Stayed here overnight on way to San Sal. This wasn't that great - even for a budget hotel. (By Canadian standards)
Service wasn't anything to write home about! A laisse fair - don't give a darn - type attitude from the moment you walk in. Front desk couldn't find my reservation and just let me stand there and worry for 10 minutes without saying something like...."Don't worry there must be some explanation" Well anyway they checked me in and the hotel needs work. The halls to the rooms are very run-down. The room wasn't too bad - once I got in! The key didn't work so I had to go all the way back. The elevator took forever. The balcony(european) door didn't work. The view was nice. A little commercial as the traffic on the main street out front was crazy! The water had a lot of commercial shipping activity. Nassau is crowded, noisy and as the security gaurd said - Its not safe! So don't leave the hotel on your own and start walking around. Naive people will get into trouble. There seemed to be a lot of locals hanging around the outside of the hotel. Room service was terrible. I had the continental breakfast in the morning. Coffee was out of a machine and terrible. Anyway if this is the average budget hotel in Nassau - I won't be back! It seems that a lot of locals stayed at the hotel. The pool area is not great. There was the hot-tub below my room and the pool was on the other side. I would not go in either. The deck area was dirty and in desperate need of cleaning and painting. Good luck! I would rather go to Cuba - at least the service is better and the place is clean! Oh and the cabbie didn't come back for me as was scheduled. Thanks! I had to flag down another.
