We stayed at the Sandals Royal Bahamian for 7 nights and it was bliss. After arriving on an early flight, the front desk staff were very helpful in getting us our room before the usual check in time & had our bags sent to our room while we went for breakfast. When we got to our room there was quite a lot of noise that sounded like something was going to come through the walls any minute! My husband went down to reception and the lady described the work as "minor refurbishments" and told him that unfortunately we couldn't change rooms that day but we would be able to the following day & as an apology we could have a free couples massage in the spa. The massage more than made up for the couple of hours we had with the noise, it was amazing!! The next day we were moved to a room in the opposite building and it had a sea view & was a lot more modern than the room previous, we were really pleased that the hotel were able to move us. The staff were all so friendly and as the hotel does not allow cash transactions during your stay, it felt genuine and not just for the sake of a tip. The restaurants served some of the nicest food we have ever eaten, especially Gordon's on the pier and the French a la carte restaurant. I really could not fault any of the food we had, it was top notch! The offshore island is beautiful (although it's made out that it is Sandals' own island, it is half private!) and it really wasn't used as much as it should have been! The boat to take people back and forth to the island are every hour & the restaurant over there is lovely. We went snorkelling twice, the first time there were only 6 of us doing it & we were taken to a lovely part of the reef & were able to see many different types of fish & amazing colours on the reef. The second time, there were about 36 of us & we had to go to a different part of the reef where there weren't as many fish, it was still enjoyable but if you want the best sights, book on for snorkelling when there aren't many others doing it! The evening entertainment was really good, we were a bit unsure at first but it's not just the playmakers that take part in the shows, there are professional dancers that come in each night. We went on a day trip to Paradise Island to the Atlantis Water Park & that was brilliant fun. Our honeymoon at Sandals Royal Bahamian was exactly what we wanted, somewhere we could chill out (as we'd just had 5 days in Vegas) but I'm not sure whether we'd return, we've been there, done that now but I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting an all inclusive hotel in the Bahamas.
