My husband, me and our 19-yr old daughter just returned from a very relaxing, "unplugged" 6-night stay at Bay View Suites. Our suite (Room # 244, a GREAT location on the property) had a pull-out bed for my daughter in the living area, a nice size kitchen, and a king bedroom for my husaband and me. It was a very comfortable set-up.
I say "unplugged" because here, you can relax in relative privacy in a gorgeous, lovingly tended garden-type setting. The staff is low-key; you are barely aware of them doing their jobs, but everything is spotless and their attention to detail is lovely. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a bowl of hibiscus flowers on the clean white tablecloth covering our dining table. The flowers were refreshed daily, to our delight. In the fridge was a hospitality bag of groceries: eggs, bread, butter and jam, bacon, sodas and milk. You can choose to keep whatever you want of the items and pay for them in the on-premises mini mart or return whatever you don't want, in which case you're not charged for those items. It was nice!
You can opt for the razzle-dazzle of Atlantis any time as it's just a 5-minute walk to get there. Also close is a grocery store where you can pick up staples like bottled water and snacks, and a great, cheap coffee shop/deli called the News Cafe.
We spent lots of time enjoying the pool (only one of which was open during our stay). It's surrounded by trees and plants, giving a pleasant sense of privacy, and it was never crowded. There was no sense of having to stake out a lounge chair. Just great!
