Arawak Cay is an informal dining locale just outside of Nassau which consists of a row of wooden restaurants built to resemble shacks, most with water views. The anchorage has a rear view of a canal that extends into the ocean. My wife and I were invited as guests and we found this restaurant to be very pleasant and the typical Bahamian food was excellent and plentiful for the price. I ordered cracked conch and my wife and most of our party ordered steamed grouper which was served with the usual peas and rice, macaroni and cheese and your choice of side i.e. french fries or cole slaw or salad. The food was fresh and tasted delicious. The waitress was friendly and we were ok with our outdoor seating with the view of the canal. But don't expect the ritz with this restaurant or others on Arawak Cay. if you are in the mood for a down home and informal restaurant serving fresh and plentiful seafood meals then the Anchorage fits the bill. If you are expecting more formal dining then you may be disappointed.
