“Great Location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

My boyfriend and I (late 20's) traveled to Exuma for our 1st time in October 2012. We did a lot of research on were we wanted to stay and this was a great choice. We rented a car and drove the whole Island and stopped at every beach and historical sight we could find. Nancy (our host) was spectacular. We were really only at her place to sleep and then hit the road all 6 days. Nancy also has great advice on beaches and places to go to eat. When we arrived Nancy was out watering her plants and she was just so pleasant. I would recommend this place to anyone. Not only does it have the best view on the Island, but it is such a good location to get to Chat & Chill (a must) and Little Exuma, and is in walking distance to downtown (2 minute). Hope you get the chance to meet Nancy, you will not be disappointed!

4 years since our first visit to Exuma & Regatta Point, we again chose to stay with Nancy in RP because we loved it so much the first time! Again we spent 2 weeks here, this time in Suite C, downstairs.

Suite C was lovely & spacious, bigger than Suite A with stunning views over to Stocking Island. The rooms are airy with fans in the ceiling & stand alone fans in case it gets really warm, but it never was when we visited, the temperature was perfect. Everything you need for looking after yourself & cooking is included and the Exuma Markets store is only a few minutes walk away. Elvis' water taxi to Stocking Island is also only 5 minutes away, so is handy to just go & ask when he's making the next trip, then go back to RP to get your stuff!

Nancy is so helpful also. Our phones didn't work the entire visit, but anytime we needed to call to book trips on the island, we just used her phone. We also rented her boat for the day rather than use Minns this time. On a couple of occasions we had dolphins swim right past the front of the suite and almost go into the marina so you could snorkel around them. There's also a turtle in and around the marina, but he was harder to find when snorkeling! But you could see him popping his head up while waiting for the water taxi!

Nancy also has two fab cats so you'll love it if you're a cat person! One is a gorgeous Himalayan and the other a domestic ginger. Both very friendly!

There's no wifi or tv, but this suited us fine. And if you need to use wifi, Peace & Plenty 5 mins away has some for $5 an hour.

Thanks again for our wonderful stay Nancy, & we'll see you next time we visit the island!

Room Tip: We liked Suite C's open layout, but think we preferred Suite A which we stayed in on our first v...

Regatta Point is a perfect place to relax for a few days. We were in a huge apartment with a kitchen, two toilets, three large beds, in a beautiful setting on a little peninsula. The place is close to George Town where we could shop for supplies and organize trips to other Exuma islands.

Nancy was also very helpful - she managed to help us find our baby's hat we thought we had lost after the tour a day ago, within 2 hours of us telling her, and it appeared in the airport just as we were about to leave!

Just got back from a great stay at Regatta Point. If you are looking for a great base camp to venture out from in Exuma at a reasonable price point, look no further. As other reviewers have indicated, Nancy will do her best to ensure her guests have a great time in Exuma. The staff at Regatta Point are all friendly and courteous.

Regatta Point is one of the loveliest buildings we saw in Exuma. This Beautiful house with its pretty backyard is almost surrounded by the sea and gives you the feeling that you stay on a boat. We stayed in suite 4, where you can face the sunrise while you are lying in your bed. Because of the gloomy and windy weather we were very happy to have such a nice accommodation with spacious rooms and a fully equipped kitchen. Just as well we enjoyed sitting on our porch, overlooking the water and having this place all for ourselves. Nancy was a warm and genial host and made us feel at home. First of all we are very grateful that she saved us from starving on our arrival by bringing us Vanilla Coffee, bread, eggs and so on. Furthermore she was so kind to drive us the whole way to our next accommodation because we traveled without a car. Thank you so much, we had a great time!

This is the best accomodation in Exuma and only after being there you realise it since by visiting the website you can only have a vague idea.
Accomodation: Choose apartment 3 or 4 (or better) they are very nice and confortable. Preparing something to eat there is more appealing than going out to restaurant (expecially in August when most of them are closed). It is built and furnished with a typical english style, in a very quite place surrounding by woods, gardens and the sea (it is like you are in a private island, 5 minutes walk from the village of George Town) On the back side of the villa you have a a beatiful garden with high trees that arrives to "your" private little beach.
Nancy, the owner is very helpful and kind and makes you feel at home. From a logistic point of view it is very convenient. The taxi boat to Stocking Island leaves 100 metres from the villa. This means that when you decide to go to stocking island (and you will go there most of the times) you do not need to rent a car just to reach george town. You save money of cars and restaurants and stay in the most beautiful villa we have seen in Exuma. She can also rent you a boat (cheaper than other places).

Room Tip: Stay in Room 3 or 4 (first floor) or in the suite.

We loved Regatta Point and Exuma. Nancy was great and helped answer all our questions throughout our stay. We arrived on Thanksgiving night and Nancy invited us to her place (upstairs) for a wonderful traditional turkey dinner. Rent the boat (17ft. Boston Whaler) for the week, it was well worth it. The water is a magnificent aqua blue and so clear you can see the bottom in most places. We traveled across to Stocking Island daily. Either stopped at Chat'N'Chill where the conch salad was fabulous and the people were very friendly or found our own secluded beaches. When you get over to Stocking Island, be sure to walk to the other side of the island and hang out at the ocean. It is beautiful. We woke up every morning and had coffee on our porch, overlooking the water. We stayed in Suite B, huge bedroom, kitchen and living area. Made it easy to do our own cooking. Nancy also had any kind of gear we needed, such as grills, coolers, snorkel equipment, etc. We rented a car and went to Sandal's to play golf on the Greg Norman designed course. It was a great course with 5 or 6 holes right on the ocean. Only bad thing at the course was that because we weren't staying there we couldn't buy any food or drink (at $150 greens fee). People from Exuma were all very friendly. The walk to Fish Fry was well worth it and if you are down near Sandal's stop in at Big D's Conch Shack. Chat N'Chill (mentioned above) was one of the highlights. We met a lot of people vacationing and the staff, all very laid back and having a good time. All in all, this was one of the most memorable trips of our life. It was so relaxing, beautiful and out of the ordinary. Regatta Point was definitely NOT a glamorous, all inclusive sort of place that you see advertised in most Carribean vacation advertisements, which made it the most fabulous place to stay.
Only disapointments of the trip were that some of the restaurants we read about in George Town were closed either because of a difficult economy or not yet open for the season (Sam's, Hamburger Beach, Peace and Plenty, Two Turtles). Also, we got a lot of bug bites (mosquitos and tiny, no-see-ums) during the trip. They were everywhere.
