Since I own Amore Travel, I've had the opportunity to visit all of the Sandals properties. In my thirty yrs. experience I've never had anyone not totally enjoy any of the Sandals. Stayed at Royal Bahamian many times. Each time my experience has been great. Beautiful resort with great staff, food, entertainment and accommodations. I always stayed in the Windsor bldg. since it's close to beach and restaurants and has fabulous views.

Room Tip: choose the Windsor bldg., higher flrs.. it's close to restaurants beach and off shore island

First time, and not the last, at Sandals for 3 nights starting Valentines Day 2013.
Best tip I would humbly pass on; be polite and friendly to the staff (ask them their names even though they have name tags). Treat them like your favorite family member and you'll have a wonderful time.

Food was good. Best restaurants were Baccarat for breakfast twice ( order the caviar, perfect poached eggs for eggs Benedict, excellent omelet); dinner once ( escargot, crab cake, lobster, fish in papillote) and the Royal Cafe (seafood omlet for breakfast grouper and lamb for lunch) Ricarda the chef, can cook! Spices always has a good and varied buffet.

Best of all were the staff.
Blessings to the Concierge crew, the bar staff (especially Cupcakes and Fluffy in the piano bar). The restaurant servers at the Crystal room and Baccarat, especially Arizona and her staff at the Royal Cafe. She went the extra mile to make us feel special. Damien at the Back Soon booking desk.
The people at Snap Shots; Alex, Amaeleo, Jermaine, and Elizabeth.

All of the entertainment was top notch.
(Congrats to Ronny, try to hear her world class singing voice)
Most of all, Leo the piano player, was very accomplished, gracious, and fun. If U like to sing, don't miss it! Tell him "Beyonce says hello and enjoyed performing with him" He can explain it.

Relax and enjoy this Paradise! (get out to the island, weather permitting).

Room Tip: Ask for an Oceanfront view in the Tower, if available in your booking category. Breathtaking!

This was our first Sandals Experience and will not be our last. Let me start by saying that we were married at this resort (Sandals Royal Bahamian) and our honeymoon was in Exuma (Sandals Emerald Bay - please see review under that resort's name).

Leading up to the trip I had my concerns due to the price that Sandals charged and hoped that it was worth what we paid. I was not disappointed.

We booked the Royal Garden room for a 5 night stay from Jan 23rd -28th. We had 19 guests for our wedding so I was also concerned that everyone else would have a great time as well. EVERYONE had the best time ever.

We were greeted at the Sandals desk at the airport. Note: It really is a desk, nothing else. It is located right next to Atlantis' greeting area which was a constructed room. Sandals area has a "coming soon" flag next to the desk. We were greeted by the Sandals rep who instructed us to go outside and informed us where we could meet our free transfer. Within minutes were were boarded and on our way to the resort. The Resort is about a 10-15 minute ride from the airport, not bad at all. Upon arrival we were all greeted with a wet towel and a glass of champagne. Due to the fact that there were 8 of us checking in at the same time, the registration time went surprising fast. We did finish 2 bottles of champagne but between 8 of us. We were all very excited.

We were upgraded to the newly renovated Balmoral Tower room 304 with a balcony overlooking the pool and ocean. We were given a full bar which is part of the conceirge package which we did not pay for. I was immediately happy that we chose this resort. The elevator was extremely fast, never had to wait for more than a minute for the elevator to arrive. Everything about the room was awesome: flatscreen TV, wonderful shower, separate sinks, confortable bed. We were in heaven.

The resort is on the average size. 2 huge pools (one was warmer than the other. The colder pool was to cold to go into). They have several hot tubs throughout the resort which were wonderful. The beach is average size as well but the water was gorgeous. If you want Jet-ski's they are located just off the resort but safe, available and not to expensive. 6 of us went out at the same time, what a blast! They have a private Island which you can go to during the day hours. A boat leaves every hour on the hour and the last boat back is around 3:30pm. This island is so serene. I found myself sitting in a chair on the back of the island and there was not one other person on the beach with me. I was on top of the world. They have a small pool and hot tub, restaurant as well. We did not try either so cannot comment. But the island is a must see.

The food at most places were very good, not exceptional but very edible. The only restaurant that we disliked was Baccarat. This is their French restaurant. Service was very slow for breakfast, coffee was cold and food was just OK. Their dinner was not very good. The crab-leg they give was so skinny that there was really no meat, probably a frozen leg. Plus one of the waitresses dropped a butter knife that splashed oil on my silk Tommy Baham shirt. She apologized but that was about it. Kimonos gets a bad rap. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and Theo was extremely entertaining. The Italian restaurant Casanova's was also very good. Spices is their buffet style spot which was great for breakfast. They have this freshly squeezed orange juice machine which is to die for. The food at the Pub was decent bar food but the bartender's were great there. Overall for an all-inclusive the food was above par.

If you are getting married at this resort, do not fret me brotha! They do an excellent job at preparing you for your big day. Carla, the on-site weding coordinator, was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! She introduced herself by coming up to our room and giving us the heads up on what to expect. We then met with her to go over everything from the area that we would get married, to our choice of wedding cake, to our reception. She threw in so many extra options for free it made our day a storybook wedding. Reverend Hutchinson was awesome as well. He made a very nervous couple feel warm and welcomed. Several times cutting the tension with a well appointed joke. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL FOR YOUR WEDDING HANDS DOWN!!!.

We paid for the hair and makeup for my wife prior our wedding. She wanted me to mention that they will not wash your hair. They will style it but you must show up to the appointment with your hair washed. She was not very happy with that considering the charge for the hair and makeup with around $200.

Now I might have a skewed opinion of this resort because we had so many friends and family members staying with us, it was a 5 night big ole party. But I must say that I would return in a heartbeat.

Best part: We had a 7 hour layover on our return flight from our honeymoon. They offered to pick us up at the airport and bring us back to Royal Bahamian to hang out until our next flight home instead of sitting in the airport. That was really classy!!! Again, thanks Carla...we will always remember you.

I had a massage at the spa, absolutely wonderful. Request Rachel. SHE WAS AWESOME

From NY to Bahamas was a 2 hour and 20 minute flight. My first trip and definitely not my last.

This Vacation was the most enjoyable experience that we have had so far. The room in the Villa Ixora was superb in the bottom floor facing the heated pools with hot tub. Service was excellent. All of the staff was very attentive from day 1 until depart

Room Tip: The Royal Village is away from the activity, but a great location.

We stayed at the Sandals Royal Bahamian, Nassau, Bahamas from Feb 7 – 17, 2013.

This is our first time travelling to the Bahamas as well as staying at The Royal Bahamian. My wife and I can’t think of anything negative to pass onto you. As a matter of fact we both agree that the service at La Toc was great last year BUT the service and hospitality at The Royal Bahamian during our stay was a notch better. The staff here gave us the impression they truly enjoy being part of the Sandals team.

Anyhow, you've read the other reviews so I won't repeat too much on what has already been written. First off... No time-share desk(s) to worry about. The Sandals desk at Lynden Pindling International Airport is on the left hand side to the doors leaving the airport. The drive to SRB is about 15 min from the airport. There is a small Liquor ONLY, no cigarettes, Duty Free kiosk and a snack bar in the departure lounge, nothing else. Free WiFi is available in the departure lounge.

Tipping: There was no tipping during our stay at the resort, we did for the driver from the airport to resort as they are not Sandals employees.

Service: Top notch! Everyone was so friendly, polite and helpful. Again, we felt the service here was a notch better than La Toc in Saint Lucia.

We don't drink alcohol so we can't comment on the alcohol selection.

Wi-Fi: Signal was strong everywhere on the resort and on the beach. Not sure about signal on the private island as we didn’t try to connect. Internet speed was around 2 Mbps. Skype Video and TalkaTone for iPhone calls were fairly smooth. $15 per day or $43 for 7 days and up to three (3) devices at one time. After you sign up you get an email with your password code.

Food: In our opinion Sandals is by far the best food we've had at an All-Inclusive resort, both La Toc and SRB. Not your typical grand buffet but quality was superb. Steaks, Prime Rib, Lobster tail, Veal, Duck, Crab Legs, Lamb, Rack of Lamb, Grouper, Conch and so on, depending on the restaurant you eat at. Like I've said before after your meal you feel like you need to pay the bill or tip the wait staff... this is how good the food and service is... IMHO. There is a fantastic pub for late night drinks, snacks and large screen TV's tuned into the sports channel. The chicken wings, fish and chips and hamburgers are awesome! Enjoy the Junkanoo Party and try the conch salad. There’s the Chocolate Buffet, Thursday night at 9:30 pm. We ate at Kimono's and it was OK but no 'flame" show which was a bit disappointing. Having lunch on the private island was good and do try the conch fritters. Gordon’s on the Pier are for the Butler guests but is available for the remaining guests at $140 per couple.

Evening attire: For the Ladies, do bring your evening dinner wear, heals and jewellery. Guys... Smart casual is the way to go and leave the flip flops for breakfast and lunch. Met a few guys wearing their Omega or Rolex watch. At this resort people do like to dress up for the even. During our stay there were a few evenings that were a bit on the chilly side so a light sweater or jacket will come in handy.

Getting around by taxi OR local bus: From SRB to downtown Nassau is around $14 - $20US one way from what we heard. We took the local bus… $1.25US one way and it is no faster than a taxi and it takes you right into downtown. To catch the bus just walk out to the main street and wait by the resort’s “Sandals” sign. The bus driver will stop and pick you up. The bus will have the route number 10 on it. The ride to downtown, depending on traffic, will be anywhere from 15 to 20 mins. The bus driver gives back change. To come back to the resort just walk back to where the bus dropped you off originally, route number 10 bus, and it will drop you off across the street from the resort in front of Burger King. Along the way check out the Fish Fry, you can ask the bus driver and he’ll let you know when he passes by.

Shopping: Downtown Nassau has it all… Pandora, Tiffany, Omega, Rolex, Gucci, Fendi, Mont Blanc, Effy and so on plus all the other small local shops and jewellery shops. Know your hometown prices so you can compare to the Nassau prices. Pandora basic bracelet is $65US and the charms range from $35 - $65. Tiffany Airplane with moving propeller charm was $150US. Rolex Sub-C Date was $8100US. John Bull is a nice place to visit. There is a jewellery store right next to the resort – Jewel’s by the Sea, you have to walk out to the main street, that sell Pandora and the prices are the same as downtown Nassau. There is the Straw Market… we lasted no more than 5 min in there before we said forget it… seen one you seen them all. Public washrooms can be found inside the Straw Market. There is a pharmacy and a sports store right across the street from the resort. US Dollar and Bahamian Dollar were at par during our stay.

Resort Dive Center: Two tank dives daily, pick up your wetsuit and fins at 8:00 a.m. and bus pick up is around 8:45 am. The drive to their marina is about 20 min. No diving on Sundays. This is by far THE BEST diving I've experienced and I've dived Mexico, Costa Rica and Cuba. Lots of dive sites. Wrecks… lots of wrecks to see and a plane wreck as well, no penetration. Beautiful reefs with lots of marine life including big sting rays, turtles and sharks. Take advantage of Sandals Shark Encounter Dive, worth the price. They go to the same area that Stuart Cove’s goes to but no feeding. Instead Sandals drops down a bucket filled with dead Lionfish to attract the sharks in. We kneel at the bottom sea floor, 45 ft, and watch as the sharks come in. I have to watch my GoPro videos again but a minimum of 10 sharks at one time. Even had giant Groupers come in and hang around us. Close enough to touch but we didn’t. Sharks are coming in from all direction and above us. Have your GoPro or UW camera for this dive.

Our Room: Only concern we had was the occasional slight brown/ rusty color water coming from the hot water tap, mostly first thing in the morning. We stayed in a Windsor Grand Luxe Concierge with an ocean view, 6th floor. We were overall happy with our room, king size bed, private balcony with chairs and coffee table. Nice and close to the beach. Good working A/C, no ceiling fan in our room, 110v outlets through out the room. 32” flat screen TV and Satellite TV channels are in English, DVD player, clock radio with iPod/iPhone dock. Housekeeping was much better here than at La Toc and our bar fridge re-stocked daily. In the early mornings it took awhile, about 4 mins, for the hot water to reach our room.

Red Lane Spa: We took advantage of their Couples Hot Stone Massage and it was worth every penny.

The beach: Very nice and just one beach vendor and they weren't intrusive. Water is calm and beautiful. Lots of beach cots available and the cabana’s are based on first come first served. No extra cost to use them. I did not experience any sand fleas on the resort beach. Lots of cots by the two pools. Seadoo’s are available from the beach vendor, not part Sandals, at $70 for 30 min.

The Private Island: Absolutely beautiful and peaceful on the right side/ west part of the island. There is renovations/ construction going on at the other end of the island so the machinery they are using is very loud. The water is absolutely calm. Not much to see for snorkellers but if you take the Sandals snorkel tour they’ll take you to a wreck in shallow waters. Just the right amount of cots, maybe a few more would have been nice. Be sure to bring your own towels from the resort as there were none left at the island when we arrived at 11:10 am. First boat leaves the resort at 10 am every hour till 3 pm. LOTS of sand fleas on the island so bring and use the insect repellent if you want to minimize the flea bites.

Tours: They are available through the resort but we did not book any.

Weather: During our stay there were a few days and evenings that were breezy and chilly but overall we had beautiful, sunny and warm weather.

Sandals has again left us with a very satisfying experience that we pre-booked our next trip to their Whitehouse resort in Jamaica for our February 2014 vacation through their Soon Come Back office.

Room Tip: Pack some clothing for those chilly days and nights. Don't forget the insect repellent for the s...

We went here in August of 2011. It was my hus band and my very first trip togethet for our 10 year anniversary. Beware of the airport going into the country. There was no order and it was CRAZY! I am so glad the resort was worth it. We loved our room, overlooking the pool and ocean. The food was great, the staff friendly. The second island was our favorite. We brought our own snorkeling gear and used it of the back side if this islsnd. We had it to ourself for a long time....hidden treasure. We had to end our trip early because I wanted off early due to hurricane coming. Buyer beware hurricanes are not necessarly covered under travel insurance. ..I had to fight tooth and nail for some coverage. I love the Bahamas. .would go back, but never agsin in August. Enjoy your trip.
