This was our second time staying at this facility, we actually purchased time share this time, so we will definitely be spening more time there. I want to thank oveta(speedy) for all her hard work she is all over the place making sure everything is done and looks nice, you can tell she takes pride in her job,its more than i can say for some of the other employees, they need to take lessons from "speedy". I was a little disappointed with the slow service, while sitting having lunch at coconuts there would be empty cups and plates sitting around, tables and chairs in disarray and the employees just sitting talking to each other, they need to take lessons from "speedy" she is an asset to this resort.

The condos on the marina side are very outdated, basic, and not stocked very well. Coffee machine didn't work, no blow dryer, and living room air conditioner very noisy which made it very difficult to sleep on the hide a bed couch that was right next to it. Some of the staff was friendly, some not so friendly. The resort itself had an outdoor covered bar/eating area which was nice. There was an enclosed restaurant that was pretty nice. The pool and hot tub was nice. Not enough hot tub space, was always full. Had to use the one on the marina side, but only one jet worked. The beach area was very nice, but space was limited and not enough tiki huts for shade, but again, space was limited. The ocean front rooms are reserved for timeshare renters. Everything was pretty expensive and everything cost something. Even had to pay to use a snorkeling mask, but the marine life was amazing even though the coral reefs were very dilapidated and non colorful. The ocean water was absolutely amazing, but I don't think I would waste my time returning to Freeport. We took the Balarian Express Jet Boat and by the time you waited to get on the boat and off the boat plus the ride over took 8 hrs. and $200/person. Even more expensive to fly over. Not as expensive to take the overnight cruise ship.

Room Tip: Pool/courtyard front/ocean view are not bad rooms as far as view Not sure how updated the rooms are...

This review will be for non-owners that stay at the "hotel side" of the resort. The timeshare rooms appeared nicer than what we got. The staff was very friendly. The amenities were good. The beach access and quality of the beach access was excellent. The restaurant was ok...service quality varied by server. The hotel rooms (not timeshare) were not so great. Old TVs, ripped cushions on the couch, cold/lukewarm shower water, hard mattress.

This is isolated from Lacaya, and was nice and quiet. The hotel offered hourly shuttles until 6:30 to the market which was nice. Spotty Internet.

Room Tip: Exchanging as a time share may give you a better room than what we had. If you don't own there t...

We found Island Seas through a timeshare exchange. After booking, we became a bit concerned after reading some negative reviews about the accommodation and staff. We need not have worried. The staff proved to be friendly and helpful. Although the kitchen did lack some glassware and cutlery, the room was spotless and adequate and we had a view of the sea just beyond the pool. The best surprise of all was a little mobile restaurant on the sea just a block from the resort called Michele's. She cooks UNIMAGINABLE sea food caught that day. See photos. Our only complaint was the convenience store on site which was unreasonably costly.

My husband and I own at Island Seas Resort, and it's the only place we vacation annually. We absolutely love the resort and the Bahamas!! Each year when we arrive, we are greeted by the staff with a warm, friendly "Welcome Home", and that's exactly how we feel.

The resort is always upgrading, and we're looking forward to the extra amenities which are being constructed and planned now. We never have to wait long for any requests for service or items we may need in our condo, and staff is always friendly and accomodating.

We always enjoy Bingo on the Beach every noon, and Jackee and Tony make it extra special and fun! The beach is gorgeous, white sand and it's so relaxing. Housekeeping does a very good job; thank you, Angela. Member Services is great and fun to chat with throughout the week. Betty and Shirley do a very good job keeping up with all the guests' requests.

We have made wonderful friends at Island Seas, and we look forward to going back each year to see and connect with our friends! We always enjoy our visits with Tawari and Cheryl; it's fun to catch up with them while we're visiting Island Seas.

Room Tip: While the Courtyard is beautiful to look at, the Ocean Views are absolutely wonderful, and the sound...

the rooms are simple but large and clean and are equipped with everything you need including a real oven! The bed is super comfy with plentiful pillows and blankets. Pool is nice with plenty of chairs. Beach is absolutely gorgeous. I'd stay here again just for the beach access. The resort should add additional tiki huts in the grass areas for more shady spots. The sun is hot hot hot! Great water and plenty of fish to see. Staff is five stars! We ate at both restaurants. After a week on island it was so nice to find a great salad with normal lettuce and French dressing. And it was huge! We did Italian night at the grill and the food was our favorite of the entire trip. I'd recommend it hands down. Even if you're staying elsewhere I'd recommend coming over for lunch or dinner! Thanks for making our stay fantastic!!!

The PEOPLE who work at Island Seas are 5 star and more and made our 2 weeks so enjoyable. Their motto is "faith, family and friends" and they are not kidding. AND sometimes friends become like family! Where else can you go on vacation and get hugs from the staff? Sonya and "Speedy" will do whatever it takes to make your days pleasant and are always ready with those hugs.Tony and Jackee keep up the enthusiasm on the beach and can they sing and DANCE!
The accommodations are in process as Island Seas renovates each apartment to bring it up to industry standards. In the meantime the condos are pleasant and have everything we needed plus one SPECTACULAR beach. Just walking the beach every morning and snorkeling at least once a day made this a relaxing and revitalizing vacation. The free shuttle into Port Lucaya gives visitors access to restaurants, shopping and other beaches but allows Island Seas to stay the quieter more laid back space we crave. We love it!

Room Tip: The canal side seems quieter but views are better courtside.
