This was a very interesting and fun way to spend some time with fellow travellers. Ash made the tour very fun and exciting. Definitely worth seeing for beer lovers out there!

“Brewery, City and Downtown Shore Excursion with Carnival”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014

What a way to start out your first day in port on the 4 night Bahama Cruise from Carnival. Fans's Travel, Tours, Taxi and Limo Service was contracted to pick us up pier side for our 3 hour tour in Freeport Bahamas - our tour guide the fabulous Aisha and our driver Norman - what a great experience Thank You. Our first stop the Perfume factory, but allot of good information along the way a little of the history, industry and people of Freeport. A quick tour of the handmade perfume factory - a couple of samples (smells great in that place) and then back on the road again to Port Lucaya again allot of information regarding the island and a quick 40 minutes to do some shopping. Did get some jewelry for my wife and yes it was not as expensive as if we had bought it in the states. Back on the bus again and headed back towards the port of the highlight of the tour - the Bahamian Brewery - a small operation yes, but usually they are the best to produce a craft beer. Ash was our tour guide and he was fantastic (I would like that Job). Just about 15 minutes all total - then you get to start tasting the brews - we tasted 5 in all. After the tasting it was then one after the other - kept on tasting and trying each beer just to see if it was really as good as the first. There was even a competition between Ash and two of our fellow travelers - needless to say Ash won. Bottom line, if you like craft beers and want to get off the ship to experience Freeport - this is one of the best.

“Best excursion EVER!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

We were in Freeport as a part of a cruise with Carnival. We always do research on the various ports before we go because we prefer exploring an area on our own, rather than purchasing an excursion. However, Freeport did not seem to have much to do and we felt our best option would be to either stay on the ship or to purchase an excursion. We settled on the downtown Freeport and brewery tour, both because of the affordable price and the included beer tasting. Who doesn't love a nice beer tasting?

First of all, our tour guide Brice was a delight. Possibly the best tour guide I've ever had - VERY funny and informative. The downtown tour was interesting and we enjoyed the Perfume Factory as well. We didn't experience a hard sell at the Perfume Factory (a little surprising), which we appreciated. The Port Lucaya Marketplace was another story though - just your typical jewelry and cheap souvenir stores. The Count Basie Square was interesting, although there was no music while we were there. The public restrooms there were a mess - a toilet had overflowed and both the men's room and the women's room had at least an inch or two of dirty toilet water all over the floors. We held off on using them, as we could smell them yards away.

The brewery was truly the best part of the tour. The tour was interesting, although it was a Sunday and no one was there. But of course, everyone was just waiting to get to the tasting and the promised as-much-as-you-can-drink extravaganza afterwards. We enjoyed each of the beers (although High Rock was our favorite), and definitely took them up on their offer of additional servings. We were all pretty well gone by the time we got back on the bus, and Brice led us in a sing-a-long back to the ship.

They also have two of the sweetest dogs at the brewery - Nassau was especially friendly and greeted everyone as they got back on the bus. I practically had to drag my husband back on the bus - he didn't want to leave the sweet pup!

“Wonderful local experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014

Be sure and stop in for the tour of the Bahamian Brewery. The tour lasts about 15min depending on your questions then the tasting begins. There is a local legend that hangs out and tells you jokes. It is locally owned and employs all people of the island. Well worth the stop. The beer taste great and the people are fantastic and warm! Also grab your treasures from the gift shop.

“Highlight of Freeport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

Not a lot to see or due in Freeport. As a huge fan of craft beer in the states my husband and I decided to come to Bahamian Brewery as part of a Carnival Cruise day trip. This place is a fresh of fresh air compared to Freeport and it's lack of luster. Negative was that it was a Sunday and the gift shop was closed. Ash was our tour guide/bartender. He had a upbeat personality but was a little rude. We tried all the beers including the ones that he served at room temperature. DISCUSTING! I enjoyed a couple of the Sands when typically I am a dark beer lover. But trying to drink warm beer is hard to gag down. Which was a shame because we really wanted a ice cold Strongback.
