Our family stayed here for 2 weeks - we were able to exchange our 1 week in Virginia Beach (1-bedroom unit) for 2 weeks here (2-bedroom unit).
Location - right on the beach (resort had a private beach) and very nice free-form pool; only about 15 minutes from the airport
Staff - very friendly and helpful
Restaurants - Coconuts and Seagrape Grille had good food for reasonable prices (as guests we got a 10% discount), though the service was rather slow; Happy Hour at Coconuts had a select list of 2-for-1 drinks; Seagrape Grille had Italian buffets on Friday evenings and breakfast buffets on Saturday/Sunday mornings; easy to charge meals/drinks to the room and pay when you eave
Shuttles - resort ran a free hourly shuttle to the main nearby shopping area (Port Lucaya) as well as a free shuttle to a grocery store on Monday afternoon
Room layout - 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed, flat-screen TV and a full bathroom; full kitchen with range, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher; dining room; living room with a flat-screen TV; balcony
Activities - on-site activities group able to arrange a number of activities such as fishing trips, snorkeling trips, jetski rentals, glass-bottom boat tours, dolphin experiences and car rental
Amenities - many of the standard resort amenities were lacking: tennis court closed; substandard spa (though a new spa/fitness center is supposedly under construction) and my wife and daughter did not enjoy the pedicures they got at the spa; expensive WiFi ($12.95/day or $69.95/week per device)
Exaggerated advertising - the resort website and the people who we spoke to for resort information before departing mad a point of emphasizing a couple of features that were exaggerations: the swim-up bar (it's there but it's not staffed - you have to order drinks from the regular poolside bar and bring them into the water yourself) and the "waterpark" next door (a few large inflatable waterslides as well as a set of inflatable platforms out in the ocean - anyone used to an American waterpark would be bored in about 10 minutes)
Sales pitch - we were subjected to the typical timeshare sales pitch - 3 hours of our lives that we'll never get back
Room inventory - we had a few issues with items in the room: we did not have a frying pan in our kitchen and after asking several times, we finally got one for the second week; our bed was made with a flat sheet on the bottom when we arrived so we were sliding around for a couple of days until they remade the bed with a fitted sheet; and we didn't find out until 2 days before we left that we were supposed to have a laundry basket in the room
All in all, it was a good vacation. We would be OK with returning but we probably will not be back because there are other places that we would like to travel to first.
