BAD POINT
Lots of daily activities on but they are poorly advertised; a daily news letter sent to your room would be a good idea.
Sandals is possibly the best resort that I have ever stayed in. From start to finish it was absolute perfection.
One thing to note is that this is an all inclusive in every sense of the word, there is no limit to your fun and enjoyment.
From check in you are offered champagne and shown to your room which is situated in a neat villa style setting (Royal village).
The rooms are very spacious, have with a patio, small lounge are come with a free mini bar complete with bottles of vodka, rum, beer, champagne and whisky, ideal for that long flight over or a quiet night in.
The complex itself is well designed with everything to make your holiday relaxing, it has multiple swimming pools: two main large pools and mini pools scattered amongst the complex that are more scheduled but all are just less than five minutes from your accommodation.
If you are big foodie like myself then your needs are more than fulfilled with ten restaurants to choose from offering a great variety of foods from French to Japanese.
As for breakfast that is simply amazing with a massive selection of cereals, fruit, pastries and freshly cooked breakfasts just remember to get there early if you do want a cooked breakfast as the omelettes are very popular.
A handful of restaurants require you to a reserve a table (Crystal room, Baccarat, Cafe Goombay, Kimonos, Casanova) and its best to do so on your first day to avoid disappointment. Here are a few things to note about the restaurants:
Crystal room – Is very cold (temperature) and has the least exciting menu
Kimonos – Allows you to dine in close quarters with 10 other strangers on a semi-circle table with a chef in the centre, so it can be a bit unsettling or fun depending the other that dine with you.
Spices – Does a great selection of food but you have to try their spiced chicken and order a rum punch.
Baccarat – A brilliant setting offering a classy breakfast and dinner. Highly recommend the mahi-mahi, lamb rack, apple tart.
Casanova – Hold a musical pool party with a great selection of salads, cakes and grilled meats, don’t miss this!
If relaxing is more your thing then there is a spa offering a variety of treatments and there are many sun loungers available all over the complex and on the long stretching golden sandy beach where you can top up your tan. There are even some jacuzzi's about where you can kick back, one is adjacent to a swim up bar for a quick drink if the heat gets too intense.
The private island is a great place to relax too, as it has its own pool, spa area and offers a really serene environment.
For the more active people there is a gym (usually empty) equipped with free weights, resistance machines, cardio machines and offers a great view of the complex and the private island.
There are also many games that can be played such as shuffle board, volleyball on the beach, tennis, basketball and a host of water sports on offer. If you’re looking for a challenge you can even have one of the staff to act as your personal trainer to improve your skills or make them sweat.
One thing that has to be noted is that the staff at Sandals are amazing they are friendly, funny and entertaining. Everyone says hello when they see you and make a conscious effort to remember you and greet you by name in some cases.
Plus they never allow your glass to run dry and make the effort to introduce themselves and attend to your needs, the level of customer service is impeccable.
If I could afford to go to Sandals every year I would as it is a place that will fulfil your every desire.
Room Tip: Go for the royal village, they are less occupied, loos stunning and are more romantic than the other...
