My husband, me and our 19-yr old daughter just returned from a very relaxing, "unplugged" 6-night stay at Bay View Suites. Our suite (Room # 244, a GREAT location on the property) had a pull-out bed for my daughter in the living area, a nice size kitchen, and a king bedroom for my husaband and me. It was a very comfortable set-up.
I say "unplugged" because here, you can relax in relative privacy in a gorgeous, lovingly tended garden-type setting. The staff is low-key; you are barely aware of them doing their jobs, but everything is spotless and their attention to detail is lovely. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a bowl of hibiscus flowers on the clean white tablecloth covering our dining table. The flowers were refreshed daily, to our delight. In the fridge was a hospitality bag of groceries: eggs, bread, butter and jam, bacon, sodas and milk. You can choose to keep whatever you want of the items and pay for them in the on-premises mini mart or return whatever you don't want, in which case you're not charged for those items. It was nice!
You can opt for the razzle-dazzle of Atlantis any time as it's just a 5-minute walk to get there. Also close is a grocery store where you can pick up staples like bottled water and snacks, and a great, cheap coffee shop/deli called the News Cafe.
We spent lots of time enjoying the pool (only one of which was open during our stay). It's surrounded by trees and plants, giving a pleasant sense of privacy, and it was never crowded. There was no sense of having to stake out a lounge chair. Just great!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Bay View Suites in Aug, 2006. We had a great time!!!!!!! In our villa we had a kitchen that was right off of our bedroom. There are 3 pools there, and though they are small, me and my boyfriend loved the privacy we had. The service at the bar by the pool was nice too.

While this is not a 4 star hotel, it was worth it to stay there. If you are looking for something cozy and inexpensive, this is your best bet. I will say that we did have a problem with a 5 hour power outage but that is something you will just have to expect while staying in the Bahamas. My boyfriend and I were a little upset, but we made the best of it and just left the hotel and explored more of the Bahamas!

In all, where ever you go just remember your trip is what you make it. We had a great time and would recommend this hotel, especially for those traveling on a budget.

I have had the pleasure of staying at Bayview Village on several occasions, all of which have been a very positive experience. The suites, townhouses and villas are simply but nicely appointed and comfortable. What I particularly love about this property is the plethora of beautiful, colorful flowers everywhere! You feel as though you are living in a private garden, yet you are just a short walk from the beach, casinos, restaurants and shopping. The property's rates are an excellent value when compared to other options on Paradise Island. I recommend Bayview Village highly, and look forward to a return visit.

We stayed four nights at the BW Bay View Suites and enjoyed it immensely. You were a short walk away from the action at Atlantis and the beach, but the BW was quiet and relaxing. The rooms were spacious and well-kept. The grounds were full of lush plants and unique sculptures. There are three pools so very rarely was anyone in our pool and it was nice in the evening. You would have sworn there were few other guests, although I overheard that it was almost full. We saved money by eating breakfast and lunch in the room, as restaurants are expensive on Paradise Island. It was less expensive to buy from the hotel store rather than the deli/store nearby. I was surprised by the hidden charge at checkout of $3.75 per person, per day for housekeeping. However, the housekeeping staff was great: fresh flowers in our room every day. The property is enclosed by a wall and there is security at the front 24 hours a day. We will definitely return. Take the Stuart's Cove snorkel trip and take a cab accross the bridge for dinner at the Poop Deck. Have a mango daiquiri for me.

For those who love amenities but not ostantation, a tropical paradise that doesn't remind you of Disney, Bay View Village is a getaway dream. Within short walking distance from beach, fine dining, and some great shopping, this little undiscovered treasure has wonderful rooms, a warm, friendly and competent staff, lush gardens, two great pools, and its the perfect recipe for rest and relaxation.

I took my 22-year-old daughter there for her birthday, and we both fell in love. We'll be back!

Chris
