I have visited the Historical society and have even had a chance of performing as a musician on its stage. There are many artifacts including tools used by slaves as well as Arawaks, old pictures of Nassau city, various land marks and hotels, genealogy, books and articles. It also feature local plays and concerts from time to time. I was told that before the building became the Historical Society, back in the 1800s or so it was called the Independent Order of the Daughters of the Empire and basically that's a sophisticated name for a brothel where white sailors/soldiers and the rich used came for white female prostitutes. Overall a great place to visit if your into history.
