This is a wonderful hotel with a great view of the marina. It is off the beat and path so if you want something in the middle of everything I would suggest something on Nassau but if you want a relaxing vacation this is the place for you. The staff were amazing and very accomodating (there are shuttles to the grocery store and to Nassau for free) and the rooms are spacious and clean. The pool and hottub is gorgeous. They have a computer in the lobby where you get free internet. They also have a great meet and greet every week where they provide drinks and food. It is a 3 minute walk to a beautiful beach and about a 15 minute walk into the center of Paradise Island where the Atlantis is located.

It is also right next door to the Columbus Tavern which is a really nice restaurant. Every day from 5 to 7 is happy hour where you can get cheap drinks and free appetizers. So if you are going to hardcore party and you want to be in the center of everything it probably isnt for you. But if you want a hidden gem that not too many ppl know about then book your trip here.. you won't be disappointed!

Just make sure you specify it is the Paradise Island Harbour Club and Marina NOT the resort or else the cab drivers will take you to the wrong hotel.

It is not in the same league as the massive aquatic theme hotel located on the same Island but niether is the price. We are buildinga house on PI and use this hotel as a base. The Junior and One Bedroom suites are basic but spacious. Some of the rooms have a great view of the Harbor. The Columbus Tavern located infront of this 23 room hotel and the food is reasonable.
The pool area is ok. Hurricane Hole is about a good 10 minute walk. This hotel is perfect if you want to use it as a base to spend your time exploring the Islands. One can also buy a day pass for the Atlantis without having to spend 3 times more for the hotel room. Whilst the construction site behind the hotel is vast, most of the major work has been completed and there is now very little noise. The site is behind the hotel and therefore not visable from the Junior, one and two bedroom suites. Beware of the 'lockout rooms'. They face the construction site and have zero view.
The staff have always been polite and helpful. Remember.. this is a $140 a night hotel. You get what you pay for. The alternative is $500 a night just down the road. If using this palce for a vacation the the Atlantis day pass is a good option.

We booked the PHC thru a Timeshare exchange with RCI.
It was perfect for us as we were attending my nieces wedding on PI and a few other family members were also staying at PHC.

I struggled with whether or not I should give it an average rating or above average. The complex is not new but since all went well I opted for above average.

The things I liked about the PHC:
It is on the quiet end of Paradise Island.
The rooms were clean.
The employees were friendly and helpful.
The pool area was very nice with a great view of the harbour.
The Columbus Tavern was right on the premises for lunch and dinner.

What I did not like about it:
There is a new complex going up right behind the location and they start working at 8am.

While it was the quiet end of the Island it was a 15 minute walk or a cab ride to any stores, restaurants, Atlantis etc.

If you want a quiet vacation on PI this is a good choice.

My 3 girlfriends and I stayed here for a week and had a great time, although there are good and bad things.

The basics:
We had 2 bedroom 2 bath unit. Gave us plenty of room for clothes, shoes, etc. and living space. Kitchen was basic but very functional with oven, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher and fridge. Ice was available down the hall. We got some food from the Beach Club mart the first night and went to the grocery store the next day; groceries are pricey, but cheaper than dining out and we were able to fill the fridge with soft drinks, healthy snacks etc.

The Bad:

Construction going on directly behind the building, messy.

Not near anything but other residences. Have to taxi to Atlantis/shopping area; we walked it one day and got very hot. Taxi or water taxi also needed to go downtown. Also, make sure taxi drivers know where you are staying -- several tried to take us to P.I. Harbor Resort.

The water taxi and the golf cart to the beach operate on Bahama time -- i.e., they don't necessarily follow the schedules printed. However, the front desk folks were always helpful in getting us to the beach.

The Good

The pool with its waterfall and marina view is gorgeous! There are huge umbrellas which really do block the sun and keep you cool if you need to escape. The hot tub was also great.

The beach is gorgeous and the staff at the Beach Club helped us set up chairs and umbrellas. [We never had any problem smells that some of the Beach Club reviews mention].

The girls at the front desk were great at getting taxis, etc. The fellow who ran the shuttles (I forgot his name, it was something like Marwin) was the nicest guy. He even held the water taxi for us one time when we just needed to run in town and get right back .

The resort was pretty quiet and peaceful, which is what we were looking for. You can take a taxi relatively cheap to get to Atlantis for gambling and dining (Nobu rocks!), but if you want non-stop action, this is not the place for you.

The Columbus Grill was a great place to have drinks/dinner and they would bring drinks to the pool.

In summary, I think this is a great value. We had maid service every day (contrary to some of the reviews of the Beach Club). While this is not a luxury resort catering to you every whim, we found it to be just what we needed, and the staff friendly and helpful. I would absolutely go again.

  • Liked — The beach and the pools
  • Disliked — The distance from Atlantis/downtown and the construction

Hi, just returned from a weeks stay here. Just a few notes.
Property is clean, construction going on right behind the building, did get a little loud at times. Columbus Tavern on property has really good food. Do watch for bed bugs, they are rampant on the islands. Would have awesome views of the harbour, but the restaurant kind of blocks a lot of it. No elevator on the property, we were on the 3rd floor, pack light, makes for a lot of lugging up stairs. Pool is nice, shuttle to the beach is ok, wait for it if you want or just walk over to the beach club. This place is kind of too far away from anything to walk to and fro, plan on lot's of taxis, the front desk is prompt on calling them for you however. My thought on this is it was a good value compared to other property on PI, who spends that much time in the room anyway? If you want more info just yell !

Three weeks after we returned from our one night stay at this place, they sent us a "receipt for damages" they imagined we made to a blanket. They claimed we ironed a blanket and damaged it. We were there for one night, and we brought no clothes that even needed ironing. We didn't iron anything, and we didn't damage any blankets. They charged our credit card anyway, and we are currently disputing the charges. There is NO WAY I am paying for someone else's damages. They told us, "housekeeping checks the rooms after every guest leaves, so it had to be you." Well, all I know is that we didn't do it, so obviously housekeeping didn't check very well.

Needless to say, I cannot in good conscience recommend a place that robs their guests. If you have to stay there, I suggest you have someone from the hotel look through the room when you check in to determine whether there is anything damaged or not, and check out when there is someone in the office (there was no one there when we checked out early in the morning), and have them thoroughly check your room and put in writing that there is nothing damaged. Otherwise you will be charged for other guests' damages.

If you have to check out early in the day then do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. It is not worth the hassle to stay at a hotel with such dishonest staff.

My husband and I visited Paradise Harbour Club and Marina on 11/05/05 - 11/12/05. It was our first time to Nassau/Paradise Island and getting a taxi was no problem from the airport. It was a 30 minuite drive and it costs us $31.00 including the toll and our luggage. The Paradise Harbor Resort and Marina is located aproxomately one mile from the Atlantis. Our room was ready for us upon arrival. Our one bedroom unit was equipped with a full kitchen, but our view was disappointing, looking directly at the office/Columbus Tavern. There was no thermostat in the room, you had to get someone to adjust the room temperature! There is only one tv located in the parlor. The pool water was cool, around 80 degrees and was cleaned daily. No problem getting lounge chairs or a table with an umbrella. The hot tub was large enough for 6 people, but we seemed to be the only ones using it particually in the evening. The resort has a shuttle that takes you to their sister resort, The Paradise Harbour Resort Club, on a timed schedule, but it's whenever they feel like it. If you miss it, it's about a 10 min. walk to that resort. You'll enjoy the wonderful odors emanating from the sewage treatment plant located in the vinicity of the two resorts. At the PHRC there is a small store that sells bread, milk, booze and other things that you may need, but like I said, it's a small store not a market. The closest market is in Nassau on Bay Street, a six dollar taxi ride. The beach is just steps from the pool but most lounge chairs were taken whenever we got there, so we enjoyed our pool and the view at the Marina instead. The Marina also has complimentary boat rides to/from Nassau, but on the day we did take it, the boat never arrived in Nassau to take us back. We had to cram into another boat that had at least 50 people in it, and that boat ride only took us to the Atlantis! Another mile walk from the Atlantis, or a six dollar taxi ride to PHCM. We always woke up at 7:15 to the owners dog yapping away by the office. If I were ever to go back to Nassau, I would stay at or near the Atlantis. To us it wasn't worth all the walking and taxi's back and forth and the resort itself wasn't that great.
