“Good Choice on Arawak Cay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

Arawak Cay is an informal dining locale just outside of Nassau which consists of a row of wooden restaurants built to resemble shacks, most with water views. The anchorage has a rear view of a canal that extends into the ocean. My wife and I were invited as guests and we found this restaurant to be very pleasant and the typical Bahamian food was excellent and plentiful for the price. I ordered cracked conch and my wife and most of our party ordered steamed grouper which was served with the usual peas and rice, macaroni and cheese and your choice of side i.e. french fries or cole slaw or salad. The food was fresh and tasted delicious. The waitress was friendly and we were ok with our outdoor seating with the view of the canal. But don't expect the ritz with this restaurant or others on Arawak Cay. if you are in the mood for a down home and informal restaurant serving fresh and plentiful seafood meals then the Anchorage fits the bill. If you are expecting more formal dining then you may be disappointed.

“Food and setting good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

We headed from our accomodation to go to Fish Fry, we checked out the various establishments and were enticed into the Anchorage. The food was great (just tooo much). In hind sight, a entree and a main between 2 would have been enough. The service was good, the Bahama mama's and Kalik also were good with the meal. The cost was reasonable. For entree we had conch fritters and conch salad, I am now addictted to conch fritters (but where to get in Australia?). Well worth a visit.

“Maybe it was an off day for them !”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013 via mobile

I realize people had good food and experience . Our service was awful and the food was ok. The lobster seemed very good but after waiting. 1.5 to eat, it was too much. It also seemed like they didn't care at first . I would go when it is not busy and look around , check out Athena in Nassau , best Greek around

“Good Food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

We had a great view with a breeze, but had to move due to construction. Don't sit near the side with all the shells from the conch. When your food comes, so do the flies!.....Food was in ample supply and we could not finish it all!

“Great Food! Service was lacking.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Our entrees were delicious. I had conch and lobster. My husband had the grouper. Unfortunately, our waiter was incredibly slow. My Goombay Smash was quite tasty, but it took forever to get a second one.
