Back in the mid-1950s I was captain on the fishing boat Clint Murchison et al kept at Spanish Cay. It was a wonderful place to "work" with incredible fishing and snorkeling from right off the docks and beaches to all around the Cay and near by reefs to the barrier reefs and on out into the ocean. One of the guests caught a 490 pound Blue Marlin one day. It also seemed as if the favorite fishing was for Mutton Snapper around any of the nearby reefs--with the occasional Barracuda thrown in for good measure. We always released the 'Cudas because they gave us such good action and wanted to keep it up. (A couple were almost like pets.) There is also really great Bonefishing just about everywhere, with my favorite being the cut around the northern tip of Abaco. You can fish bonefish there in practically any weather. A very beautiful and unspoiled Island in the Abaco, Bahamas. Our children enjoyed the beaches, shelling and building sand castles. We waatched our children swim in the pool and jacuzzi while we looked on from the Tiki bar. The staff was very friendly and helpful and always went out of their way to accomodate us. They were always kind to the children and patient when answering their questions. We truely enjoyed our time on the Island and have already booked a trip there this summer. Hope you enjoy it also.
