip: The new o villas are on the windy side of the island so go for the kosmas villas you on the calm sid...

I will keep this short and sweet. This resort ticks all the boxes and I wish it was closer so I could return more often. AMAZING in every way. It truly is heaven on earth. Being your own snorkel, plenty of sun cream, no need for shoes at all, a few books to read and let the island do the rest. Only complaint is that the mini bar is expensive.

We were so excited to be spending our honeymoon in the maldives!!
I was a bit nervous about the long haul flight but in actual fact it was fine. We flew with Qatar Airways and the aircraft was spacious, comfortable and they looked after us throughout the flight.
We eventually arrived at Male Airport where we were taken to an air conditioned lounge to be served cold drinks and given a cold flannel from the fridge (just what we needed) we had to wait 1 hour 45 minutes for our sea plane which wasn't too bad as other couples we had spoken to had to wait longer.
The sea plane was a great experience!
On arrival to kuredu we were greeted by staff and taken to the main bar/reception area where bongos were being played. We were served a drink and taken on a buggy to the O'resort where we were staying.
Our first impressions of the island were that it was absolute paradise!!!!
We stayed in a beach villa but were contemplating to upgrade to the jacuzzi beach villa, there was really no need as the O'beach villa's are lovely and we also preferred this side of the island as we had a great view of the sunset.
The restaurant in the O'resort was excellent as well as all of the food and staff.
We particularly enjoyed the pool party and the white party, we assumed it would be very quiet during the evenings but there really is something for everyone.
Can I highly recommend the Far East Restsurant the food was superb!!
All staff are so friendly and they make you feel very welcome. Whoever looked after our room was excellent and so efficient, I've never stayed anywhere where they clean your room twice a day and they seemed to know exactly when you were leaving so they didn't disturb you at any time.

The only recommendation I would make is having some kind of bar on the beach throughout the day as you don't always want to go back and forth to the bars.

We will definitely be returning to Kuredu in the future hopefully for a special anniversary.

Thank you!!!

this was supposed to be the holiday of a lifetime! My wife and I planned this to the finest detail including our Renewal of Vows during our stay. From the moment we arrived at the Hilton Hotel @ Mcr Airport for our overnight stay before our flight we knew we had picked a "winner".
We flew with Emirates on the A380. What an experience. Unbelievable! Dubai airport for our flight change was out of this world. I could have stayed there for a week! Flight to Male was again exceptional in both comfort and service. After landing in Male the holiday got even better. We had a simple short transfer to Trans Maldivian Airways terminal for our Sea Plane transfer to Kuredu. The service in the lounge was amazing. We had a wait of about 90 minutes but we were served with drinks and refresher towels throughout this time. The flight on the sea plane was beyond all expectations. The landing was spectacular and the aproach to Kuredu looked just like the pictures in the brochures. Our welcome on the island was great. No long drawn out procedures, just a quick presentation of the island and we were allocated a host to get us to our Villa. We were transported to our villa on the island electric buggies and our luggage followed just after. The Villa was amazing. Just as the brochures described. We dined in all the restaraunts on the island but our favourite was Sangu restatarunt. The staff were fantastic. The food was amazing. The service was first class. This was the first holiday we have been on were we could have stayed on. We had the best two weeks with no hassle, no worrying about finding somewhere nice to eat. Peace and quiet and relaxation. The cleanliness of the island was amazing. The beach was cleaned every day to remove leaves that had fallen overnight. We will definately be going back in 2015.

Room Tip: We stayed in a jacuzzi beach villa (152). This was perfectly situated for Sangu restaraunt.

I don't have words to describe the fabulous Kuredu. But I still will do it to benefit other travellers. These guys are just soo happy having us there. They make us feel good about being there. Right from the welcome group playing drums and dancing when we arrive to the island host or the bar tenders or even house keeping. This was our honeymoon and it was just awesome to be at Kuredu. We initially stayed at the O beach villa and then the Sanghu water villa. Both are just fantastic. The view of the lagoon from anywhere on the island is just picture perfect.. I liked the bed and sleep quality at O villa better than the water villa. My wife liked water villa bed better. We tried all the main restaurants. Food is similar everywhere. Location, view and experience wise O restaurant is the BEST followed by Sanghu restaurant. We had sea turtles and baby reef sharks visiting by while dining at O restaurant. Just walk by the beach and you will spot many colourful fishes, baby sharks and sting rays. There was a resident sea turtle always living just outside our water villa. The O spa is the best. We had the over water him n her spa treatment. It was just Blissfull. The therapist's from Bali (gusti and scialong) are the best ever. The daily live entertainment at babuna bar is great. Everyone is so well organised and knows to make sure they give us the best experience. I don't know what else the other resorts have to offer but this was just too good.

Couple of things that can make Kuredu even better are
1. All inclusive package should include even the ala carte restaurants and all drinks instead of the limited options.
2. We had to check out at 10.30am Male time for our return flight at 3.45pm. Hope they can figure out a way to make this a little better.

Overall, I would recommend everyone to visit Kuredu and enjoy their hospitality. I will surely return.

Dear Guest,

Warm greetings from your holiday destination in the Maldives.

We thank you very much for the honest review you have made of your holiday with us in September this year. We are delighted to note that you enjoyed all aspects of your stay. We are very happy to note the impact our team members have made to make you holiday all the more special.

Yes, the 'O' Beach Villas and the Water Villas are very unique in their character and composition. The 'O' Resort associates very well with the 'O' Beach Villas in their decor and ambiances.

Our all inclusive package is designed in a manner that you get an opportunity to experience most of the facilities that the resort features within the package. This we have attempted to make it as clear as possible by specifying the contents of the package. We also have a higher all inclusive package that does include a meal in The Franco's, mini bar, cocktails, etc. The more that we add into the package, the more expensive the holiday tends to get. It is our opinion that rather the guests have an option to pay for only those facilities that they use.

The sea plane transfers are scheduled as per the daily arrival and departure schedules of our guests. As late departure flights are not very popular among our guests, the options for evening departures are very limited. As we are one of the very few resorts that charter air crafts to provide transfer, it is economically viable only when we have the minimum number of guests.

Maldives being a nation with 99% water, it has it's own challenges, which we believe makes the destination even more exciting and unique.

We are sure that when you holiday in the Maldives next, with the experiences you have now had, you would enjoy the destination a lot more. We look forward to welcoming you again.

Warm regards,
Chris Nargunam
