We spent the most amazing week at the Bahama Beach Club in Treasue Cay, Abaco. I had been searching the internet for months looking for the perfect place to have our beach wedding, and Treasure Cay was it!
Bahama Beach club is by far the nicest resort in Treasue Cay. The resort is set up like a small apartment complex with lots of large spacious condos wich each face the ocean. The condos have amazingly high ceilings and top of the line ammenities. Every room had great little technology updates that really made a nice difference too. We loved relaxing to the sound of our own iPods playing through the surround sound speakers each night!

The newness of the appliances and well everythign was very nice as well. We loved having the ability to walk to the little grocery store and cook our own meals in a fully stocked kitchen, rather than pay the pricey cost of eating out at the only restraunt in the area.

Outside, the resort has a beautiful pool, with convienient clean, and new showers, pool chairs, and pravilion. As for my wedding, the resort has a perfect 'isle' to walk to the beach.

The beach was the softest white sand I had ever seen; and the water gently laps on the beach for an incredibly calming experience. We went durring the first week of hurrican season and got a great price...but it rained off and on 2 of the days we were there.

Even with the rain, the thing that made the trip even better was my wedding planner Vandea. She works for the resort and was able to contact all of the people involved in my wedding so they could be flexible about the time so we didn't get rained on! She was absolutly amazing and everything turned out beautiful, stress free, and perfect.

This is THE resort to stay at in the Bahamas. My husband and I stayed at the Treasure Cay resort and hotel for our wedding night (we didn't want to be next door to my parents for that occasion!) and we were definately very very dissapointed. The room had ants, was tiny and old. More like a motel 6. If we had to do anything differently, it would have been to shell out enough for us to have our own condo that night with the Bahama Beach Club so we could have contined to relax in ultimate luxury and comfort!

OVERALL:
Bahama Beach Club is a paradise within a paradise. The Island of Abaco is beautiful and thankfully mostly untouched by developers. Unfortunately that will probably change with time. The beach that the resort sits on was ranked as one of the top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world by National Geographic. I see no reason to disagree. We went toward the beggining of their slow season and were literally the only guests on the beach 99% of the time. There were other guests there but most of the time you felt like you were the only one there. The grounds and landscaping are perfect and extremely clean. Our 3 Br. 3 Bth. condo (2048) was beautifully furnished and we couldnt have asked for a better location. (About 10 steps to the beach.) The housekeeping was very nice, even had my clothes that were laying on the bed folded. Vandea in the office was charming as could be and saw that every detail of our stay was perfect. Rented a golf cart to get around the Treasure Cay area from Cash's Carts. The Cart was arranged by Vandea in the front office and was dropped off to us about 20 minutes later. Taxi fares from airport (less than 15 min from BBC) were a bit steep at $25.

DINING:
We always did lunch at the pool bar. Best Pina Coladas and the grouper burger was awesome. Was disappointed that there was never any lobster burgers or conch available the whole time we were there. Food otherwise was very good. Conch fritters were very good. Deborah and Rudy were a good pool bar team. We went to the marina two nights of the stay to eat at Spinnakers. Very nice atmosphere and the food was very good. The lobster and shrimp pasta was one of the best dishes I have ever had anywhere. The is also an outdoor bar behind the dining doom but we really did not utilize it. Location on canal is picture perfect. Drove 30 miles down the road one day to Marsh Harbor one day. Ate at Curly tails. food was excellent and the view of the harbor and boats was nice. Marsh harbor is a pretty place but when I started seeing stores carrying Tiffany, Marc Jacobs and other designers, a little bit of the caribbean flavor is lost for me. Treasure cay has none of that stuff and all goods sold are for the most part made by the locals. Cafe la Florence near the marina has great cookies and coconut cake.
ACTIVITIES:
Besides lounging by the pool or beach or taking a golf cart ride around the area, there is not a ton to do and thats what is great abut this place. It forces you to relax. No rush, no schedule. Did do a half day sorkeling trip thru Treasure Divers in the marina. It was a great day trip. Scooters are avail. for rent as are bikes and boats.
VERDICT:
Go! It is a slice of heaven.

When my husband and I decided to do a destination wedding, I started to search all over the internet for the most beautiful and best location. Luckily we found it at the Bahama Beach Club. After seeing the website I contacted Lori who is incharge of planning the weddings at the BBC. She was a HUGE help and along with Vandea who is amazing, they were able to answer all of our questions and basically be our personal wedding planners since neither of us had ever been to the island or knew much anything about it. They both made the experience very easy and less stressful.
They also recommended some of the nicest people who made our wedding incredible. To start - we got in touch Patrice for decorations and rentals and she did a fabulous job and took care of everthing. The decorations were beautiful and far passed my expectations for what they could do on a such a small island. We also used Bahama Blooms and the bouquets and boutinneres were gorgeous. If you are looking for the best band and entertainment you have to get in touch with Anderson from the New Entry Band. They were incredible and had my group of 65 dancing for 3 hours straight! They play all types of music and this was definately the best part of reception. We also used Randy from Uneek Photo who did an amazing job and was able to capture some of the best moments and all of the gorgeous scenery- he was great.
The food was catered by BBC for both the rehearsal and reception and all of it was awesome. Infact the grill at BBC has the best food on the island so even if you dont stay there you should definately go by the grill which is open for lunch and closes by 7 or so. They had a large selection to choose from for food options and we were able to request some other appetizers that we had in mind. All of it was great and my guests were very pleased. And the cake made by Elliot (who is a local baker on the island) was delicous and beautiful. I gave him a picture of a cake I wanted and he was able to duplicate it. You definately want to use him for the cake! The staff at BBC are incredibly friendly and helped to make the whole experience relaxing. Request Rudy for a bartender- he is the best!!!
The Resort.... The BBC is gorgeous- the pictures on the website are accurate and all of the condos we stayed in were beautifully furnished and up to date. The grounds are very well kept and the beach is the best part- it looks completely untouched and luckily since we were there in off season we basically had the entire resort to ourselves. It is quiet and perfect if you have a group of 60-70 like we did.
Prices over there are what you would typically pay at any resort or destination island. Its not cheap for groceries but restuarants there are very few and this is something to keep in mind. We mostly ate at the resort and took a snorkel trip with Ossie and Treasure Divers to Nippers which was a blast. Nippers is definately a place to visit while you are there.

Basically our wedding was amazing and our guests had a great time. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking to have a tropical wedding with all of the works and an awesome vacation at the same time. Feel free to contact me with any questions or if you want to see some pictures from the wedding.

As for the resort we really loved the place and the pictures were just as it was. I would have to say that the newer side was a lot better. I moved every reservation to the new side after we arrived but ours. The newer units were decorated better and they were turned so every building had a great view. I recommend unit 2047 for any body that you send to the resort. (Honeymoon Suite)

The wedding staff was great. It all started with Lori who was our primary planner. Vandea is the other wedding planner on the island. Vandea was very helpful and picked our flowers up from Marsh Harbor for us since she lives there. Patrice was the life of the party and very helpful. She picked us up and took us to Cooper’s Town on Thursday morning. Her and her husband did a great job setting up the tables and center pieces even with the winds. (She has all the party rentals you will need)

Thank You to everyone at BBC for planning such a great wedding and making everyone feel comfortable.

If you need a great photographer I would recommend Randy Curry. It would not have been the same without his great photos keeping the memory alive!!!

We stayed two nights there prior to picking up our sailboat. We loved the accomodations after a long day of travel, just wish the weather had been more accomodating. Beaches were beautiful and staff very friendly. Food choices limited though!
