“Cozy and comfortable cottage”

This place is perfect if you want a quiet and private cottage near the ocean. The location indicated by the TripAdvisor website is nowhere near the ocean but the property is, in fact, right by the sea across from the Moriah Cay. Although there is no direct ocean view from the cottage you will get a breath-taking grand view of the Moriah Harbor Cay and the nearby islands from a deck located just about 30 feet away from the cottage. Just a short walk down the hill, there is a private dock with 3 kayaks. We went to Moriah Cay almost everyday where there is absolutely beautiful beach on the northern side. There are tons of colorful fish right near the dock along the rocky shore. The owner, Johanna is really nice and helpful. Johanna, sorry again for dropping your keys in the water. We tried to find it multiple times...
Also, Johanna will let you use a cell phone that you can keep during the stay. You can make a phone call to restaurant or boat tour, diving tour etc.

You will need a rental car at this location and it will cost about $60 per day. The cottage is well equipped with most of kitchen utensils so that you can buy fresh sea foods from George Town (a "pink" salon and seafood place across from the grocery market) and cook it yourself. We got 2 lobster tails and a large piece of snapper fish for $20. Make sure you visit the restaurant called "La Shante" on the way to Little Exuma. Not the greatest food but breath-taking beach in the backyard. We got really good photos there. Talk to the owner. He's very interesting.
You need to bring insect repellent if you're well liked by the bugs.

We just returned and loved staying at Sweet Ting!
It is located on the eastern end of the island which is less developed but has some great deserted beaches. We never saw more than 2 other people on the spectacular beaches!
The cottage itself was modern, well equipped, clean and very comfortable. Situated on a hill above Moriah harbor it does not have water views but there is a guest's deck that has great views of the water.

We loved using the kayaks to the beaches across the bay and I enjoyed using them to get to great fishing spots where I caught (and released) barracuda, jacks and even a big bone fish!!

Johanna was a great host and we enjoyed the company of her 2 lovable dogs and cat who visited us at times.

“Absolutely Wonderful!!! Sweet Ting was just perfect for my husband and I!”

Johanna you have an amazing home, and Jimmy and I cannot thank you enough for allowing us to stay in your "Sweet Ting" cottage. We love everything about it, and the location is hard to beat. If you do not want to follow the herd to Sandals, I recommend staying at "Sweet Ting" and renting a car from Thompson Car Rental. We were able to explore the island and all it's beautiful beaches! It was absolutely perfect and private. We arrived in June when most tourists had left, which made our vacation experience so much better because we got to meet many locals and really get a feel for the local culture.
No one excepts credit cards except for car and boat rental companies and there are no atms. At least we did not see any. So bring cash. I recommend "Sweet Ting" to any and every couple! It is the best rental on the island, and Johanna is such a delight, and she will help you with any questions you may have!!! We will definitely be going back!

Management Response
Jul 3, 2012
Thank you so much for the wonderful review of my place and Exuma!
It was delightful meeting you and seeing how much you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry you missed the atm machines in town. There are two of them located right in GeorgeTown, so no need for lots of cash. I sincerely hope you will find your way back to us in the not too distant future. But until that time, best wishes to both of you!

“Secluded, luxury accommodation, private dock, amazing views!”

Sweet Ting cottage is a private one bedroom separate building near the main house. It's a short walk downhill (you need to have good knees!) to your private dock with spectacular views of nearby cayes in Moriah Harbour. Literally no one around; we saw 3 or 4 fishing boats go by the whole time! Johanna was so friendly and helpful with some groceries and calling cabs etc. The location is fairly isolated and in retropect we should have rented a car. There is a small convenience shop with groceries about a 10-15 minute walk. The cottage was well appointed, clean, beautifully decorated and has a nice deck on the side. The room was cool enough with the fans on but did have AC available. We did a great deal of snorkelling off the dock finding lots of underwater wildlife, including a resident barracuda that was often found under the dock! We made a tough swim across the water to Man-O-War caye, which was worth the exertion! An isolated white sand beach all to yourself! You have to catch high tide to make it there. The highlight of this rental is definitely her two 'guard' dogs, also known as potcakes in Bahamain lingo. They were the sweetest, friendliest dogs who made us feel very welcome. We have pets at home and it was nice to have them 'adopt' us for the week! The sea kayaks were available but we found the water a bit too choppy most days. I would highly recommend this place if you are interested in a quiet, beautiful location in the Exumas and have a love for animals and the outdoors. The cottage was very comfortable for two people and the price is fantastic for the value of the property. If we find ourselves on this part of the island again, we would definitely book here again!

“Perfect Babymoon!”

My husband and I were looking for the perfect spot to relax and spend time together before our first child arrives. Sweet Ting is exactly what we were looking for! The host, Johanna, is very gracious and helpful. She updated us on the holiday schedule and arranged for the fridge to be stocked to get us through the Easter holiday (the island shut down for two days).

Each morning we drank coffee on a picturesque deck and enjoyed the view of Moriah Harbor. We were kept company by two very sweet "potcakes" (Bahamian dogs) that live on the premises. The cottage really has everything you could need and then some. I highly recommend you take advantage of the kayaks and explore the harbor.

The location is great. The famous Santana's beach bar is not far up the road and serves the best cracked lobster. You also are a short distance to the best beach on the island, Tropic of Cancer. Some days we had the entire beach to ourselves.

We are not resort people and had no interest to see Sandals or the other resort areas on the island. When you stay at Sweet Ting you really have no reason to venture too far. Thank you Johanna!

“Relaxing, super-comfortable cottage with gorgeous views”

Such a lovely, peaceful spot with beautiful landscaping and thoughtful touches throughout the space—tons of pillows, towels, kitchen supplies, several overhead fans, kayaks you can use to explore the sand flats...even two Kaliks waiting in the fridge. Was more comfortable and prettier than the highly-rated hotel where we stayed earlier in the week, and the views of Moriah Harbour are truly special. We'd love to go back!

“A Charming, idyllic getaway!!!”

My husband and I were so lucky to find the Sweet Ting guest cottage online on the beautiful island of Exuma. We booked in November for our March trip, and the wonderful owner, Johanna, was so helpful with all of our questions prior to our visit. The cottage is even more beautiful than the pictures! It's decorated in a charming "Island" style with comfortable furnishings and unique artwork hand-selected by Johanna, We immediately felt right at home! We had breakfast every morning on the spacious sundeck, and even took our meal (or happy hour cocktails) up to our own private deck overlooking the stunning views of white sand islands and turquoise waters of Moriah Harbour. We also enjoyed snorkeling and kayaking right off our private dock and saw lots of beautiful fish and corals in our own "front yard"! It was a lovely, relaxing vacation spent sunning, swimming, exploring, eating fabulous fresh seafood (gotta try the "cracked lobster" at Santana's), and sampling the island's best....Kalik beer and Goombay Smashes!! MANY thanks to Johanna for her welcoming and gracious hospitality, and visits from her sweet rescue dogs, Sophie and Lucky! We absolutely LOVED our time spent there!!!!
