“Day Pass - Cruise Ship Stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

We wanted a quiet, easy, low key day. We got just that. The $60 dollar day pass per person purchased online via Island Marketing was a great value. The pass gave us complete access to all the outdoor beach and pool area had to offer and included a $40 credit for food and drinks (and yes, that included alcohol). It was an easy walk from the port. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. There are a few downsides to this location. First, the beach and pool are very small. Secondly, the body of water by the beach is the traffic lane for all of the giant cruise ships. I love watching the ships come in, but due to this traffic, the water seems a bit dirty and I had no desire to get in it. Overall, it was a great place to pass an afternoon reading in a comfy chair with a yummy beverage.

We just got back from 5 days at this hotel in the heart of Nassau. Excellent staff, immaculate rooms, food was great in the hotel restaurants. Overall, a bit pricey but it is a Hilton and worth the price. Especially the Executive level, since you get free drinks and snacks every day from 3-7 and a fabulous view of the surroundings, the ocean, and the cruise ships.

The small beach was perfect - intimate and cozy. Not directly on the ocean, but it was so exciting to watch the cruise ships go by and turn right in front of us! The pool had beds right beside it allowing you to nap in the sun and draw the curtains for privacy. Beach cafe was great as well - good drinks. The staff was just wonderful as well - helpful, friendly, always saying hello and asking how things were going. And I loved the fact you can stroll out the front door and into the shopping and activities of Nassau. I wouldn't have stayed anywhere else! Highly recommend this hotel and all it's lovely amenities!

Room Tip: Get a room at the executive level. Worth the extra price for the lounge, the quiet, and the view.

There is nothing bad about this Hilton. The water when you first turn on the shower is brown. You have to let it run for awhile to clear up. The staff was very nice. The lobby area is very nice. The location is great because the Straw Market is in walking distance. It is in the heart of all the action. He really did not need a taxi. My husband and I had the kids and went to Atlantis for the Aquarium thinking it was free. We went years ago on a cruise and were able to see the Aquarium. Well it was no longer free unless you were staying on the property. We had to take a taxi back to our side. The taxi driver told us that Atlantis put a price on it because it was to much traffic coming in mainly from the cruise ships. As a way to manage the traffic in and out they put a price on coming to see the aquarium. All you can do free there now is shop and gamble. The taxi driver then told us that if we come back after 6:30 we will be able to see the aquarium for free. He stated that the security is a little more relaxed after that time because most of the ships are leaving. I hope this helps someone else. We did not go back as it was $40 for us to get back and forth. We were Afraid the same thing would happen. A member of the hotel staff did tell us the night before to go to the aquarium and it was free but we decided to wait until the next afternoon. So if you decide to try it let me know if you were able to get in free. Thanks

This Hilton property has the customer service and friendliness of personnel Hilton is noted for, but once you get past the lobby, the rooms are not of the caliber nor cleanliness typically associated with the hilton name. We had to change our room after the first one had mold in the showers, chipped paint in the room, and an overall worn, dirty appearance. One of the phones didn't work, and the TV made a hissing sound in the second room, where we stayed. The location was good, only a few blocks from downtown Nassau, and about a $12. Cab or nice long walk from paradise island. No casino at the hilton, nice private beach. The cruise lines dock within sight of the beach. Be aware, many of the rooms with beachfront views have beds that face a wall without visibility of the beach. The only meal we had in the hotel was breakfast. The buffet had made to order omelets, cold and hot cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, pancakes, bacon and sausage, more than adequate, plenty of choices. Regular menu also available. Executive floor had continental breakfast or choice of buffet in their regular restaurant for $6.00 upcharge, very reasonable for the added choices. The large window view, complimentary alcohol and late afternoon snacks in the executive lounge, with option to sit outside overlooking the beach was enjoyed daily in the evening.
We traveled mid march and were disappointed in the weather, very chilly and breezy. It was too cold to swim. We needed sweaters and long pants.
Overall, if you want a quieter hotel in the Bahamas where you don't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to get a chaise at the beach, providing you don't have the typical expectations or standards expected with hilton, it is a good hotel to consider away from the crowds but easily accessible by cab to Atlantis. This would improve immensely if Hilton gave the rooms a much needed facelift.

Room Tip: Pick a room that ends with an odd number. The views are better and rooms laid out nicer

I bought the day pass option this hotel advertises when my cruise docked here for the day. Following the map, it was very easy to locate and locals were helpful giving directions, everyone knew where the hotel was. The lobby is very pretty with all the different colored woods, and light cream colors. The day pass option costs you $60 BUT you get $30 back in a food/drink (alcoholic and soft drink) voucher. You also have options to use the pool, pool chairs, beach, beach chairs, etc. The property is very clean and low key from the hustle and bustle of downtown Nassau. You can see the ships pull in and out and the whole experience was amazing. I spent about 5-6 hours there before making my way back to the ship at night.

If you're looking for a low key day including luxury and great value, pick this hotel!

We were on the Carnival Fascination leaving 7 Mar 13 to Freeport and Nassau. Instead of the regular day trips advertised by the cruise lines we opted to do the day pass to the Hilton. What a nice bunch of folks! Everyone from the front desk, to the people at the pool were friendly and helpful. It was well worth $60.00 per person. For the money we had run of the pool and beach, towells, NICE beach chairs and each had $40.00 to spend on food and drink. Will definitely go back!!
