We were not guests of Grand Isle Resort but went Twice in our week long stay April 28th - May 5th. We were thrilled with the atmosphere and the view to start with but were most impressed with the friendly service and the amazing food. The prices were right about where all the restaurants price food, an entree on average is about $26.00 and alcoholic drinks were $5-$10. This was the best food for the money in my opinion.
Our first time we were slightly disappointed that they were completely out of chicken but understandable as The Regatta was just ending. Three of us had the Seafood Fettuccine and really enjoyed it, but agreed it could have used more shrimp (only 3) and lobster for the price. My Mother-in-law had the Jerk Beef Tenderloin and it was amazing!
When we went back on our last night she had the chicken she wanted and it was really good. My Husband and Father-in-law had the Jerk Tenderloin (and gave me a bite or two) and we all agreed it was the best steak any of us had ever had. It was cooked perfect even though the cuts were very thick, and the meat was melt in your mouth tender. The flavors were amazing. I had the Pan Seared Grouper and not only was the plating extremely beautiful but the fish tasted amazing, especially with the Bahamian salsa. The julienne carrots and squash were even amazing!
I highly recommend this restaurant and suggest reservations, there are few tables but so worth it! We were staying at a private property near Moss Town and found this place easy to get to and it was not a long drive. I think this place deserves a higher ranking overall for the restaurants on the island, but assume that it is somewhat of a hidden gem.
