“They charge $10.00 a head to step off your boat as a "landing fee"...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

While motor cruising in the Exuma's you tend to check out the marina's in the area. We stopped here and there was a sign posted "$8.00 landing fee." It turns out it was really ten dollars per person but they hadn't gotten around to changing the sign. Very small marina with huge megayachts with "dinghy's" 40' and up. Had 2 $12.00 cheeseburgers and a beer and quickly got out of there. Lots of families on megayacht charters squeezed into a very small marina. Not the reason we motor cruised from the Florida coast out to the Exuma's. Conspicuous consumption at its worst.

They are apparently famous for a huge group of nurse sharks that hang out at the marina for daily feedings. Parents were allowing their children to go in the water and feed them and some very small children were climbing on the backs of the sharks... very weird and unnatural and potentially dangerous. So many other beautiful pristine places to go - miss this one!

“One of the Best Stops in the Bahamas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012 via mobile

If you have a chance to go to the Exumas, Compass Cay is a must stop. To have an opportunity to pet the nurse sharks and swim with them is a great experience.

“not to be missed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

Love love love ! We stop here yearly on our boat but make sure you call month in advance to make reservations if you are traveling by boat or even flying in. Very limited space but some of the most amazing water in the Bahamas. While docked here you can swim with the many many nurse sharks that just circle the marina plus the hundreds of bone fish that are below them. There is alos a gret cresent beach that you can h ike to from the marina that is only a 10 min hike and well worth it, but if you feel more adventurous you can hike to Rachels bubble bath that takes approx 1 to 1 1/2 hrs depending on how fast you walk, once you get there you will be treated to an amazing view and wonderful seadip in a natureal made bubble bath!! If you are not staying on the property there is a minimal charge to come on to the island.

“the best marina at the bahams”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012

If you want to have an outstanding experience at the Bahamas, do not hesitate and sail to the Bahamas, and to stay. It is the second time I have been there, nice island, gorgeous beaches, for swimming and snorkling. Walk around the island, take your time and enjoy it during the whole day.

The owner Mr Tucker Rolle is an example how to manage a marina, Jamal can provide daily catched fishes at an affordable price.

The ambiance is great for all ages, my kids love it when we came for the first time, some years ago, and now they are grown up and told me it was the best holidays they had.

There are beautifull lodges to rent, and I believe that it the closest you can be to Paradise on earth.

We travelled with our own boat and for sure will be back next year.
