“Long, pretty beach with turtles and reef life”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

Very close to the road--so easy to get to.
Go early to snorkel in the grass beds--saw humongous turtles grazing there. Also the sides of the bay have nice snorkeling.
The water is beautiful, white sands, and plenty of sea grape trees for shade. Thoroughly enjoyed our day here.
They had facilities, but they were never open. (???)
Note--if you go before Jun 13--be sure to go up to Maho Bay Eco Camp, and go to the art glass/batik/pottery store to see high quality art glass. Also the cafe has good food and wine. They are losing their lease on this place in May, so it will close after 40 fabulous years--so sad!

“Best Beach on St. John!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

We have been to St. John twice and we always end up on Maho Bay. You will find the water warm and calm most always. The beach is sandy and smooth, framed with palm trees, and the aqua blue makes you know you are in paradise! The beach is popular, but we enjoyed watching the happy, lively people. Great snorkel spot for beginners, its easy and there are lots of surprises. Don't just go to the right side to snorkel, the center of the bay is actually awesome too. Get there before 10 AM or after 2PM or you won't find a place to park. Bring your ice chest and chairs, forget your book because Maho Bay is just to beautiful to take your eyes off it for a moment. Enjoy!

“Beautiful Palm Tree Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

Beautiful beach with nice sand, palm trees and shade. Excellent snorkeling with turtles, barrcuda and lots of fish. Go early to get a parking spot, they fill up quickly.

“Loved Maho Bay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Nice beach with great snorkeling. It's possible to snorkel to Francis Bay which is also nice. Best snorkeling is on the right side.

“Favorite beach to hang out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Easy access, sandy bottom, gradual descent into water, no surf; great for families, families with kids, couples, teens, everybody. Very laid back. Great place for SUP, floats, snorkeling beginners. One of my favorite spots on St. John.
