My husband and I just returned from Eleuthera where we stayed at the Laughing Bird Apartments for ten days. The apartment was perfect and had everything we needed for our stay. Cooking was easy in the kitchen as it contained an assortment of utensils, dishes, and pots and pans. Our hosts, Dan and Jean, were so kind and helpful. The grounds are beautiful, and I especially enjoyed Jean telling me about the various plants. We will soon be building a home in Rainbow Bay and look forward to staying at the Laughing Bird Apartments on our future trips to Eleuthera to oversee the building process.

Just stayed at the Laughing Bird. Accomodations were excellent, as were hosts Dan and Jean. Were there with two teenagers, and adjoining bedroom was great. If you want to see Eleuthera, this location is excellent as a central point of departure; short trip to either north or south parts of island. Would definitely return to the Laughing Bird.

We have been to several islands and are always looking for "the unknowns" and places of natural beauty. This is one of them! The cottages are very clean and within a 100 ft of the beach where crystal clear water glistens like diamonds and the shells gently roll and chime on the shore.
The owners are Very sweet and both are extremely pleasant. Since most food comes from Miami and can be expensive(about 2x cost of Miami)be sure to bring your own frozen meats and some spices/foil/butter etc., but no fresh veggies or fruits. The rooms have kitchenetts to allow you to cook at your liesure. Fruits & veggies are available locally. There is a Great little restrant & bar (Sunset) to walk to, but be sure to bring some bug spray for the night time. You MUST rent a jeep at the airport in Govenors Harbor to go to the beaches "off the beaten paths". There are several caves along the coast, near the Glass Bridge and very secluded beachs everywhere. The people are very friendly and kind. Take time to breathe in the relaxing atmosphere, make a drink and Enjoy!

Living in central Florida, I had no idea of the paradise that is a short 2 hours away until I flew to Eleuthera, Bahamas this spring. It was just like a trip to Gilligan's Island, palm trees, miles of unoccupied beaches and even some native beauties, along with resident Americans. I stayed at Laughing Bird Apts, where I got a real deal, beachside for only $85/nite with A/C & cable. The managers were very friendly and helpful with maps and lots of info. Laughing Bird's rooms were extremely clean and newly painted with fresh flowers on our arrival. Diving was incredible, along the ocean wall, and in the inner reefs, with visibility sometimes almost 500feet underwater!! You haven't seen crystal clear water till you've seen this. The pink sand beaches were unique also. If you like diving, and getting back to nature, be sure to give this one a try.
