This is a very well managed facility. We were two couples that came from a business meeting on another island and spent three days at the Yacht Club, after seeing it on the internet. The website photos of the facility are exactly what this place looks like. In reading other reviews, its not clear if the cottages over the water have full bathrooms; they do. They have a toilet, sink, and shower. They also have a refrigerator, AC and ceiling fan.
The Yacht Club referred us to a pilot to fly us in to Stanial Cay, John Chamberlain. We were promptly met at the airstrip by Yacht Club staff with a couple of golf carts to haul us the short distance to the rooms.
The rooms were clean and well maintained. The owners recently built a small swimming pool and concrete deck in the common area behind the rooms. The view from the waterfront rooms is spectacular. The prevailing wind hits the far side of the island, so the water at the Yacht Club is normally calm. You are facing west, so the ocean sunset views from the balcony will make you reach for a camera.
Your rooms are literally a few dozen paces from the bar and restaurant.
The horse shoe bar's ceiling features signed flags from the yachts that constantly come to call at the marina. The bar and restaurant's staff are very friendly. The food in the restaurant will exceed your expectations. Its simple and the menu is limited, but what they serve will blow you away.
The club can rent various sized runabouts to go snorkling and to visit the nearby "Thunderball Grotto". The predominant ground transport is the golf cart and the club will rent you one to explore the island. The whole island is beautiful and the people are wonderful. Another reviewer recommended attending the church service, if you are there over a Sunday. We will second that reviewer's comments as a great experience.
Bottom line is that this is an incredible deal for the money. This is a great place to re-charge your batteries, catch up on some reading, and relax with someone special.
