“Great Trip!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

Another great trip to a Sandals Resort!
The staff was very friendly and the service was fantastic!
All the food and drinks were fantastic, plentiful and included a large variety to choose from.
Loved the offshore island, quiet and secluded place to hang out for the day.
Entertainment at night was pretty good.

Anything you ask for, Sandals takes care of it for you.

Really enjoyed the trip and would recommend it.

This was our second return to Sandals, celebrating our 30 th. Anniversary. We so love it.
Fom the moment you arrive till you leave you are treated so well. The staff are all so friendly.
Honorable mention goes to Damien Hall, also not forgetting Nadia, they made our visit so pleasant.
The comeback dinner was superb, entertainment fantastic, never fails to impress us.
Our favorite dinner was at the Italian Casanova's, but they are all good, well I didn't like the Stewfish, that's just me.
If the weather had been better, there was more we could have done, but then no one can predict that.
In total we have vacationed 6 times @ sandals we have to say this is our favorite, now that there isn't a Dunn's River no more. Booking again before we leave.
Thanks Royal Bahamian.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Windsor 1619 it face's the ocean

This was our third time staying at a Sandals and our first time with butler service. Having a butler is a completely different experience that I recommend if you can afford it. We were picked up in a Rolls Royce at the airport and given a private tour of the resort by our butler. We received a free upgrade from a villa to a room overlooking the ocean.

We had 3 butlers throughout our stay. Our dinner reservations were already made for us when we arrived, saving us a lot of time. Our butler would ask where we wanted to sit each day and would have a cabana or two chairs reserved for us by the beach or pool (whichever we asked for). That’s just one perk of having a butler; they reserve seats for you. Other people with butler service would reserve cabanas, but then would never use them, which I did not think was right, as other couples could have used them throughout the day.

Each night when we returned from dinner, our butler had turned down our room and there would be a “towel animal” and some snacks on the bed. We went to the private island a couple of times, where we had a cabana reserved for us. We would have liked to have gone more often, however it was very windy and the boat did not run. That was the one downfall of our stay at the Royal Bahamian – very windy and a bit chilly. The area was experiencing a bit of a cool spell, so I doubt this will be a factor for everyone. Due to the weather conditions, we were unable go snorkeling or do any of the water sports offered. The ocean was also quite cold.

Food
The restaurants are all very nice. I liked the French restaurant the best (Baccarat), the service was impeccable and the rock lobster divine. My husband had an excellent T-bone steak at the Italian restaurant, Casanova. The service was sometimes hit-or-miss. Some waiters went into an “auto-mode” or weren’t very friendly, while others were super-attentive, extremely friendly and courteous. Overall, the food was satisfying but not mind-blowing.

Grounds/cleanliness
The resort was very clean and well-manicured. Our room was clean and very big, no complaints. We stayed in the Windsor tower, which is a bit older and decorated traditionally, a bit Italianesque. The Balmoral is the newer tower and bit more modern. The rooms seem slightly more clean-lined in the Balmoral, but either tower seemed lovely. The villas seemed nice too, but were smaller than I expected.

Fitness Center
My husband gives it an 8/10. It is on the top floor and overlooks the ocean. There’s a bunch of treadmills and plenty of workout equipment. I checked it out too, and it seemed pretty nice. I say the view is 10/10. How often can you run on a treadmill overlooking the ocean?

More butler service…
Like I said, having a butler is an experience in itself. We had snacks on our bed each night, like chocolate covered strawberries, crackers and cheese, fresh fruit, wine, champagne... Our butler packed us a lunch when we went to Atlantis for the day (because that place is ridiculously expensive – a little bottle of water is $8.50!!!).

Upon arrival back at the resort after our day trip, our butler had our tub full of rose petals and bubbles – seriously! It was awesome! My husband was looking for the beer, Klick Gold, which was not available at the resort, but rather at a liquor store somewhere out of the way. Our butler got him some! Our butler arranged a later checkout for us so we could take our time leaving the resort. Our butlers literally took care of everything for us. We tipped our butlers at the end of our stay, which they said they preferred. I looked up what to tip prior to going on the trip and most people said to tip from 10-50 bucks per day, per butler. That’s kind of a big range. We had 3 butlers, but only had two per day. They each did different things for us (I don’t think we asked for too much) and we figured they were pretty even with what they ended up doing for us. We ended up tipping our butlers $95 each for the week. I brought thank you cards with me and wrote each a note with the tip.

Plan on going to Atlantis for a day?
This place is ridiculously expensive. It cost us each $135 ($155 with transportation) to get a day pass for the water park and to walk around. Although the water park is fun and the aquarium really cool, and I am glad we went, the cost is not worth it. We did more at a place like Xplore in the Mayan Riviera for way less and food was included. Bring a lunch if you can and plenty of water. It’s overwhelming, but you might as well check it out if you are there.

Pay for Wi-Fi? Seriously?!
If I had one major complaint, it would be having to pay for wi-fi (something like .60 per minute). For the price we paid for this trip, I would think that wi-fi would be included. Not that I wanted to be updating my facebook every 5 seconds or anything, but it would have been nice to check up on home, send a quick note to the parents, check the weather, little things that you have just come to rely on in the digital age, you know? So, Sandals, give us free wi-fi...

Room Tip: Villas are quieter. Overlooking the ocean/pool in the Windsor tower is nice, but there is noise ver...

From the moment we arrived at the Nassau airport, we were treated like royalty. We were there from March 3 - March 10, 2013 and had a vow renewal ceremony on the beach at this resort. We would definitely recommend this Sandals Resort and if possible get the butler Category. You won't regret it. It might cost a little more but they cater to your ever move, food, pool side beverage service, you name it, and our butlers took care of it. Our room was always cleaned, bed turn down at night, little plate of treats left by our butlers every night, and they just bent over backwards to make sure my spouse and I were having the time of our life and not wanted for anything. You must go to the breakfast buffet at spices as its awesome, food very fresh, and Criketers Irish pub was the best. We have already made our reservation to another Sandals for next year to experience one in Jamaica. Can't say enough good things about how friendly the staff are here and how they made sure we had a wonderful vacation and vow renewal ceremony.

Room Tip: If you go for the highest category that includes Butler try and get the Royal Bahamian Honeymoon sui...

This is our 4th Sandals and it was everything we expected. A 7 a.m. JetBlue flight out of NY puts you poolside with a drink by noon! Make your dinner reservations as soon as you arrive. There are 2 huge pools plus many smaller pools along with many hot tubs. The resort is much larger than we expected and they have a private island. Staff was great and no one walks by you without saying hello. Food was better than expected. Surprised at the negative reviews we read about long wait to be seated. 20-30 minutes wait was what we experienced, which is normal anywhere.....go to the bar and get a drink you are on vacation dummies!! Would definitely go back for a quick trip again.

My review is several months late, however, better late than never.

We traveled to Sandals Royal Bahamian on October, 2012. It was my husband, me and another couple. First time staying at a Sandals resort.

Nice and quick ride to the resort from the airport . We were welcomed with cool, fragrant towels. We were escorted inside where we were greeted and given champagne. Check in was a bit of a long process. Our rooms were not ready,so we were given a tour of the resort and had lunch. After lunch our rooms were ready. We stayed in the Balmoral building. Our room was spacious and clean. We had a partial ocean view. Well stocked refrigerator.

The beach was wonderful. We spent one day on the private island. You need to get the boat over to the island early to get chairs.

We did not use either of the pools. They were always crowded and always the same people in the hot tubs.

The selection of restaurants were good. The food was overall good. Service was slow at times. We have stayed at other all inclusives and Sandals has much better selection of food.

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Kudos to the front desk staff. They remained professional and courteous when many guests were rude and angry during Sandy. They worked with trying to change our flights due to the storm and spoke directly to the airline for us.

We had three nice sunny days. We did do the Dolphin Encounter at the Blue Lagoon which was great. The company sends out a shuttle to pick you up right at the resort and then takes you back when you are ready to return

Hurricane Sandy hit on our 4th day. I must say that Sandals management and staff were very informative keeping all guests informed during the storm and did their best during a difficult time. We had to stay an extra day due to the storm and our extra night was free. The four of us still enjoyed ourselves even with the interruption of Sandy. We did feel bad for those couples who were getting married at the resort when Sandy made her presence. Also, the resort was a mess the day after the storm. The dock to catch the boat to the private island was destroyed. The pools were filled with sand. Landscaping was a mess. The staff were upbeat and were ready to get to work to put things back together.

I would definitely return to Sandals in the future, though would probably avoid hurricane season.

Cons: Rude staff in the resort gift shop. They made you feel like you were bothering them.

Having to pay for Internet service is ridiculous.

This resort is amazing. 5 stars resort, all that you can have, is right there. Service, food, people all fabulous. This is an adult resort only. With concierge or have your own butler at your service 24 hours for all your stay. Your chair by the pool is reserve. Your lounge chair at the beach is reserve with towels and your name on it. There 3 pools, one a big noisy with loud music, the other softer music for more relax atmosphere and the third one complete silence for the ones that is a meditation mode or just listen the birds signing. All at your service. Amazing.

Room Tip: Rooms at the north side are better view. Pool and ocean.
