Owner description: The good news: this world-class stretch of white sand and turquoise water is St. John's most photographed beach, which features a marked underwater trail for beginning snorkelers. The bad news: because of its popularity, it can get very crowded with cruise ship passengers and members of sightseeing tours.

“Wedding Day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

It was the perfect place to exchange our wedding vows, presided over by Anne Marie Porter...the "barefoot minister" who made it extra special and so very beautiful!

“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

We went to trunk bay from st thomas on a excursion from carnival . We took a boat ride about 40 minutes from st thomas, boarded a bus to the beach. We stopped at a overlook on the way, one of the most beautiful scenes you'll ever see. The beach is stunning, the snorkeling was ok..I would love to go back..

“Great location early morning”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Been going to St. John since the 80s. Trunk Bay IS the photo most travel magazines use for island ads. There is an underwater marked trail that is easy to follow and the beach is beautiful. If you don't like crowds or tourists coming off cruise lines, leave before 10AM. It gets VERY crowded with the cameras, screaming kids which takes away from the beauty of a typically peaceful island. Worth a stop early in the morning.

“Beautiful...a little crowded”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

This bay is a crowd pleaser, lots of taxis etc. The underwater trail that the park service makes a big deal about is mostly coral...very few fish. The fish are on other reefs and hae been scared away by all the traffic. The bay is lovely and warm. You can take a taxi from town and don't worry about finding one for the ride back, there are tons of them.
