“This is the House of Assembly; not Government House”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2012

Most of the pictures here are of The House of Assembly where government business takes place. There is a statue of Queen Victoria in front of it. There are a couple of pictures in the "visitor pictures" section of another pink house with a statue of a man standing on the steps, that is Government House and the statue is Christopher Columbus. This is where the Governor General resides. It is located on Shirley Street and Blue Hill.

“A must see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012 via mobile

Its where the present Governor General lives. The grounds are very well maintained and naturally manicured. Hundreds of photo pics. There is a large statue of Christopher Columbus. There are sometimes parties, awards ceremonies and tea parties hosted there. Every 2nd Saturday morning at 11 an there is a Changing of the Guards were the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band performs a small display with Defense Force Officers.

“Pretty house, still being used for goverment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2012

It's pretty, big and pink. It was fun seeing the architecture. I was told that there used to be a cool fountain there, but it's gone now. Not much to do at this venue.. just another photo op. But it's right downtown and easy walking distance, so I'm glad we walked by it.
