“Convenient to Everything”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

The location over the new bridge is greatand the accomodations are what you expect form Interval. The only negative besides food being expensive, which is the norm, was that the pool at harborside was a little cool. Don't forget to go to Fish Fry the food is wonderful and reasonable.

Room Tip: No car is needed, taxis and shuttles are all you need.

My Husband and I stayed here (Bldg 5 #2774) the week of Sept 7-14th. I was going there following shoulder surgery so I knew it was mainly an R&R trip. When we got there we asked for an upgraded room which we got. It included a balcony which was really nice to have. The room was spacious and clean. It contained everything in the kitchen to cook daily meals. Maid service was once during the week but were available to bring extra towels and whatnot if you needed it you just had to ask. Our balcony overlooked the pool and the three towers in Atlantis. I really wanted to see the sunsets at night and you could see a sliver of it from our balcony. The Point restaurant has a fantastic view of the nightly sunset as well as the side area of the pool. It is a rather industrial area and a lot of the views on the water are of shipping vessels and boats and yacht's as well as the bridge in and out of the island! This property is huge but they have what I call trams or busses which come along every few minuets to bring you to your Atlantis destination. I recommend getting a map from the concierge desk and familiarizing yourself with where you want to go. The staff from the front desk to the housekeepers and transportation workers all seem to have a great attitude and are very willing to help with what ever you need. We spent a day over at the Cove and rented a cabana for the day which was about 20 feet from the beach and pool it was a real treat! The food is ok there is some selection you'll pay a high price for it but your at Atlantis and it's going to be expensive. There is a market you can go and shop in and cook some of your own meals or use the Island service that can deliver food too you! We also went and saw the sites including the casino's we had never been before so it was exciting. Beware they allow you to use your room key as a method of putting money in the machines. Who knew! The pool and grounds are very nice the pool being a comfortable 80ish degrees. We intended on staying close by it as the humidity was in the eighty percents the entire time we were there. The pool is also kid friendly with water spouts and such for them including a little pool. Lifeguards are on duty from morning till about 7pm also life jackets are available and are on racks at the pool. There are 2 food stands in this area of the pool one of them accepts room key only but the Point restaurant does accept cash or a room key! We found this with several eating spots so make sure you have your key at all times. Near the Scotia Bank across the street from the Harborside is a "Straw Market" it's a bunch of stores and a Dunkin Donut for those that must have it! The beach one of my favorite places are very nice the water was beautiful and you could see small schools of fish as you swam. It was nice they have towel stations where you show your wrist band and they give you them. When your done you put them in a bin no lugging towels everywhere. Sadly our vacation soon came to an end and we came home. I miss the warm air and sunshine and mostly the Bahamian people as they are the true gems of the island.

Room Tip: Building 5 room 2774 is in a quiet zone but overlooks the pool. Ask for an upgrade!

Stayed at Atlantis Harborside for 9 days in September. The service is exceptional - very friendly and helpful staff! The property is very well kept, and we had no issues whatsoever with our suite, nor the amenities. And we had complete access to all amenities at Atlantis! The meals are somewhat pricey (about $100 - $125 for dinner for 2), but we made breakfast in our villa each day, and lunches were a little more reasonable at places like Murray's Deli and the Pizza place next door. Also, we went to Nassau to eat and those prices are a little more reasonable as well. There is a 15% gratuitity added to everything you do so be prepared for that as well. Dinner at Virgil's is a must as the portions are huge and designed for at least two people (try the fried catfish) - the food is excellent! Olives is a great choice, though the seafood options are limited, the service is great! Finally, be sure to try to get to Nassau and eat at The Poop Deck, great food and service as well. There are shuttle buses everywhere and they run every 2-3 minutes so no waiting - they have a bus for each Atlantis hotel so you can get around easily from sun-up until 2-3 am. Drivers are friendly and very helpful. Lots to do at Atlantis and be sure to get to all the beaches, slides and definitely the River Rush. Casino is fun and they even have a Sports Betting Lounge where you can watch all the games and races and place your bets. We had a great time and plan on revisiting soon and often!

Room Tip: Ask for a room that overlooks the harbor - you will enjoy seeing the beautiful yachts. You may not...

Check in was very smooth and the staff and bell service were very good. Arriving at the room things seemed in order if not exactly the cleanest I'd ever seen (we vacuumed the carpet, it's the cleanest it's been in a while I suspect). I was pleasantly surprised with the small 1 bedroom unit we had, for 2 people it is completely comfortable. The couch has seen better days as far as stains, but it's comfortable, the bed was very comfortable, however our first night we called 3 times because we had no blankets, no comforter just sheets, ultimately we slept under pool towels, getting the issue resolved the next day. Our room didn't come with liquid dish soap or any of the initial things they start you off like laundry or dishwasher soap, we had to request those things, and they never give out sponges so bring your own if you need one. Everything runs off Island time, The restaurant has happy hour from 5-7 (half off frozen drinks) which we enjoyed. Pool chairs and towels are plentiful and all are well taken care of. Overall staff was hit or miss some were friendly and helpful others weren't, it's unfortunate but that's the case, we rolled with it.

Room Tip: A room near the pool is conveneint, ask for a water view if you want it.

We traded into Harborside from August 9 to the 16th. We were in building #2 (2728/2729). The connecting rooms for seven people was great. We didn't find any problems with the rooms. Yes, everything food wise is expensive, that has been said over and over on here so get over it. We took food in an extra suitcase and packed lunches everyday and over ate out for dinner three times. Remember to buy salt/pepper and paper towels at the local store. One dinner trip was to fish shack area, frankly I didn't think it was worth the taxi ride as we were $32 into dinner and had not even eaten. The staff is well, unfriendly. But after a while you do notice that a few are friendly, but don't expect Disney smiles. The one concierge had to be the worst, so why they don't replace her beats me. I called a week before and asked what building we were going to be in. When they told me #2 I asked if that was near the tunnel as most people say that is bad. They indicated it was not. Guess what, right next to the tunnel. But some ocean sounds on the iPod at night took care of any outside noise, which wasn't too bad except for the motorcycle every morning. The trip to the waterpark was short (shuttle) and not as short (walking) but still no big deal. But not at the end of the day with two kids. The shuttle doesn't take long because they drive like a bat out of hell. The pool at Harborside was nice for late day (or evening although its technically closed) swim. My biggest problem of the whole trip was the life guards checking their texts when they should be watching the pool. That is one big liability disaster waiting to happen. Really, we know why you have your floatation device across your lap you are not fooling anyone. Overall the trip met our expectations and we had a great time. These reviews helped us prepare and know going in what to expect.

Staying at the harborside was great. Breakfast on the balcony overlooking the marina was a real theat seeing the yachts come and go was very cool. The food is very expensive. But you can use all the water parks at the atlantis the keeps you busy all day.

After hearing great things about Harborside Atlantis, I was very excited to visit. However, after just returning from a 4 night stay I have to say I'm extremely disappointed and would not stay here again. Maintenance issues abound on this clearly aging property - we had brown water when we first arrived, one of our shower doors was broken, and the paint was peeling everywhere! Sadly, the worst part of the trip was the service - and this is what you are supposed to be paying the extravagant prices for! Service was absolutely terrible. Request after request went unanswered. We waited 48 hours for door stops and to get our shower door fixed, 6 hours for towels, and no one ever came to look at the brown water. We had just run it until it cleared up and hope that it didn't come back. To add insult to injury, you were hard pressed to find any staff member with a smile on their face. Most times it just felt like you were bothering them when you needed something!

The shuttle service is great and it is a good thing because we did not want to spend any more time in Harborside than we had to. When we were checking out and speaking to the Front Desk Manager she explained that "Harborside is only 50% Atlantis." That's what our entire trip felt like - 50% service level, 50% accommodations - everything was done to half the standard it should have been. In my humble opinion, Atlantis should take their name off this property.

On a more positive note, upper management did make some corrections when we brought these issues to their attention and for that we are appreciative. But by that time, the damage was done. My family gets one vacation per year and we will certainly not be returning here.

Thank you for your review. At Harborside, it is our aim for our guests to enjoy their vacation so much that they want to return. Your review states that though management attempted to recitfy your concerns while you were here, it seems that we have fallen short of our goal. Thank you for choosing Harborside as your vacation destination and I hope we could welcome you back for another stay be it here or at Atlantis.
