“"Overrated"”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

This place is very family oriented so if you are looking to stay in the "Adult section" called the Cove Tower don't be surprised if you see children staying in that area.
Be prepared to pay $1.99 for every call you make to the front desk. They do not tell you upon check in that there is a charge for dialing "0"
The beds are as hard as rocks and I feel like I'm sleeping on the floor
There was a water outage on December 23, 2014. I spoke with the front desk (which was a $1.99 charge) because while I was taking a shower the water completely stopped. I was late for my dinner and was told that someone from their prompt response team would call me so that I can receive a credit but we have not had anyone call us.
I leave tomorrow and after being here for a week I can honestly say that this place is just a 3star playground for kids who like water slides and over priced food.
By the way calls to the u.s are $7.99 per minute plus tax and don't think about using The Viber app because it won't work. They have blocked it and wifi here is a joke. For $21.99 a day you get horrible service that only works sometimes.
I'm truly disappointed and can't wait to leave tomorrow.

Room Tip: Beds are as hard as the Floor, nice view but that's about it.

Had a room on the 20th floor one of the executive levels.
These floors have separate key card access.
But room wise they are similar to rooms on other floors which I have stayed in before.

I have stayed here before and enjoyed it, and also enjoyed this visit too.
It’s certainly a go to place for me.

Pros
=====

lounge
- Room included continental breakfast, afternoon snacks, and evening cocktails

- The executive lounge is on the 22 floor and is nice and very spacious and you can sit inside or outside

- The choice of morning continental or afternoon snacks was good and the afternoon timing was always a nice break in the day

- Staff at the entrance to the lounge was always super helpful and addressed us by name

arrival
- We arranged for Dan Knowles travel through the hotel web site and this went off without a hitch

- Arrival at the hotel was fast and we checked in through the separate crecent lounge

cove itself
- IMHO the rest of Atlantis feels busy as does the main beach in front of it. The cove is a bit of an oasis of quiet sanity with separate restaurants, nicer building, separate pools and beaches. You pay more , but your paying for a bit of quiet.

- You can also easily walk over to the main buildings, or the marina

- There is a lot to do here - walking the beaches, visiting the marina area, the restaurants, day trips

Cons
=====
- The lounge staff that looks after the food/tables seems to hide in the kitchen a little too much. The need to clean up the tables a bit more, and check for anything to refill - in a couple of cases the coffee making machine needed a milk reload or grounds emptied, and some tables had stuff left on them

- Our room faced toward atlantis which was nice. Two nights they decided to leave the pool waterfall going all night. That means you hear essentially what is like a jet or constant sound thereby ruining the amazing sound of the ocean - this really annoyed me.

- A bit overpriced

Cons - Gym
- The extra charge per day for the gym is annoying - and frankly I’ve traveled to many countries and hotels and this was a first

- The gym needs places for people to do their own stretching or yoga for some without having to wait for a yoga class to finish

Tips
====
- If you want a little break in the day sneak over to ben and jerry’s in the marina, grab an ice cream and drool at the super yachts

- If you are in toronto you can be on a beach by early afternoon :) and there are frequent flights

I was lucky enough to be invited along with a girlfriend to The Cove for a long weekend trip. It was beautiful, the people were gracious and helpful, and the rooms were immaculate. We were able to have dinner at Nobu (excellent service and food), Mesa Grill (good...get the corn dish), and Olives (the best!). The drinks were ok, but plentiful. The shopping is terrific! Try the perfume shop!
One of the best things about The Cove though is The Cain, the private pool. Its beautiful and staffed by attentive, gracious people. We were very fortunate to meet a young attendant named Charlten. He was extremely intelligent and very professional. Our spots were perfectly prepared for us every morning along with our favorite drinks. He made sure we had lunch and snacks asap, and personally brought them to us. All of the people here are great though. Atlantis is blessed with a great staff. Charlten was very serious about his job and the Atlantis brand. We kept saying how great he would be in a management position because he had a very elegant way of dealing with the resort's guests. The food at The Cain was delicious and the drinks were well-done.
If I have any criticism, its that the shower temperature would change to scalding without prior notice, and the animals' tanks seemed dirty and unkept.
I will be back! The Cove is worth every penny!

Room Tip: Absolutely! Tip the people you will see daily. They aim to please you!

This place was overrated and overpriced. Housekeeping stole my watch and the hotel refused to take any responsibility. Why pay hundreds of dollars a night to deal with this kind of low rent getto dive. Just don't do it, the place is one big rip off.

The Cover is the kind of place you see in TV shows, movies and advertising. Not "like the kind of place" but the actual place. Its been on so many TV shows and in a handful of films because its that good. It looks great, feels great and is just a wonderful place to visit. They don't spoil you with "lifestyles of the rich and famous" indulgence but rather let you experience the environment of The Cove and its parent resort, The Atlantis. We love the Atlantis, but we now have The Cove as our top destination for the Bahamas.

Room Tip: Any room is great, we prefer sunrise views, so we as for an eastern facing room. The western facing...

It's an experience. And an expensive one. All in all services and staff were wonderful. pools and grounds were unique. Food was good but pricey. Is it worth the cost? Its a mega resort. If that's your thing. You will love it. Kids will between 8-16 will enjoy the activities, slides and pools.

Room Tip: Cove rooms were very nice

Everything was really nice except the last day I had to re-key at 11am and 2pm I had a late check out from FHR booking confirmed. The staff could care less attitude. When I mentioned it to FHR Kate said well at least you got exercise. Gee thanks, not the response I was looking for!!
The wifi was spotty at 21$ +5$ a day.
We had a wonderful time!

Room Tip: A lot of walking.
