“Excellent pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

If you want to go where the locals eat and drink this is a place to be. Really friendly staff who greet you warmly. Food is really great and the local beer is on draught (good value). The flat bread bbq chicken was especially nice. We were tourists staying on the island for 3 weeks and ate and drank there a few times.

“Best Veggie Lasagne Ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

I usually go my first night on the island for veggie lasagne and I have enough left over for two more meals. On my last night go for the best and biggest burger ever and I hardly eat red meat but just can't resist these burgers! The twice baked potato is a good side dish too. VERY good. The owner always comes to the tables and speaks to people. He is very friendly and attentive. They have draft beer (not too common on the island) and very affordable prices. I LOVE Red Beard's! Sitting outside with a big group of people is awesome when it is warm and they now have heaters outside!

“Have no clue why people enjoy this place?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

The food is average at best, the service is HORRIBLE, it is so slow compared to the other 15 restaurants we went to and the food is not that good at all, I think it is good to go watch football and drink then the food doesnt taste so bad but the service is absolutely terrible. It is good if you are a local or a regular then they give you better service but as a tourist dont waste your time here you will be disappointed, I believe the reviews are from locals or expats as the bar was full of them not a good place for tourists.

“Marvelous bar food; marvelous service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

We had a delightful meal -- the agave bread pudding dessert shouldn't be missed. The people make the place: lovely, gracious, attentive. Just plain good bar food but one of the best places we found on the island.

“Where the Locals Go”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012 via mobile

We had a great meal here. Beer and angus burgers in a pirate bar. The portions were large. It had a great atmosphere. The staff were a lot of fun. FYI if you are sensitive to smoke, you'll want to sit outside.
