“Amazing Resort Overall- Beach Tower Could Be Better”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

The property overall is amazing. The attention to detail in the smallest things is remarkable for such a large institution. The theme of Atlantis is thoroughly integrated throughout the property which is impressive to me.

As far as beach tower goes. It is obviously the lower end of the property but it is still acceptable in terms of quality. Our room could see the ocean on an angle but it also overlooked a neighboring property and some service areas so we lost some of the atmosphere. Also, Beach tower is on one extreme of the property so it is a hike to get to the more desirable areas.

Yes it is expensive (food, drinks, and everything), concede that fact straight away and you will be better for it. I am not a beach person but I would comeback here. However, I would save up and stay in the Cove or Royal Towers instead.

We did a family vacation to Atlantis. The property is HUGE, but lovely. The water park is phenomenal and the beach beautiful. The rooms in the beach tower were just okay. Nothing special to deserve the cost. My nephew did the Trainer for a Day program and absolutely loved it. Again, pricey, but worth the cost after his wonderful experience. We did the meal program, as it would have been cost prohibitive to do otherwise, but even with that, we still were charged ADDITIONAL GRATUITY for these overpriced meals upon check out. That added nearly $2000 to our bill, considering it was 18% and the cost of breakfast buffet was $30 pp, and the average dinner bill for 5 was $600. If you have any physical problems that make walking difficult, do not go as you may find yourself walking at least 30 minutes to some of the restaurants. If you do go, definitely have dinner at The One and Only Ocean Club. FAB!!

Room Tip: Beach tower less expensive but farthest from everything. Only if you enjoy walking!

The only reason I didn't give this hotel a 'poor' rating was that it's in the Bahamas! And we had a lovely time, with lots to do, at Atlantis over Thanksgiving break. The hotel itself, however, is circa 1985 Holiday Inn. Tired, not particularly clean enough, and very entry-level. Not what one would expect at those prices. We were, however, forewarned, so weren't disappointed, and spent most of our time outside. The best part of that particular hotel was the proximity to the Dunkin Donuts, so we didn't have to pay $50/pp for the breakfast buffet! We knew we were doing Atlantis on budget, and clearly you get what you pay for! I must say the staff was kind and responsive, so it's not an employee problem. It just needs a major renovation and more attention to detail.

Room Tip: We paid a little extra for a beach view, which we got, but it also overlooked the roof and power pla...

Went here for Halloween in 2010 and it was AMAZING. I love every waking (and sleeping) second I was there. All I really did here was hang at the lazy river and at the bar. I didn't take advantage of as much as I should have, but I don't have any regrets. Staff was great, we really got to know the bar staff (obviously). They had an awesome party at one of the on site clubs for Halloween.

Went here with one of my friends and we just partied hard the entire time. Great place for single people.

Awesome! Stayed at Beach Tower in December 2012. Booked in July for $99. Excellent at this price, best time to go $. Weather was 80 and sunny everyday and a little breezy, perfect.

Service awesome: Other reviews sadid service and staff were slow and rude. WHAT!!!!! Seriously??? We exp nothing but smiles & over the top courteous staff. Amazing!!! Couldn't believe the level of hospitality.

Restuarants - You can do cheaper than the food plan: My daughter has food allergies and every time we ate a restuarant they would send the chef out. I couldn't of been more pleased and was so thrilled. I don't get that back in the US!!! WOW. Will go back bc of this. Not every rest was open every night. There is a list everyday of activ and rest that are open. We ended up eating at the Marina Rest alot bc others were closed and they were alot more affordable. Very good service at all places. I posted two menus. We ate breakfast across the street at Anthony's for $30 for the 3 of us. TheBB at hotel were $30pp..I wont pay that. Starbucks at hotel its cheaper. Anthonys- 3 min walk from Coral towers. There is The Atlas Bar & Grill right in front of the dig in the Royal T- very cool. Menu $10-$30. Chef was awesome. At Marina Pizzeria pasta to feed 3 for $15 or a lrg pizza for $22, salads for $10. Carmine's in the Marina, fam style rest smelled Amazing though. Ate at Bimini Rd in Marina, sat out on patio..loved it.

Hotel - Beach Tower - Very nice! Beach is not right outside the Hotel door as I thought. a 5 or 6 min walk through the hotel and lobby to beach. Would consider Coral towers next time bc we walked all day and then have to walk back out at night to rest in Marina and its a 10 min walk. There are 4 rest in Beach Tower pricier but if you don't want to do the walk. There is also a shuttle at hotel that will take you to Marina so you dont have to walk. We did that after our 4th night.

Comfort Suites - Very nice - only a 2 min walk & right next door to Coral Tower and its right outside the Marina. If you can book it when its alot cheaper I would def stay to bc you are actually closer to the Marina rest and shops than you are in the Beach Tower. The Atlantis is huge & you walk all day anyways so whats a few extra minutes from this place to the beach. When you get tired, just take the shuttles which are right in front of each hotel. There is no oceanview at CS so if you want that then you have to stay at the Atlantis for sure.

Beach - water is clear and beautiful and felt very safe. Went to Bora Bora and wanted to compare the two beaches and water. This was almost at nice and I wasn't disappointed at all!! The cove beach is a little calmer not as busy but not as nice as the other beach. The beach is public so unfort they do have people trying to sell you things, but if you so no thanks, they do go away.

Room Tip: Oceanview for sure!!!

Our trip to Atlantis and the Beach Tower was for the purpose of a gathering of family who live in the UK and both coasts of the USA. Age range from 1.5 to late 60's. The UK contingent was there working at an event - so that's why we all met up on Paradise Island. Based on a visit 8 years ago by the UK based family, we didn't expect very much in the way of service quality or better than average food, and we did expect food prices to be quite high, even for an island setting. We did hope for warm weather, sunny days, and fun in the pools and around the aquarium features of the resort.

What we experienced exceeded our expectations in some important ways. The public areas of the hotel and the resort in general were nicely kept and decorated appropriately for the setting and theme. The Beach Tower rooms were fine - nothing fancy but clean and functional. We had a top floor view over the convention center - the views toward the beach are much better. The TV signal was grainy but we weren't there for TV. The cleaning staff were friendly and helpful; all the staff were friendly when approached and a good number of them extended friendly greetings and helpfulness. We did notice that staff tended to frequently clump together in conversation, not really working but responsive when approached. The pools, beach, water park, and aquariums were fantastic - along with the great weather it made the whole trip a winner! It may be worth noting that gratuities for cleaners, bell staff, and pool staff are automatically added to the room charge along with taxes and some other daily fees.

We ate at the several outdoor casual dining spots around the pools and beach - they were a bit expensive but not really out of line for a Bahamas resort and the food was OK and the service just fine. Gratuity is automatically added to all food and bev checks.

We had four dinners at the resort and two in Nassau. All were expensive, and all were good or better. This is an area where our returning visitors said quality had gone up compared to 8 years ago - we found the food at the mid level resort restaurants to be very good with excellent service. One couple had a date nite at one of the premium restaurants and said it was super.

A nice mid winter break for us in a warm sunny spot where it was easy to relax and enjoy family and pleasant amenities. We didn't want or need most of the extra charge activities offered at Atlantis; swim with dolphins or stingrays, learn to scuba, rent a kayak or water trike and so forth - those extras along with tours and excursions seemed to be very expensive to me. Also in the uber expensive category were the numerous shops on the resort property.

The place was busy and we saw a lot of people, but it never seemed really crowded nor were there any delays obtaining service.

Room Tip: higher floors with a view into the resort and toward the beach are best

Staff is nice but helpless
We had terrace view.we could only see a black tarry roof with lot of chimneys with periodic cracking sounds and sparks
Lot of garbage, straws . Boxes and litter everywhere on the roof ( pic will be posted)commode had a permanent brown stains., housekeeper told me it is rust.Tiles had dirt in the cracks.
Our sliding door lock was broken, tv remote didnt work. TV pic was snowy
We were promised two connecting rooms
Staff told us that there are only three-4 connecting rooms. Obviously they lied
chairs on the balcony were stained.
Thanks goodness that resort itself was outstanding . Kids loved Atlantis
They should improve accomodation standard
