“A Great place to unwind!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

We were there at this place for 5 nights. The fully equipped kitchen with the utensils added to our advantage as we were traveling with our 4 year old daughter. The property is very beautiful and the suites are clean and neat. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The poolside restaurant serves pretty good food and I personally liked it better than the food at the Fish Fry and a few other local restaurants we had our lunch at. There is also a coin laundromat and a mini store that sells basic grocery of drinks, water, breakfast items and snacks. The 2 birds by the pool side kept us entertained too.Approx 10 mins walk to the Cabbage beach and the Atlantis and the mall.
All is all a great stay and definitely would come back here.

Great place, nice room, great location in Paradise Island (walking distance from the Atlantis and the beach) very nice and friendly staff, the very first day we got there my wife realized that she left some medication at home for our kid, and when asking one of the maids (Christine) were could we find a farmacy, she immediately said that she would take us!! (she never expected something in return, but we definitely thanked her appropriately). Would definitely stay there again!

This hotel is great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is very big, includes a sala with sofa bed, kitchen with utensils and a room very comfortable. The room is super clean, smells great. the only recommendation that I would give would be to have transportation to the marina to go eat. Specially thanks to Christine for the help!!!!! I appreciate a lot!!!!!!!

This place is definately not worth the price you get charged for stay there. What you get:
- outdated rooms
- cocroaches and other insects
- do not risk walking barefoot in your room (after 5 minutes your feet will be black even if cleaning personell just left)
- very spotty internet even if you deposit 20 USD for internet cable (it can be that internet is not working at all during your stay)
- clueless personnell that does not do anything or after a looooong while after you complain or ask for something
- forget about lunch or dinner on the premises - bar/cafe closes at 4pm and has very limited selectio of food and drinks
- very old appliances in the kitchen that could be also broken

Only positive thing about this place is landscaping and surroundings.

We decided to spend a few days here on our way to Cat Island so we could go to Atlantis Casino without paying Atlantis room prices. The Suite was comfortable and clean. The staff was very nice. The pool was chilly, but it was nice to sun ourselves, mingle with other guests, and enjoy drinks from the Bar. The Hotel Kitty kept us company by staying on our terrace every night. The Grounds were very nice. Not Luxury, but everything we needed for a pleasant, low key visit to Nassau.

What a wonderful surprise to find that this Best Western is not a high rise! The rooms are cottages that are large with 2 bedrooms a bathroom in each, large living area with TV and cable, full kitchen and a large patio partly covered and with furniture and lounge chairs with cushions and your own little gate.My sister and I stayed here and were so pleasantly surprised by the accommodations we wished we were staying more than 2 nights.
The bar/restaurant poolside made a nice place for breakfast (although they did not brew decaffeinated coffee - cannot handle regular, but that is my thing) listening to the birds singing.
The staff was exceptional, Sandra was so kind and helpful and so was Alan (I think that was his name). They helped with our needs for a taxi and luggage storage for a couple of hours after check out. Also they made some local phone calls for us for the next part of our trip, so we did not have to incur charges.
The beach is a short walk away, and you can walk over the bridge to other restaurants and shops and not pay for "Atlantis" prices.
The comment about the parrots in a cage earlier is kinda silly considering they are well treated and loved and many people have feathered pets.
This is a great location and reasonably priced for Paradise Island that is not a resort (which we did not want).
It feels like home!

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet, so i don't think you can have a bad room.

I have conflicted feelings about this hotel. The bed was comfortable, the "room" (which was actually a cottage) was clean and very large. It included a bedroom with TV and sliding glass door onto a little private yard, outdoor furniture, a full sized kitchen, bathroom with tub, and living room with sofa, chair, dining set and another TV; and ceiling fans in each room. The other plus points included free parking, cable TV, a small safe, several nice (small) swimming pools, nicely landscaped gardens, a laundry facility, and a small children's play area. Additionally, you can walk to Atlantis, Cabbage Beach, and a shopping mall with a pharmacy and convenience store, restaurant and Dunkin Donuts, and the area seems relatively safe (though, like anywhere, you need to be aware and alert.) I also felt a bit nervous about the safety of having the sliding glass door backing up to a private yard because I didn't see any security guards save for the guy sitting up at the front desk. Now for the negatives: they charge you for phone calls (even local ones), there was no easy way to get luggage to your room (stairs, stairs, stairs), there's no wi fi Internet in the rooms (there is wi fi in the office and by the pools), no bottled water in the room (and nowhere on property to buy any) and they did not provide some relatively basic things like dish soap, coffee, salt & pepper, etc. I also had a constant fight with (I assume) the cleaning people about having the air conditioner on. There was a mosquito problem even in the room and I would leave the A/C running in part to try and thwart the mosquitos, and I would come home and the HVAC would be switched off and turned to " fan" which i wouldn't notice until i woke up in the middle of the night sweating. that was annoying. Also there were a couple of very large bugs like a beetle which snuck its way in as well, because there was quite a big crack under the front door. So, not a super luxurious feeling. Only one out of the two windows had window screens. And just some basic stuff that they could improve on.... like they have a laundry room but do not sell or provide soap, they have a bar/restaurant but it is not open for dinner, etc. There are also two parrots in sort of a small cage which I found a little depressing; it would have been nice to see them in a flight cage instead, but at least they are obviously well looked after.

All in all, an ok stay - not terrible, but not amazing either. It was fine. Would I recommend it? Yes, I would, especially if you are a family or are here for a longer amount of time and/or have a rental car and are looking for a base from which to explore the island. I have a toddler and we had a rental car which is why I chose the place and it worked well for us. Lots of room, both in the unit and on the grounds, it was quiet and private and the workers and other guests were all friendly and nice.
