I approached this trip with trepidation based on the reviews. I found the price ($140 per night for 2 people, all-inclusive) irresistable. Next time, I will resist. The idea of having the reef and food both easily accessible sounded like a good idea. Not. We arrived on Thanksgiving Day to a most unusual display of food. I have had better hospital cafeteria food. I meant to take a picture of the mangled, dried out pizza that was obviously left out for hours. The diet coke was by far the best part of any meal, and even that ran out. The food was cold even when we were first to arrive and saw it being brought from the kitchen. Then empty platters were left with just a few morsels on them, never to be replaced. Many of us were wandering around, looking at empty platters and other gross remnants trying to formulate a plan. We tried the "specialty" restaurant and found it even worse! My pasta was cold goo. The pizza arrived cold, with the cheese congealed. They were so understaffed, we waited for 30 minutes between "courses" of goo. We amused ourselves by watching other people get irate as they sat without a morsel. We decided it was better to eat the food at the buffet in a reasonable amount of time. We also decided it was a good idea to fill up on hot dogs and hamburgers at the Pool Shack. Not. It took literally 45 minutes to get a hot dog. The next, and ultimately best idea was to walk away from breakfast with cereal, milk, and yogurt, and eat that throughout the day. Given more time, we would have taken cabs elsewhere.

I feel fortunate we had a room overlooking a dumpster (along with sundry bathtubs, television set boxes, junk). It was fortunate because it was quiet and peaceful. I could actually hear the ocean waves in the morning.

The dolphin dive with UNEXSCO (not booked through the hotel) was amazing. Be aware that the bikes are broken down as well. Mine only had a left pedal; the right pedal was more of a stump. Expect extra exercise in actually moving it forward. Still, we enjoyed a nice ride to a nearby beach. The snorkeling and trapeze lessons were great fun. It was fun and convenient to take off in a kayak on a whim. It looked like people enjoyed the dance lessons and water aerobics as well.

Don't expect a 5 star resort and you wont be disappointed, I would say a 3 star plus. Meals were good buffet/cafeteria style plenty of fruits and veggies. My oceanfront room was clean with no smells or bugs. Some of the "local" staff were impersonable and not caring. The Anglo/European staff probably there on work visas were all very personable and friendly. The Dive shop people were the best. If you like diving/snorkeling, I think you'll like this resort. Beach was nice, pool was nice. If you're going there to relax, enjoy the beach and sun, do some swimming and diving. This is a nice place. If you want to be pampered with 5 star meals and waited on hand and foot like royalty you should upgrade to a 5 star resort with the 5 star price tag. I'm going back next week. I can't stay at an oceanfront motel here in Ocean City, Maryland USA (with its nasty polluted water and dirty beach) for the price of Wyndham Fortuna (including airfare)

this hotel is a dump. I expected something else. for a resort that had a wyndham name on it, I just expected it at least to be clean. it was nasty bugs and mildew in bathroom tub and walls. crusty mold on a/c. If I was given a free vacation here I wouldnt even give it away let alone come back to this dump. Im not picky but I do expect cleanliness. Crap on the toilet bowl that was never scrubbed off. Just Gross!
The staff was miserable. The front desk simply said she is tired of dealing with Americans and there rudeness. If someone just gave a damn then this probably would be taken out on the staff. Management needs to be fired. poor, poor standards. This hotel will never see me again. I should of listened to the reviews I read before I purchased it. I will from now on. Trip advisor is a great tool to use if you've never been to a hotel or destination.
My advise to you if your thinking about going to this resort, DONT GO!
stay at the radisson or ritz that this. the all inclusive was awful. food cold , staff unfriendly and just rude. go somewhere else like punta cana DO

The food was awful -- we joked about getting tired of white tasteless food. Going to the onsite special restaurants was no better. We actually began to dread the tasteless, boring and poorly cooked meals. The hotel service was the worst I have experienced -- no soap (yes soap of any kind) and no beach towels despite several requests over 4-days. I know my sheets were dirty when we arrived -- I could tell by what they should have smelled like when they finally did change them. I guess if endless flowing booze is important to you then enjoy! Dive master team was the worst I have experienced -- they were too busy filming with their own cameras to point out anything to the divers and offered little assistance on the boat. The boat captain Basil however was terrific.

1st thing.
We come in on thanskgiving day, tired from the long ship ride from ft lauderdale.
as soon as we step in, a "vacation sales" person pulls us, and tells us if we are ready
for "promotion:" i said we are not intersted, then she continued with a guilt trip, telling me
how hard life in the bahamas is, how she needs the money, and to help her out, she was begging for a good 20 minutes, and stil we said no.

2nd. we get our room Has no A/c, we called 4 times the front desk to get someone to come fix it, each time they said he is coming right up. Our room was far from the front desk, so we tried calling and leaving the room and nothing was done, i was so upset
i walked to the front, and had her bring the guy with me.

** the food was always COLD, and very bland, so if you are like me that like some flavor on your food, bring your own seasoning to taste something, and use the microwave

*8 since food was horrible in the restaurant, most peoople would go to the outside bar to roder a burger, im not exaggerating when i say i waited 1 hr and half for a burger!
and the lady took so long because of the long line and because she was busy socializing, this was definately GHETTO

**LAST BUT NOT LEAST!!!!!!!!!!! we got a room that had one of those "adjoining" doors, we were promised that the next door person couldnt get in.
On our last night at the hotel at 3am a drunk person from next door walked into our room
we were under our covers sleeping, and he hit everything in our room and started screaming saying we are in his room!!! i hate this place
