A great beach, very accessible and close to the parking. Picnic tables are available as are trees for a bit of shade. Very beautiful view.....

“Phenomenal Shallow Reef!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2014

When I lived in the USVI, Hawksnest Bay was my FAVORITE place to drop anchor and take people snorkeling. Even from the beach it is amazing. The reef is very close to shore and very shallow, so you have to be careful and pick your way through and around the elkhorn and other coral. PLEASE be careful not to touch anything. If you are doing a daytrip to St. John and headed to Trunk Bay, do yourself a huge favor and stop here on the way. Take it from someone who has spent hundreds of hours snorkeling and diving around these islands, this spot is well worth a stop. You may have to explore a bit to find the best part of the shallow reef. Seek and ye shall find an amazing adventure here!

“Nice for families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

We were here a little later in the afternoon. Really nice beach, calm water. Pretty. If you have small ones, this would be a great spot for them.

“One of our favorite beaches on St. John!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

Hawksnest is an incredibly beautiful beach. Clear crystal blue water and very good snorkeling. Pretty good areas of shade.
The bathrooms can be kind of iffy-they are not flush toilets and sometimes the smell prohibited me from using them.
It is a popular beach with the locals.

“Awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

We loved Hawksnest. Good snorkeling, nice beach. Not a lot of parking, so get here early. I believe we saw a couple of stingrays here, so if you snorkel you'll see some good stuff.
