Finally a reasonably priced Oceanside restaurant on Eleuthera! They are very accommodating for special requests and service was great.

“Wonderful food and view of Governor's Harbour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2012

Get here early to snag a prime spot on the deck and watch the sun set over Governor's Harbour. The conch fritters are the best on the island and I think their view is also the best. Be sure to wear bug spray in the summer because otherwise the mosquitos will be an obstacle to enjoying a wonderful dinner. It may not look like much from the outside but Sunset Inn's food and view from the deck will not disappoint. It is much less crowded than Tippy's but just as good.

“Simple Fare”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2012

If this restaurant was Toronto, Chicago, London, I would probably give it one star but, given that it is on an out-island of the Bahamas, it has to be rated in relation to other restaurants on Eleuthera. Sunset Inn offers simple fare at reasonable prices, mostly in the company of non-touristy visitors and local people. Its charm is in its lack of perfection, and also in the frequent presence of its husband and wife owners who provide true home cooking results.

My personal recommendation is the chicken, but others also enjoy the conch and grouper.

And the ocean view is spectacular.

“Excellent food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

We visited New Sunset on recommendation by a Govenors Harbour resident and I wish to thank her! New Sunset is a good honest restaurant, which does not cater solely for ex-pats and tourists (unlike some other restaurants in the town such as the famous Tippy's)! The food is excellent and well priced. Honest Bahamian food such as fish fingers (grouper) and conch fritters. You are treated like one of the family. Staff are typical Eleutheran freindly...lovely people! When you have you foor (and Kalik) you are left by yourself and not pestered. There is a little notice on the kitchen door to knock if you need anything. Food in freshly prepares (you can hear the demise of the conch from the kitchen) and very tasty!

The Inn is nothing to look at from the road. There is a large room inside and a at the back a terrace with wonderful Carribean views. The terrace has been extended this season due to recent hurricane damage...and they have done a wonderful job.

We will be back!
