We have just returned from 4 days at Breezes and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. A bit of a delay on our flights with AA, but what can you expect! I'll start at the beginning. Check in was a Breeze so to say! We arrived around 12:30 and waited no more than 5 minuites at the desk. Staff was so courteous! Came back at 3:00 or so and after a 10 minute wait our room was ready. Room 527 in the West Wing, did indeed get the water view we asked for. Room was definitely not the Ritz but totally adequate, as we left by 8:00 am and returned around 7 to shower for dinner! Spotless linens and towels, clean room. We ate breakfast and 2 dinners at the buffet, lunch always at the Pool Grill. All about what you would expect for all inclusive food. No complaints here. We did eat at Pastafari and must say we were sadly disappointed in the food. Staff was great however. Drinks were superb as we had heard. There was a bit of a problem with the pool. VERY cloudy and water very hot. given the temps I'm not surprised. It was extrememly hot, and we always travel the islands in July. A bit of a surprise. They did some intensive chemical treatments and kept it closed for 1 day, and we noticed a great improvment. However, as we much prefer the beach it did not hinder us at all. The beach was fabulous, water crystal clear. I think umbrellas on the beach would be better than those cabana type things. They were oven like! It is safe to say that it can get a bit rowdy, as the majority of the guests were of the high school/college age and feeling their freedom! The music at night was very loud, but it did not in any way ruin our sleep. You seem to pass out anyway with that much water and sun! I would highly recommend a trip to the Atlantis. It was breathtaking! Took a cab, $18 each way from Breezes. Also walked over to the Crystal Palace Casino and enjoyed that very much. Were treated to incredible fireworks there to celebrate the 4th! Overall, we loved it! I'm so glad we ignored the negative posts! We would not hesitate to return in the future. Definitely worth what we paid for it and I would say a solid 3 star resort. Don't expect top of the line as everyone says and you will have a great time.

I had walked in with my husband and booked a room on July 2ND. We were told that the rate was going to be $320.00 for 2 nights for the both of us all inclusive. The reason why we stayed here was because a couple that we know were getting married on the 4th of July and needed to stay close to them since we were the witneses. When we were getting ready to check out which was on July 4 we were told that the charges were $640.00, $320.00 per night per person. Which was not what we were told in the first place. Unfortunately we had a flight to catch and could not dispute the charges then at that time. Also the pool was closed half the time, the food at the buffet was cold and burned. There was no variety of milk for those that are lactose intolerant. And there was hardly a variety of fruit.

Stayed 6 nights at Breezes with a bunch of my girlfriends, and we had a great time. Even before reading the reviews, I knew it wouldnt be a five star hotel because thats not what we were paying for. Then having read all of the reviews, we went in with a better idea of what to expect. Getting from the airport to the hotel is easy, but once you get to Breezes you have to leave your luggage in the main lobby because you can't check in until 3 pm. They do let you change and hang out by the pool all day, and greet you with drinks right away. My friends had an easy time checking in to their rooms, my room took quite a while. We ended up having to wait an extra hour and a half to get our room, then we got the wrong key, etc. That was probably the worst part of our stay, and it got me worried because of other reviews that I read, and I thought the rest of the trip was going to be a distaster but it defintley wasn't. Our room had a beautiful view which we were quite surprised by, and the room was in okay condition. The toilet didn't work, but we called and someone came to fix it right away. The food was fine, we ate mostly at Pastafari for dinner because the Eden restaurant had a really strange menu. FYI - do NOT eat at Kafe Khalick. Its NOT part of Breezes but its attached to it and the food and service was absolutely awful and made everyone sick. The buffet was good for lunch and the pool grill was good while your snacking during the day.
We never had a problem getting chairs on the beach or at the pool, and the beach is absolutely beautiful. The pool wasn't as gross as other reviews have said, although didnt appreciate the young drunk kids eating hamburgers in the pool and dropping their food all over the place. The beach was a good escape from that. There is security everywhere at all times, and it makes you feel very safe. The trapeze is soo much fun, and the guys who are part of the circus team are super nice and funny. Also went out on the sailboat thats included and the guy who did that was also super nice.
The service at the bar in the main entertainment room was a little slow at times, but there was also a lot of people and the drinks were good. Liked the khalick beer and margharitas. Biggest complaint was the 120 high school kids who were there for graduation - they were all over the place sloppy drunks who were loud and obnoxious. Me and my friends are young and were just looking to have a good time but their presence severely affected that. Its not fun to be waiting to get a drink and some drunk kid pukes on your feet. The other guests found them extremely annoying as well, as did the staff. This wasnt the fault of the staff but it was just really irritating and many of them should have been cut off way earlier. We are planning to go back to Breezes but NOT during high school graduation time ever again.
That said, most everyone who worked there was really really nice and friendly - they looked out for you, the entertainment shows at night were awesome, and the house band rocked. Would strongly recommend doing the Booze cruise, its really really fun - you get to see cool things from the boat, like Senor Frogs, the Straw Market, and the Atlantis. The snorkeling wasn't that great, but the drinks are strong and the dancing is super fun. All in all, loved Breezes, it was a great trip and we can't wait to go back.

Let me first say that I am just back from my vacation and I had a wonderful time at the Bahamas. The Bahamian community as a whole were friendly, helpful and very complimentary. I am actually planning on returning to the Bahamas in the not so distant future. I considered myself an honorary Bahamian during my time at Nassau and Downtown.

With that being said, let me tell you about my time at Breezes. Before I go on, let me say that the staff at Breezes was friendly, helpful and absolutely wonderful. I tried tipping them a couple of times but they flat out refused it for fear of being fired.

My new husband and I were there for our honeymoon. We thought it would be a cheaper version of Sandals. Boy were we wrong! Our nights were filled with loud thumping music right outside of our "oceanfront" (translation, a horrible view of the ocean and a great view of the pool) room. The glass slider was broken so we couldnt open or close it, AND it wouldnt close, so all of the hot air and sounds from the partying could be very well heard. They had activities that included a Toga Party, a talent competition, and other activities that required the use of very loud thumping music, alcohol and many teens and young adults looking to party into the morning. And with our room being directly across from this roucous, needless to say, we didnt get much sleep.

The last night we were there (Saturday July 2), there was a reception. Their music was competing with the already loud music of the activities commitee. I dont know if the people at the reception were just trying to make us mad or maybe they were too drunk to rationalize, but they wheeled the speakers onto the balcony and played what to me sounded like a "---- You" song to all tourists. When the security guards would try and tell the party that they were making too much noise, they turned the music louder, then got on the microphone and told all the people of Breezes to just lighten up man! Many guests complained about the noise, including myself, and all we got was that the reception would be over shortly. Well shortly became 12:45AM. Had we known that was going to be the deal for our last night in the Bahamas, we would have checked out that day and went to a Holiday Inn or something where there wouldnt be a lot of noise.

For people looking to cut corners on their honeymoon, DON'T DO IT! And please take my advice and do not book here. Let me repeat myself by saying that it was not the staff who made this experience awful, it was the guests they cater to. If youre under 21, if you have just graduated from high school or college and youre looking to throw down with your girls/guys, then by all means this is the place for you. However, if you are looking for a nice quiet getaway with your sig other/life mate/fiance/wife/husband, please do not go there. You will not get any sleep, and it wont be because of...well you get the general idea.

For anyone who may find this offense, I do apologize. Some people can handle noise just fine. I didnt stay in a dorm when I went to college, so I am not used to loud music into the late hours of night.

I stayed 6 nights at Breezes Bahamas in early June with 2 longtime friends to celebrate our mutual 50th birthdays in June. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I had read several of the reviews here and was somewhat prepared for the worst. We experienced a mixed bag. I thought the food was good to excellent. The buffets offered a wide variety, some of it just ok and some it very tasty. Just be selective and willing to try different items. The food at Pastafari and particularly the Garden of Eden was excellent and so was the service. Be sure to make reservations at least once for both. I also enjoyed the food offered by the pool.

Having drinks of all sorts available all day was convenient and fun, even if all you did was drink the "slushies" without alcohol or just indulge in soft drinks. I tried several new and different alcoholic beverages and some of my old favorites that cost $6 or more elsewhere. But unlike the recent high school grads, I didn't overdo it. And there were lots of them!! Got a bit on my nerves after a few nights.

We were croweded into one room with a roll away bed. That was tight, but we made it work. I took one half Unisom to help me sleep and used earplugs and those made the night bearable. My friend, however, couldn't sleep one night due to kids talking loudly late into the night out by the pool. Three calls to the front desk didn't change anything, so my friend insisted we get a room in the taller building facing away from the pool/courtyard. It was much quieter there.

I would go again, maybe, but only in seasons when the kids are in school, like October, and after they renovate and offer a least a few rooms that are updated and more modern. And they could use fans in the bathrooms!

Most of the staff were friendly, but some were just civil. I do recommend you take at least a look at the jewelry in the on-premises store. I bought a few pieces that are special souvenirs. I also recommend the cruise to Sea Island. Beautiful island and great snorkeling along a gorgeous stretch of beach and water.

And if you like to ride horses, there is a stable, Happy Trails, on the other side of the island. We rode along the beach and in the water. I recommend strongly, though, that you wear long pants and decent shoes, not flip flops! And put on bug spray!

The Best: not paying for food/drink everytime you turn around. The Worst: the noise!!!
