“Fantastic beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2011 via mobile

Powdery white sand, perfect clear blue water, easy to get to from town and not crowded. I loved trunk bay but thought this was better for above reasons.

“Best Beach on St John”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2010

I have seen all the beaches on St John. Hawksnest is by far the best beach. Extremely green, very quite and great shore. Trunk Bay is also good but between the two I'd say spend more time on Hawksnest for a real relaxation experience since it is not as crowded as Trunk Bay.

“Favorite Beach in St. John”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2009

We took the car barge from STT to St John and drove to Hawksnest. Great beach, parking was easy. The beach was nice and not too many people there. There are two reefs just off the shore, no need to go to deep. Great beach for snorkeling. I saw tons of fish here (better than the crowded Trunk) You can always find some shade to kick back in on the sand. There's no running water here, but there are pit toilets for use.

“Not really worth it”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2008

A pretty beach but limited facilities and not that much to see as far as snorkeling. Trunk bay truly is the best snorkeling on the island.
