“Sky Beach Club is fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2011

My wife and I spent 11 days at Sky Beach Club last month (October) to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Although the weather was not great (I recommend going to Eleuthera in summer as long as you don't mind the heat), we had a super time, in large part due to the employees and the villas of SBC. We stayed in a 4/4 villa with spectacular views of the Atlantic ocean. The photos on the SBC website are exactly what you'll experience when you get there. I can't say enough good things about the staff. Windsor, the gentleman responsible for maintenance, goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure your villa is in tip top shape. Eugene is very focused on customer service, regardless of how ridiculous the request. Paulette is a fantastic cook who prepared the lobster tails that I bought at the boat ramp in Governor's Harbour - she did an outstanding job! Matt, who organized our reservations is a wealth of knowledge about the island and incredibly responsive.

Again, I can't say enough good things about Sky Beach Club. This was our third trip to Eleuthera (but our first stay at Sky Beach Club) and we loved every minute of it!

Room Tip: Make sure you get one of the three villas that directly face the ocean, not the road.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Sky Beach Club and enjoyed every moment! The resort is awesome, very nice use of space in the bungalows (there are currently 3 of them). The furniture is contemporary and modern. Loved the shower, it's a huge corner walk in with two shower heads! The pool was amazing (it is not heated, but there is a hot tub close by), the beach was even more wonderful, sandy, and secluded!!! We ate at the Bistro for breakfast and some meals EVERYTHING we ate was so delicious and fresh and well prepared. All the staff was very nice (the manager wasn't there but there was a lady who was filling in ... she seemed to depend on the staff to know what was going on.. so we just interateced with them directly). House keeping was stealthy! We never knew when they came or went but we never waited on anything, and they did a great job of keeping the room clean! They do provide beach towels but didn't provide any complimentary toiletries so be sure to take your own! The bungalows have a fridge but no real cooking location, and there is not access to laundry if you are staying in the bungalow, unless you go into town to a laundry mat.

The location is a few minutes from Gov Harbour Airport and it is in the center of the island which made for awesome exploring day trips for us! A car rental is a must on the island!

The only thing that prevents me from giving it a full 5 star rating was some minor upkeep type of things, our tub wasn't working the first night we got there, it was fixed when we brought it to someone's attention, but I didn't feel like it should be something we should have to bring up. The room it self was very nice, but there is some upkeep items which should be addressed.. like the curtains for the bungalow windows are not all on their hooks and they leave gaps where whoever stayed before us had used office binder clips to hold it together... it worked but it was tacky, similarly in the bathroom looks like pain could be refreshed as it is yelloweing a little and there are knicks in the wood. I would love to see Sky Beach go the extra mile on small items to ensure the resort stays in great shape for years. It is a wonderful place and I don't regret for a minute anything about our stay.

In all our exlporation of the island we didn't find any other place quite as unique and contemporary as this one.

We recently got married on the stunning beach on the very doorstep of Sky Beach Club and it was just perfect. No doubt you will have the most amazing wedding photos if you marry here!

Everything was organised with ease and Curtis the manager is so friendly, helpful and accommodating. We were 9 in total and we all loved the spacious and modern design of the house we shared. The food is of a very high standard too. The view from the house is mesmerising, I felt so lucky being able to look out at such a gorgeous view every day.

The location is also really handy if you rent a car and drive around the island into Governor's Harbour where the shops and restaurants are.

Thank you so much to everyone who made our wedding and holiday so special.

We just got back from our stay at Sky Beach. It was our first trip to Eleuthera and definitely won't be our last. It was exactly what we were looking for.
The way Sky Beach is set up is a bit different. It's not a resort, or even a hotel - more like a rental complex. There isn't a lobby, or office. Curtis- the manager- seems to come and go. In the 5 days we were there we saw him once. That being said we were out and about quite a bit. So if you have a question, or need direction, or help you speak to the wait staff. They are all fantastic - Selena, Oteesh, Theo ( a few others who's names escape me). They are very warm, welcoming and always greeted us by our first names. Very personal. The other thing is that the units are all for sale, which also gives it more of a rental/condo corp feeling.
Sky Beach is a beautiful spot. It is set on beautiful beach that you can walk for hours along in either direction. My hubby and I walked along the beach to the South to Club Med beach and then continued along walking to Tippy's. It was a good walk, but beautiful beach after beautiful beach.
The bungalows are nice, bright, and very clean. Very modern for such a small, remote island. One complaint was that the bed faces the glass sliding doors so there's not much privacy unless you have the curtains drawn. Otherwise great shower with rainfall shower head, beautiful huge tub, and seperate room for the toilet. The other complaint I had was the beds. My hubby and I both found the beds very uncomfortable. Very firm platform beds. We were both waking in the night with sore ribs and backs, then tossing and turning for hours. Neither of us had a great sleep while we were there.
The food is really good. A bit pricey, especially breakfast, but all really good. Huge chicken wings, awesome greek salad and hummus, great conch fritters. It was all delicious.
Sky Beach felt empty while we were there. There were a few meals that we ate in the restaurant just by ourselves, nobody else around. We were the only ones at the bar most nights. It was definitely much busier on Saturday. A lot of people came to use the pool, eat, and use the free wifi. Yes they do have wifi at The Bistro!
The other huge bonus is the Direct TV satellite. My hubby was in heaven, sitting at the bar in Eleuthera and watching the Leaf game. They got more channels than we do at home.
We were sad to leave. our 5 day stay was way too short. We'll be back soon!!!

Sky Beach Club is an upscale resort location with some of the most beautiful views you will find anywhere. The facility was spotless and meticulously maintained in every respect. The Bistro offers some great menu items and of course, the bar has a great selection of exotic Island drinks that are served with a smile from their fabulous staff.

This is not a resort with a million things to do and gobs of entertainment for your pleasure. It is truly a spot to relax and let go of life's irritations. My wife and I were thrilled with this aspect, as well as the sheer beauty of the island. If you're looking for a spot to pamper yourself, put your feet up and unwind, Sky Beach Club is paradise.
My only regret is that there isn't a golf course on the island.

We have stayed in many different spots in the Bahamas and the experience we had at Sky Beach was beyond expectations at every level. From the ease of making a reservation (great guy!) to the friendliness of the staff, to the immaculate rooms and grounds there simply is not a nicer spot to get away. I am coy to write this to not give up this private spot but it was such a great experience that we cant wait to get back there for R and R.

Room Tip: They are ALL nice

We spent the long holiday weekend at Sky and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. We stayed in one of the houses and the view from the house is a view you never get tired of looking at.
We had lunch everyday at the Bistro. The lamb chops melt in your mouth!! We had dinner sent up to us as the mosquitoes were out. I cannot say enough about our bartender, Eugene and the other staff members, along with the Manager, Curtis. This is our 3rd time and they have always gone out of their way to please us. We will be back as soon as we can!!!
