I love Sandals! This was our first trip to Sandals, and there was a group of eight for my sisters wedding. There is not a single complaint by any in the group.
First, we booked the cheapest room, the Royal Village Deluxe. But, you get complimentary upgrades based off of occupancy and we all got upgraded to the Windsor building. Which we loved. I've read other reviews about bad water pressure and things getting plugged up...no issues here. I have to assume the bad reviews are coming from the Manor building, which is 65 years old...the Windsor is the newest building and is only 7 years old. The rooms were nice, probably not what some would expect from looking at the pictures on the website (keep in mind, Sandals posts the pictures of their largest suites on the site). But, regardless, I didn't come for the room, or the furniture, or the water pressure...I came for the sand and the sun! But the rooms were nice just the same. They were cleaned everyday. And the beds turned down every night.
Second, the food was just unbelievably good. I have gone to many All inclusive resorts, so my expectations of the food were very low. Some of the food at other resorts, honestly, could only be described as edible for survival purposes only. But, there are no complaints...the only place I wasn't really fond of was Baccarrat. Everything else was wonderful! Try the Quesadillas from the Royal Cafe and definently get a Pizza from the Pizzeria!
Next, the staff really was phenomenal! I truly do believe if you smile at someone, they will smile back. These people probably have one of the toughest jobs to deal with daily. Constantly taking care of people that are on vacation is a constant reminder that they are not on vacation...ugh can you imagine! But, regardless, they are wonderful! I saw a few of the staff being treated inappropriately by other guests, and honestly would not have had it in me to be nice back, but they were. Yes, you spent the money to get here, but it does not make you royalty. Do unto others....and you will enjoy your time immensely!
Also, the private island is definently worth going to. I was snorkeling off the beach about 30 feet from the shore and saw a Barracuda! O My! I was Michael Phelps there for a minute! ha ha...It was amazing!
My sister's wedding was perfect from the minister, to the flowers, to the coordinator, the the reception! They made sure everything was exactly how she wanted it. And, it was beautiful!
We all loved it so much that all four couples rebooked at the Come back soon desk before we even left! Next time we're trying Antigua, but we will definently be back to the Royal Bahamian some day. Definently worth every penny!
